A simulation model is postulated and results are described qualitatively. A series of computerized analytic and numeric solutions are applied in stages, providing for multiple degrees of simulation fidelity to predict the EMI between VHF and UHF antennas on a complex structure. The complexity of the model evolves from one that is relatively conservative to one that is gradually more detailed and complex, allowing one to first analyze a large, complex system of radiators and scatterers efficiently to identify incompatibilities using approximate analytic methods. The validity of such a highly simplified human body model, however, has never been carefully examined. In this paper, with the application of our previously proposed numerical method for the EMI evaluation of pacemakers by portable telephones, we first confirmed Irnich's finding that the maximum interference distance increases with the third root of the antenna transmitting power for a homogeneous cuboid torso model in order to show the validity of our modeling. Hansen","doi":"10.1109/ICSMC2.2003.1428226","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ICSMC2.2003.1428226","url":null,"abstract":"Due to recent deregulations in the EU utility market, it appears to be tempting to compete with classical telecom providers now also over utility owned power lines in the LV mains grid e.g. for broadband Internet access in mostly residential areas. PLC (power line communications, sometimes called PL-T standing for telecommunications) uses unshielded, 230 V/50 Hz low voltage distribution cables inside and outside of buildings as transmission medium up to Mbit/s data rates. This requires mains injected radio frequency levels (e.g. total power < 1W, spectral power e.g. -40dBm/Hz, 1-30 MHz) that are EMC critical, with common mode currents on wirers e.g. 20dBuA at 1MHz. Such signals are normally injected at the distribution transformer. Aside from the growing international standards making effort, there are today(11/02) applicable German regulations in place (RegTP, NB 30-07/01). controlling radiated emissions below 30 MHz, in the short wave user spectrum. Most standards give field strength limitations only above 30MHz. In contrast to PLC, other competing broadband services like x-DSL and cable TV use well engineered, symmetrical telecom line with less disturbance potential. Regulations and standards are supposed to protect, among others, sensitive monitoring/communication services in both military and government. The latest PLC developments with all pro and cons are analyzed, computer simulations discussed and compared to many collected EMC critical (e.g. 20-40 dB over NB30 limits) measurement results. From now EU-wide available, real wide-spread PLC systems in field trials, first conclusions can be drawn. Some aspects of the EU mandate M313 regarding telecom networks will also be discussed. A review of the current state of PLC and related wire broadband technologies, with the focus on Europe, will be presented. The inductive coupling between the current electrode and potential electrode leads is analyzed for different homogeneous earths, operating frequency and separation between leads. Also, in urbanized area very often the potential probe can not be located at the proper position, because of the presence of buildings, paved lots, underground metallic pipes, etc. In those cases the direction of the potential probe needs to be placed under angle a = 90deg-270deg towards the direction of grounding grid-current electrode, method known as alternative fall-of-potential method. The purpose of this paper is to calculate errors of grounding resistance for different types of grids buried in two-layer earth models, when the potential probe is under some angle to the straight line grounding grid-current electrode. The evaluation of the per unit length (p.u.l.) parameters of the bundle is evaluated by a hybrid analytical-finite element procedure. Then, the MTL equations characterized by p.u.l. parameters depending on frequency and on position are expanded on a wavelet basis. An algebraic system describing voltage and current along the line is derived in the frequency domain. The time domain solution is achieved by inverse FFT. Authors have offered a method of temperature stabilization of MSWO frequency based on magnetization of ferrite film under certain angle to perpendicular that is easy to realize. This method allow to compensate temperature changes of ferrite saturation magnetization as well as temperature coefficients of magnetic system field either positive and negative signs. The influence of ferrite parameters, frequency and MSW length on value of temperature stable magnetization angle has been investigated.
