The role of political parties as representatives of public interests is gradually weakening, which is facilitated by the growing importance of social media. Personalization, as a strategy of political communication, manifests itself during the period of election campaigns, since the electorate chooses specific politicians based on their image recreated in the media. The purpose of this article is to test the hypothesis about the increasing role of social media and the personification of the political game during election campaigns. The research methods include analysis of bibliographic sources and content analysis. The authors studied the profiles from the social network VKontakte belonging to some candidates for deputies of St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly, nominated by the electoral association \"St. Petersburg regional branch of the All-Russian party \"Unity and Fatherland\" - \"United Russia\". Based on the analysis of the content from the profiles on the social network, the hypothesis we had put forward about the increasing role of media during the election campaigns was not confirmed. The authors conclude that political competition is a key factor in the personification of political discourse in mass media. It is shown that, if there is no political competition, politicians lose incentives to disclose personalized information and form a positive image of their personality in social media. The practical significance of the work for representatives of the political community lies in the fact that at present, in order to increase public loyalty to the dominant party and trust in the political activities of public leaders, politicians at all levels of government need to conduct a competent policy in social networks, based on the experience of leading democratic countries.","PeriodicalId":273205,"journal":{"name":"2022 Communication Strategies in Digital Society Seminar (ComSDS)","volume":"148 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123399000","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Significant correlations of subjective assessments of residents, objective indicators of landscaping and data from their geoinformation social networks were revealed, which allowed to substantiate the objectivity of using information content for the analysis of real ecological infrastructure. The article highlights the results of the study of environmental content perception using eye-tracking, survey, and content analysis methods. The respondents are young people between 18 and 21 years old. The results of the study based on the respondents’ data confirm the author’s assumptions about the literacy and accuracy of this kind of content presentation.The purpose of the research is to study the peculiar features of building headlines of environmental texts from Internet media resources to identify their impact on the target youth audience (Generation Z) and their subsequent behavioral response. The study of the environmental materials from Internet media was characterized by using a group of methods, including neuromethods (in particular, eye-tracking, which tracks the indirect reactions of respondents), as well as a survey and content analysis.The stimulus material for the study was environmental materials from Internet sites of risk bearing regions, namely, the Chelyabinsk region and Northern Kazakhstan. The paper reflects the results of the target youth audience’s responses to the stimulus material and shows the level of impact on the respondents’ behavior and emotions. It presents in detail the data of the content analysis, which significantly expand the scientific perspectives on the coverage of environmental issues in the media and the consequences of such coverage.To carry out the content analysis, we chose a quantitative and qualitative approach, which outlined the semantic and stylistic features of building environmental texts and helped to establish the connotative characteristics of such texts with their subsequent classification by topics, categories, and groups.The use of the survey method helped us to better understand the problem of perceiving environmental information and contributed to a more detailed study of the respondents’ behavior. The chosen methods contributed to the definition of \"active areas\" of the youth audience’s interests and made the authors more confident in the assumption that the texts of headlines harmoniously combined with the image significantly influence the perception of the youth audience, as well helped to understand the appropriate coverage of environmental issues in the Internet media.","PeriodicalId":273205,"journal":{"name":"2022 Communication Strategies in Digital Society Seminar (ComSDS)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-04-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124252203","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
