The applications of the microwave radiometry in the biomedical area permit the detection of the hot structures which appear due to a specific pathology. The paper describes the measurements of electromagnetic noise temperature, inside a MSR (Magnetic Shielded Room) destined for bioelectromagnetic measurements, namely its applications in microwave radiometry, the verification and calibration of the radiometer, and a very simple simulation experiment on a tumoral structure in a breast phantom.","PeriodicalId":271843,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical and Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123935354","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A Virtual Power Plant is a cluster of distributed generation units (such as photovoltaic power plants, wind turbines or small hydro) and any other sources of power that can cooperate together in the local area, and are controlled by a central control entity. An analysis of a VPP that is used to cover the load is performed for the whole day. The distributed generators from the VPP have different merit orders and outputs. Another analysis is performed for a power system in which a VPP is added. The analysis compares the power flow for the situations with and without the VPP.","PeriodicalId":271843,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical and Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123944812","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective is to prove how the HVACL-UMP configurations can be numerically simulated regardless their complex topology (e.g. geographical position, number of pipes, transmission lines bonds and groundings etc.) and material properties (e.g. coating, soil resistivity etc.). The software accuracy will be demonstrated on a simple geometrical configuration with a well-known analytical solution. Practical results of the simulations on a complex configuration will be presented and analyzed with respect to the impact on the operating personnel exposure.","PeriodicalId":271843,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical and Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126557389","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The long-term exposure to electromagnetic waves can seriously damage a person's health. The goal of this research is: to evaluate the implementation possibilities of new materials and composite structure (using amorphous magnetic materials, carbon powders stainless steel yarns and copper yarns), and also to achieve a protective composite textile material with absorbing properties, in order to protect human body and residential areas. Conductive materials have different absorption and reflection behaviors: metals are known for having high reflectivity, whereas carbon fibers and conductive polymers are known for having a high absorption behavior. This general trend was also observed in the results obtained. Conventional textile materials are not suitable for this purpose, but their modification and transformation in composites or other type of structures can be useful.","PeriodicalId":271843,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical and Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127254864","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
