The realization of this investigation enables the broad recognition of the importance of this river to the local population as well as reveals the main problems that affect the environmental water, soil, vegetation, and fauna conditions. It was accomplished a wide bibliographic revision related to the theme and most importantly the federal, state, and municipal legislative documents about the superficial hydric resources, \"in loco\" visits for observations, photographic records, and interviews with residents close to the high, medium and low curse of the river. The investigation apprehended the existence of negative impacts in diverse locals, such as erosion, deforestation, silting, pollution, and reduced flow of the water body caused by intense human activities, however, it was also registered in varied points areas in positive states of preservation. The research also presents suggestions of action and management to the reversion of the degradation state in the Mirinzal river, so that it will be guaranteed to the future apicum-açuense generations the maintenance of this significant course of water to the municipality and its total population.","PeriodicalId":263940,"journal":{"name":"International Journal Semiarid","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133835502","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a given territory, landscapes that present special characteristics, with particular and significant attributes that qualify them with heritage value, deserve and need to be preserved. This work aimed to present the potential from a scientific, didactic, cultural and aesthetic point of view of the Complex Poço da Bebidinha geomorphosite. Thus, the aim is to perpetuate the understanding of geodiversity and related topics and make residents and visitors feel sensitized about its scientific, landscape/aesthetic and cultural importance, since the geomorphosite evidenced here can foster educational practices addressing socio-environmental issues. The methodology was supported by a bibliographic survey, desk work and field inspection for identification and characterization of the geomorphosite from filling in the inventory form proposed by Oliveira (2015). It is recommended by the public manager the installation of access roads and infrastructure, with the creation of partnerships with schools, universities and the local community, in order to create visitation programs to the area, properly programmed, guided and with a view to valorization, dissemination and conservation. It is concluded that, for having a rich collection of pre-colonial engravings allied to the scientific/didactic value, the Complex Poço da Bebidinha geomorphosite, in addition to corresponding to a “place of memory” of past populations, products of culture, has great potential for the understanding of part of the evolutionary history of the earth, from the geological and geomorphological aspects evidenced in the place and that requires conservation.","PeriodicalId":263940,"journal":{"name":"International Journal Semiarid","volume":"127 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115501836","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Geodiversity, compared tobiodiversity, does not yet have the same prestige and political position. In the Brazilian semiaridregion, there are still many gaps related to the knowledge of geodiversity. In 2022, the SeridóGlobal Geopark was recognized by UNESCO as a territory that provides an intriguing insight intothe Earth’s history through its unique natural landscape, cultural and culinary history. Among themunicipalities inserted in the territory of the Seridó Geopark is Acari-RN, which has richgeodiversity. The objective of this work was to present an integrated analysis of the geodiversityof the municipality of Acarí-RN, encompassing information related to variety of geological,geomorphological, pedological and hydrological features and processes. Fieldwork was carriedout, we identified and mapped landforms and their physiognomic aspects and georeferenced usingportable GPS. We collected soils to represent the different landforms. A ten geosites werecharacterized in the municipality, four of them belonging to the Seridó Geopark, in which we alsosought to consider the information about the relief and soils. In the present work, the term\"integrated analysis of geodiversity\" was used in order to encourage debate and to make it clearthat geodiversity is not limited to geological aspects. The integrated analysis of geodiversity canbe a subsidy for geotourism, regional valorization of the semiarid and also preservation of theCaatinga biome. The purpose of this research is to understand the distribution and characterization of sediments collected in the Santo Antônio River Basin, located in the Serra da Canastra National Park – MG and surroundings, in order to evaluate the dynamics of sediment transport that occur in this space. Through textural analysis and the study of the genetics of the samples collected in the river channels, they are the result of dynamic processes that collaborate for the sculpting of the regional relief. These channels carry sediments, which were collected in a total of 51 points and, for each sampling point, 50 discontinuous grains with three different diameters were evaluated: 0.600mm; 0.850mm; 1.70mm. In all, approximately 7,650 grains were evaluated. Enabling the quali-quantification of the grains on their sphericity, roundness and the lithological aspect of the material. From the analyzes carried out with the granulometry method by sieving and observation by a precision portable digital type magnifier, monocular, 1000x magnification with a 2.0 megapixel camera. The results point to a greater number of sediments with low sphericity, roundness of the very angular to angular type, with predominance of material of geological aspect such as quartz, laterite and mica.","PeriodicalId":263940,"journal":{"name":"International Journal Semiarid","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114130571","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its genesis is related to successive cycles of wetting and drying, especially pronounced under conditions of imperfectly or poorly drained soils. There are still many gaps in the literature on the genesis, evolution and dynamics of the processes involved in areas with Gilgais in Brazil, so studies aimed at understanding their patterns of occurrence are necessary. Thus, the aim of this study is a morphological characterization of Gilgais, in the Potiguar semi-arid region, to verify the hypothesis of homogeneity of its patterns of regional occurrence. The analyzed data refer to two sampling sites, where a total of 120 micro-reliefs were measured, in relation to their height, width and distance between micromounds. Descriptive statistical analysis and ANOVA analysis of variance were applied to the data, seeking to understand the patterns of occurrence of microreliefs. The Gilgai microreliefs observed in the two sampling sites present morphological patterns specific to each site, and differ in some aspects. In both places studied, the micro-reliefs were classified as isometric shapes with no defined orientation. However, in terms of height, width and distance between micromounds, the two sampling sites present statistically significant differences, demonstrated through the analysis of variance of the ANOVA statistical test. This indicates that despite having similar shapes, the size proportions and spacing patterns of the micro-reliefs found in each location are different, ruling out the hypothesis of homogeneous patterns of regional occurrence.","PeriodicalId":263940,"journal":{"name":"International Journal Semiarid","volume":"282 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114527692","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
