In Chile the language schools are responsible for teaching children between 3 to 6 years, with difficulties in expression and understanding of language. These children have a degree of specific language impairment (SLI). The integration of ICT in learning activities has a great importance to enhance the skills of children. There are mobile applications that perform these activities, but most of them don't reflect the Chilean culture. This paper describes a learning object called Explorando Aprendo, which contains different educational activities, fostering phonological, semantic and morphosyntactic levels of language. The main result was the Exlorando Aprendo creation with an architecture that integrates recreational activities for language improvement, implemented under an structure that allows integration of new activities. Currently the learning object is available in Google Play with over 100 downloads.","PeriodicalId":271823,"journal":{"name":"2016 XI Latin American Conference on Learning Objects and Technology (LACLO)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127729268","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In children's recreational therapies such as game therapy, one of the ways that professionals uses to understand the important issues of child development and aspects of their relationship with friends and familiars is through fantasy. In this sense, children's books and fairy and folk tales are important tools. On the other hand, the games bring the playful aspect in the educational universe, helping educators to better understand certain aspects of child development. The proposal of Sand Castle game is, in addition of being a fun tool, be an useful instrument to aid in therapeutic and educational processes. Designed for tablets, it can be used by children from 4 years.","PeriodicalId":271823,"journal":{"name":"2016 XI Latin American Conference on Learning Objects and Technology (LACLO)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134424540","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the Tecnológico de Costa Rica, a problem related to course planning has been identified it is the low detail of the courses planing, associated with the relation between the content and the competences, evaluations and learning objectives, there is not a logical flow on the courses planning. Also the tools used by instructors are not well integrated with their LMS (Learning Management System), which turns the course planning task difficult to track and reinforce. In this context, a web-based application called Instructional Design Tool has been created with the goal to aid instructors in the course planning task, making easier and guided this process by intuitive and usable tool integrated into an LMS, and based on the instructional design theories. To validate our approach, we applied System Usability Scale and eye-tracking tests. The results were interesting, inasmuch they shown the utility of the tool and some improvement points to do.","PeriodicalId":271823,"journal":{"name":"2016 XI Latin American Conference on Learning Objects and Technology (LACLO)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125071436","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They allow the showing, through concepts and relationships, how knowledge about a subject is organized. Technological advances have boosted the development of technological approaches that help the automatic construction of a map, in order to facilitate and provide the benefits of that resource more broadly. Because of the need to better identify and analyze the functionalities and characteristics of the technological approaches inserted in this context, we developed a categorization based on bibliographic review of the area between 1994 and 2015. This work aims to present the proposed categorization and the main features and limitations of the approaches studied observing this categorization.","PeriodicalId":271823,"journal":{"name":"2016 XI Latin American Conference on Learning Objects and Technology (LACLO)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121610754","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although the benefits of the dialogue in different learning contexts, dialogue is affected by several factors such as the interest of student in the topic, tutor's affective attitude to student, student's self-esteem and in some cases when the student is intimidated by peers. On the other hand, the trend of education is distance learning through computational tools. For that reason, analyze some real problems in student-tutor interaction and design a solution using technology will be potential research line. The aim of this study is to gain a better understanding of the problems in the dialogue process in learning. First we identified the factors that affect the student-tutor dialogue and we design a research framework for survey analysis. Then, we applied questionnaires survey to approximately 100 students in Mexico to determine the impacts of these factors. Also, we presented a Chi Square statistical analysis of these results. The analysis shows that affectivity from the tutor motivates the students to dialogue with the tutor and student's personality, easiness of a topic and classmates causes lack of dialogue. Findings from this research will serve as a useful reference for the design of dialogue modules for learning systems. Finally, we introducing a dialogue conceptual model as a solution to these factors using computational tools.","PeriodicalId":271823,"journal":{"name":"2016 XI Latin American Conference on Learning Objects and Technology (LACLO)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124422899","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
