It was transformed in the application of Kurikulum 2013, in which the object of the learning process is more emphasis on phenomena or real events. But, the learning methods are still unvaried, and learning materials based on real-life problems are still not available, which creates a performance gap in the learning process. This research aims to cope with the performance gap by developing the saints, environment, technology, and society (SETS)-oriented module on petroleum topic and determine the students' response. The module developed in this research is done following a phase of the ADDIE developmental model. This developmental model consists of analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This SETS-oriented module has been trialed to 30 second-grade students of SMA Negeri 8 Kota Serang. According to validation and students' response, the SETS-oriented module developed is valid and got 87,37% of an average percentage of response, which includes great criteria.","PeriodicalId":269986,"journal":{"name":"EduChemia (Jurnal Kimia dan Pendidikan)","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-11-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115012457","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Contaminants that are too high such as nitrites and manganese will have a negative impact if consumed continuously. In this research, the synthesis of activated carbon from Plantain stems as an adsorbent for nitrite (NO 2 ˉ) and manganese (Mn 2+ )contaminants has been carried out. Synthesis of activated carbon from Plantain stem (ACPS) was carried out with a carbon: H 3 PO 4 impregnation ratio of 1:6 (w/w) and heating using a furnace at 600 o C for an hour. Characterization of ACPS using an Infrared Spectrophotometer showed the presence of functional groups C-H, C = H, C≡C, C-O, P-O, and C-NH 3 + or P-H bonds. The results of characterization by XRD showed that the ACPS was amorphous but little crystalline. In the adsorption study, the adsorption isotherms of ACPS on NO 2 ˉ and Mn 2+ ions followed the Redlich-Peterson isotherm with R 2 values of 0.9968 and 0.4753, respectively. The adsorption kinetics of ACPS on NO 2 ˉ and Mn 2+ ions followed the Diffusion Intraparticle model with R 2 values of 0.8585 for NO 2 ˉ ions and Pseudo Second Order with R 2 values of 0.9482 for Mn2+ ions. In the study of the adsorption efficiency of NO 2 ˉ and Mn 2+ ions using ACPS on well water in the Guyangan Jepara villages, it was found that the reduction efficiency was 15%, only at NO 2 ˉ ion levels.","PeriodicalId":269986,"journal":{"name":"EduChemia (Jurnal Kimia dan Pendidikan)","volume":"80 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122834750","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
