The substation belongs to FDEE Electrica distributie Transilvania Nord SA. In a first step the detailed three dimensional (3D) CAD models of the substation components are constructed and assembled in the CAD environment SolidWorks. Then the exact 3D coordinates of the terminals are automatically retrieved and the electric field distribution is computed on the 3D CAD model using a CAE software developed. The electric field distribution is represented on horizontal and transversal slices at the 3D CAD model in order to highlight the high intensity field zones and compare them with respect to the actual legislation norms of human exposure.","PeriodicalId":271843,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical and Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125578615","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The wind farm network structure means the combined electric power sources (wind turbine) and branching lines. Also, in a wind farm the branching lines are represented by cable underground power lines (cable). The approach presented in this paper was applied to optimize the electrical inter-array cable systems for wind farms which is compatible with both radial and branched design philosophies, and can optimize for total cable length or cable cost. The newness of the proposed approach is based on a combination of classical and met-heuristic algorithms that use graph theory for wind farm cable route optimization. The results of case study clearly demonstrated the feasibility of the proposed method and showed that it can be used as a reliable tool in off-shore wind farm design for optimal cable route determination.","PeriodicalId":271843,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical and Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125916163","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The European Water Policy defines a common regulation for sustainable and integrated management of water corps and requires that all impact factors to be considered. The environmental friendly concept represents a necessity for worldwide hydropower development. The dissolved oxygen in water courses represents an essential parameter which allows the preservation and development of aquatic habitat. The objective of the work is identification and study of a new solution which will contribute to improvement of the dissolved oxygen quantity in water used as renewable energy resource, so necessary to the aquatic life. The proposed solution takes in consideration the optimum between aeration parameters and energy consumption, in order to be implemented in hydraulic turbines.","PeriodicalId":271843,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical and Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121178566","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, the use of Virtual Reality technology in rehabilitation has attracted significant interest in the physical therapy area. This paper presents PhysioMate, which is a project with the aim of developing software based on the concept of serious games for physical rehabilitation. The PhysioMate aims to encourage physical exercise in order to combat both physical and cognitive deterioration, functioning as a complement to the work of physical therapists, with and without their live supervision. Initially, the project has been focused on the rehabilitation of patients dependent on wheelchairs, whether they are victims of stroke or elderly people. Thus, we selected five essential simple movements of the upper-body for balance training and motor coordination, in which underlies the game mechanics of PhysioMate. We use the Microsoft Kinect sensor to detect and track the movements of patients.","PeriodicalId":271843,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical and Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"39 3-4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116572003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In recent years the number of this type of vehicles has increased dramatically around the world. While parked these vehicles consume electricity from the grid to charge their batteries, as defined in literature G2V (Grid to Vehicle). At the same time there is a possibility to use the batteries inside the vehicle as a distributed storage capacity, and when it is needed to inject electric energy into the grid (V2G). A big number of these vehicles are going to have an influence on distribution networks. The success of this technology increases if there is cheap electric energy available on the market. This paper studies the influences of a big number of electric vehicles over a LV distribution network and proposes an energy management algorithm to reduce the influences of electric vehicles over the grid.","PeriodicalId":271843,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical and Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127709848","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Machines that lack the permanent magnets having performances close to those that embed permanents magnets represent now the main interest in this field. Such a machine is the variable reluctance synchronous machine. Being derived from the family of synchronous machines is field oriented controlled. In the present paper one particular such machine is presented in detail designed for automotive applications. An analytical model is also presented used later to implement the maximum torque per ampere control, considering this strategy as being the one suitable for such applications. The simulation program is built in Matlab Simulink presented together with the control strategy and the results. The model of the machine takes into account both saturation and iron losses.","PeriodicalId":271843,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical and Power Engineering (EPE)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128097956","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
