The purpose of this platform is the evaluation of the usability and usage of a wide range of interactive systems: from classic systems to ubiquitous environments. For this, the platform was designed as a large theater where acts could be played. The relevance of the design choices (surface, ground plane, automation) was validated through several experiments that were successfully carried out on the platform.","PeriodicalId":269028,"journal":{"name":"Ergonomie Et Informatique Avancée","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-10-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129045807","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But how worthwhile is this for citizens? Is their quality of life improved? This article describes the application of the Worth Centered Design (WCD), proposed by G. Cockton, for identifying the worth of a context-aware recommender system, Cocoon. The work presented in this paper concerns the first phase of the WCD framework: analysis of needs. This work has been done through individual interviews. This study allowed us to understand the worth of Cocoon from a user point of view and establish key requirements for design. These outcomes are presented here as well as the protocol of interviews. To end, we discuss advantages and limitations of the Worth Centered Design.","PeriodicalId":269028,"journal":{"name":"Ergonomie Et Informatique Avancée","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-10-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124762339","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the car driving framework, cinematographic car chases have their followers. This study investigates the links between cinematographic car chases appreciation, the subsequent reactions and the driving style of the viewers. Twenty-four young drivers were rigorously selected. They were either cinematographic car chases followers or not (A+/A-). They had to watch short sequences including or not a car chase. Emotional ratings of car chases scenes are significantly different between groups. Moreover, electrodermal reactivity is higher for the A+ group in the car chase condition than in the neutral one. Whereas no difference were observed between groups concerning the driving experience, the annual mileage and the number of reported accidents, car chases followers reported better driving skills than non-followers. Several others relations had been highlighted, emphasing the complex tangle between reality and fiction.","PeriodicalId":269028,"journal":{"name":"Ergonomie Et Informatique Avancée","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-10-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129190039","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, in the theoretical field of emotions, research on the recognition of emotional facial expressions (EFE) is mainly based on static and posed databases tested in unnatural contexts (explicit recognition task of an emotion).\u0000 Our research has constructed and validated a database, DynEmo, with dynamic and spontaneous emotional facial expressions. So different facial interface designs (whole face, zoomed face, eyes + mouth, whole face + mouth, whole face + eyes, etc., n = 11) are experimentally compared to find their impact in terms of emotional recognition.\u0000 The results show the facial interface design relevance in terms of emotional recognition. Until now, plasticity was the scope of various studies. The adaptation from a context of use to another was studied in order to satisfy the end-user's requirements. This paper changes the focus: plasticity in itself is not the scope anymore; it is viewed as a way for designers to improve UI quality. The iterative design process is detailed for a case study where all design decisions have been recorded in terms of their influence on UI ergonomic quality. The case study deals with e-goverrment procedures. The return of experience shows that paying attention to plasticity for a small screen platform results in improvements on the large screen platform version due to the reexamination of its initial design.","PeriodicalId":269028,"journal":{"name":"Ergonomie Et Informatique Avancée","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-10-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131799272","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The major goal of such solicitations was for children to ask for navigation help. The type of questions and associated answers vary according to the child and the evaluation of learning situation. This article will discuss the benefits in terms of usability of educational software that include an intelligent and emotional companion as support navigation help for 6 years old children. Building on the results of experiments of Iroplan (a computer assisted learning system to help in the apprenticeship of reading), we analyze the interactions induced by the three entities: Teacher -- Computer -- Learner. Then, we'll overview a state of art on the use of companions in educational software. Third, we present Tago -- the companion created for Iroplan -- under its HCI and AI aspects. The version of Iroplan with Tago has been the subject of a usability test on 26 children whose first result will be exposed in the last part, along with their adequation in answering the interaction issues forementioned.","PeriodicalId":269028,"journal":{"name":"Ergonomie Et Informatique Avancée","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-10-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125963128","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During tests, subjects were confronted with a work situation characterized by multisollicitations induced by different distractors while performing a monitoring task. Using different tools, we have collected the performance, their emotional reactions and the subjective feeling. A multivariate analysis was used to study the behavior of subjects facing the multisollicitations. These first results open new opportunities for the analysis of work situations and evaluation of innovative products as the Platform PEPSS is reconfigurable and adaptable according to new needs.","PeriodicalId":269028,"journal":{"name":"Ergonomie Et Informatique Avancée","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-10-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130821618","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its objective was to prevent misunderstandings that can occur within the collective. We are interested to misunderstandings related to the design meetings, and the meeting's minutes associated as memories of meetings and as a way to prevent misunderstandings. We found that 1 to 5% of the meeting is included in the minutes and that some issues still not finalized or confidential are not included in the meeting's minutes. Furthermore, we show that not logged information cannot be heard by the co-designers: 20 to 100% of them attend the meeting with their laptop and work on other tasks in parallel. We propose some organizational recommendations (format of the minutes, temporal organization of the meeting) to overcome these difficulties.","PeriodicalId":269028,"journal":{"name":"Ergonomie Et Informatique Avancée","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-10-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133479309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
