In the study, the unequal distribution of alternating current in these conducting media (so-called skin-effect) is taken into account. In Cartesian coordinate system a geometrical model of a two-phase medium consisting of rectangular copper electrode and rectangular sample of biological tissue is considered. A model of such kind allowed us to reduce the problem to a plane-parallel case. A numerical experiment is implemented in MATLAB environment, using the finite difference method. To solve the problem of heat transfer, the electromagnetic problem is solved in the first place. As a result, the temperature distribution in a two-phase medium cooled by physiological saline during the flow of high-frequency current is simulated. The model showed that the surfaces of the electrodes and the biological tissue in contact with them do not overheat, and the maximal temperature value lies in the depth of the tissue. This model can be used to study thermal processes during high-frequency surgical intrusion with a tool having rectangular electrodes, in a wide frequency range.","PeriodicalId":269665,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 38th International Conference on Electronics and Nanotechnology (ELNANO)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129185802","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The complex permittivity of water-glucose solutions measurements were carried out using a designed waveguide-differential dielectrometer. It allows us the real-time determination of the pharmaceutical ingredients existence in water solution by measuring the wave phase and amplitudes differences in a dielectrometer differential measurement cavity. Minimal glucose concentration limits in water solution are 0.28% and 0.059% have been obtained using the values of measured phase and amplitude differences, respectively. Using these values we have obtained the minimum concentration limit of glucose in the water solution as 1.5 and 0.33 mmol/l, respectively. These results can be compared with known high-cost methods. The waveguide-differential dielectrometer can be applied for the determination of the complex permittivity of any water solutions, for example, water-glucose solutions at microwaves that allow us to find out physical parameters of the liquid under test.","PeriodicalId":269665,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 38th International Conference on Electronics and Nanotechnology (ELNANO)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127695260","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The structure of this system includes nine articulation tables of speech monosyllables of consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) type and a set of computer programs that allow automating most of the stages of articulation test. Examination of the proposed automated system proved its efficiency and satisfactory consistency with literature data. At the same time, when testing the developed software, several interesting phenomena were discovered. First, when listening, by some people, to noisy and reverberated signals in rooms through acoustic monitors, speech intelligibility turned out to be abnormally high, reaching 80-94% for a signal-to-noise ratio of minus 10 dB and a reverberation time of 2.7 seconds. Secondly, the masking properties of white noise were more pronounced for small signal-to-noise ratios, rather than what was predicted in some literary sources. Nevertheless, the developed software as a whole can be considered as suitable for communication channels acoustic testing. After certain upgrade, the system can be used for acoustic examination of rooms too.","PeriodicalId":269665,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 38th International Conference on Electronics and Nanotechnology (ELNANO)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127778823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Stabilogram, the curve reflecting the change of person's Center of Pressure (COP) location during balance maintenance, which results in three variables that depend on time - COP point ($boldsymbol{x}, boldsymbol{y}$ coordinates) and force applied to that point, was measured during six tasks. For each next task, part of a biological systems that participate in maintaining balance was excluded (visual system first, then proprioception system, then both). COP parameters were obtained in two domains: time (mean and standard deviation of normalized COP coordinates in sagittal and frontal plane, mean and standard deviation of module of normalized COP speed in sagittal and frontal plane, mean and standard deviation of module of normalized COP acceleration in sagittal and frontal plane) and frequency (spectral density power ratio in four frequency ranges: [0; 0.5], [0.5; 1], [1; 1.5], [1.5; 4] Hz for the frontal and sagittal planes). It was found that decrease of posture stability leads to increase of the frequency and amplitude of the COP fluctuations and spectral power is redistributed from low to the higher frequencies. Also, frequency and amplitude of the COP projection in the frontal plane is growing faster than in the sagittal, so instability in the frontal plane is larger due to less contact area of the foot with the supporting surface.","PeriodicalId":269665,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 38th International Conference on Electronics and Nanotechnology (ELNANO)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130740674","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Running under hot environmental conditions can be associated with health risks for the runner, such as hyperthermia and dehydration. This study examines air temperature impact on physiological state during a run. Developed computer simulator predicts the dynamics of body temperatures, water loss, heat flows, blood flow, and other runner's parameters throughout a race. The analysis of modelling results has shown that within air temperature range of 16 to 24 °C there is no hyperthermia hazard to the runner, only due to enhanced sweating followed by water evaporation from the body surface. The higher air temperature, the more fluid has to be spent on the cooling of runner's body. Proposed computer model allows for quantitative assessment of the dependency of runner's thermophysiological parameters on environment temperature. Based on these data, the computer simulator provides relevant recommendations.","PeriodicalId":269665,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 38th International Conference on Electronics and Nanotechnology (ELNANO)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132569998","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was found that in cases when children have normal middle ear condition, the volume of the outer acoustic meatus is equal to the equivalent volume of the ear at the resonance frequency, which allows determining the norm parameter and the volume of the tympanum even with a single-frequency tympanometer. It is shown that the oscillation amplitude of the auditory sensitivity threshold for acoustic pressure at the resonance frequency is equal to the quality of the middle ear. This represents a new diagnostic technique at the functional (reversible) level. A simple technique for diagnosing hearing of newborns based on the genetic relationship between the formants of sound “a” and the resonant frequency of the middle ear is proposed.","PeriodicalId":269665,"journal":{"name":"2018 IEEE 38th International Conference on Electronics and Nanotechnology (ELNANO)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121958496","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
