We use several kinds of light bulbs: incandescent, gas discharge lamp and light-emitting diodes. For the acquisition and the analysis of voltage and current signals we use reconfigurable CompactRIO system from National Instruments. It can be obtained by modifying a conventional spark plug and adding an additional, floating potential, electrode between the two main electrodes, typically used. In order to validate the functionality of the double spark plug, in-situ experiments on an engine block, and different types of analysis (electrical, physical, chemical and mechanical) have been performed This paper presents a simulation of the spark discharge ignition in the case of the double spark plug and for the classic system, respectively, by using COMSOL Multiphysics. In particular, thick film based pH sensors are promising devices for a next generation of wireless sensors for online monitoring of water pollution. So far, there have been many solid state materials used for pH sensor fabrication, among which RuO2 based sensitive material stands out due to its excellent sensitivity and high accuracy. In potentiometric measurements, the RuO2 based pH sensor exhibited excellent sensing performance with sensitivity close to the theoretical Nernstian value. In this work, an interdigitated conductimetric pH sensor based on RuO2 sensitive layer was fabricated by screen printing technology on an alumina substrate. The RuO2 sensitive layer was deposited on the top of the interdigitated Ag electrode. The impedance spectroscopic studies carried out in the frequency range of 10 mHz - 2 MHz revealed a decrease in the sensor resistance when it was exposed to the test solutions with increasing pH value. The relative change in conductance was found to be almost linear function of pH in the range of 3-11 at 1 kHz. Three patients (age 20-30) with severe chronic apical periodontitis were treated using non-surgical endodontic treatment. For each patient, conventional periapical radiographs were taken before and after treatment completion as well as after 24 months. The endodontic therapy used the usual stages of chemo-mechanical root canals preparation and calcium hydroxide paste for 14 days. The root canal obturation was performed with gutta-percha cones and endodontic sealer Endoflas (Sanlor) with antibacterial and remineralisation properties. The pairs of digitized radiographs were submitted to the radiodensitometric analysis (video processing). The signs of apical bone healing were observed on conventional radiographs and digitized radiographs after 24 months, for all treated patients. The degree of bone remineralisation for the cases with partial bone healing varied between 73.33% and 90.99%. The proposed device is designed for on-field measurements and monitoring of a sample's thermal effusivity, when the investigated liquid is a semi-infinite layer. The composite PPE sensor is in fact a planar multilayered system, developed in order to have a rigid external surface and to allow picking - up the PPE signal by only accessing one side of the ensemble while the other side can be completely submerged in a liquid. The device is meant to be equipped with an internal preamplifier and an internal controlled current source in order to increase its independence and consequently in order to use it as a remote measurement device. A modulation signal conditioner has also been designed in order to provide a control voltage for the current source which drives the LED. The measurement device along with the modulation signal's conditioner, with the current source, and with the preamplifier is intended to be used with any embedded control system, provided with a multichannel analog to digital converter and which can deliver two control analog signals.
