The objective was to determine the optimal process design and operating conditions for a given water production. Although the model was derived from a simplified hypothesis, it considers all the most important aspects of the process. The model takes into account the water demand constraints (urban domestic water consumption, industrial water, agricultural water, rural water and ecological water), water supply and its balance constraints. The resulting mathematical model contains inherently nonlinear and nonconvex constraints. The algorithm optimization was applied to the simplified model developed previously by a kind of linear iterative calculation of an approbatory least-square sphere fitting model. The global optimal solutions obtained by the algorithm provide scientific allocation schemes for water resources sustainable utilization. Moreover, these solutions are used as a starting point to solve more complex models efficiently (1) . A case study is presented and discussed in order to illustrate the methodology and computational performance. Results show that it is simple and convenient to use global optimization to find the solution of water resources sustainable use allocation. Especially, it is very effective to solve the problems with multi-scale and non-linear constraints in resource management.","PeriodicalId":267621,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Management and Service Science","volume":"141 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114056498","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is obvious that the OS security is the essential precondition and foundation of the whole computer information system security. In this article, firstly, it discussed the importance of the OS security; secondly, it further introduced the OS security mechanism, security demand, security policy and security model; finally, it discussed the host vulnerability evaluation, and put forward the function that a testing all-around host evaluation tool ought to carry out. The 2001 Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR) identified logistics transformation as a key transformation pillar. Specifically, the QDR mandated logistics enterprise integration, a reduction in logistics demand, and a reduction in the cost of logistics. One tool the Department of Defense (DOD) identified for use in achieving these goals is performance-based logistics (PBL). Using research findings and available scholarly studies of PBL implementation, this article will examine PBL as a means of sustainment, beginning with a working definition and concept of PBL and examination of DOD and service policy, as well as key components of PBL implementation, to include stakeholder roles and responsibilities, business case analysis, development of performance metrics, and barriers and enablers to implementation.","PeriodicalId":267621,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Management and Service Science","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122171782","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
