However, SAPF controllers based on this method require a stable grid fundamental frequency in order to operate properly. In case of isolated electrical grids suffering severe PQ disturbances, which is the case of ships electrical systems, the fundamental grid frequency can be very unstable, which reduces the SAPF performance due to an erroneous evaluation of the equivalent averaged load conductance (Ge). This paper presents a new approach for the evaluation of Ge which attenuates the impact of frequency variations. As a consequence, the performance of the SAPF is improved. Simulation results are given in order to evaluate the proposed controller.","PeriodicalId":262939,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117315068","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is contact-free type; it can eliminate mechanical components (e.g. gears, guide, ball bearings), reduce the mechanical alignment and maintenance cost, satisfy environmental demand, and enable the carrier to travel at high speed with high precision and acceleration. In this paper, the investigation, design, simulation and fabrication of a magnetic levitated linear motion system are addressed, based on switched reluctance (SR). The proposed system resolves the problems of mechanical wear, friction, noise, heat generation, and ldquometal dustrdquo contamination, and it is very suitable for applications that require high-performance linear motions: from high-precision manufacturing machines, clean-room wafer carrier systems, to high-speed material transportation in factories and warehouses. The proposed system employs a novel linear machine structure which uses four coils for levitation, and three coils for propulsion. Comparing to permanent-magnet (PM) track levitation, high-temperature superconductor levitation, and other existing magnetic levitation methods, the proposed system has a much simpler structure. It can lower manufacturing cost and increase reliability. In this paper, we firstly discussed the mechanical structure of the proposed levitation system and the model of the actuators. Then, finite element analysis (FEA) was carried out for both the propulsion and levitation actuators to verify the electromagnetic characteristics of the motion system. Finally, a control algorithm, which includes PID and nonlinear force control was discussed. The levitation system was simulated by Matlab Simulink, to achieve a stable and high-precision position control. The simulation results were very satisfactory and it validated the design concept.","PeriodicalId":262939,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122169348","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But it can not meet the demands of data processing and sampling in some complex or high-speed occasions. By making use of FPGA in this paper, the problems will be easily resolved. In accordance with the usual requirements, I/O expansion, PWM generator, A/D sampling preconditioning, and data processing modules were constructed as the basic function modules. The dSPACE real-time controlled object through the FPGA, and captured the data from the FPGApsilas collection. Experiments showed that this method could effectively compensate for the deficiencies in the traditional dSPACE application, and enhance the platformpsilas functions. More important was that this way could save the consumption of the dSPACE platform resources, improve the system frequency, and make the dSPACE systems to accomplish more complex HIL simulation.","PeriodicalId":262939,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics","volume":"328 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123935493","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The first one is based on the direct adaptive control schemes and the model reference adaptive control system (MRAS) is used. As a speed controller, the neuro-fuzzy sliding mode controller (NFSC) is utilized. The torsional vibrations are successfully suppressed in the control structure with only one basic feedback from the motor speed. The damping ability of the proposed system has been confirmed for a wide range of system parameters. The second control structure is based on the indirect adaptive control scheme. As an identification tool, the extended nonlinear Kalman filter (ENKF) which estimates the non-measurable states and the parameters (time constant of the load machine) of the system is used. The information of the estimated parameter is used to retune on-line the control structure coefficients. To improve the performance of the ENKF the additional algorithm, which is changing, the covariance matrix Q is applied. The simulation results are confirmed by laboratory experiments.","PeriodicalId":262939,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129893302","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it is difficult for digital amplifier to achieve high fidelity due to switching characteristic, parasitic capacitance, internal resistance of power supply, voltage ripple and core loss of inductor. Especially, the internal resistance and core loss have great influences on digital amplifier signal. So, these problems have to be discussed in two sections. On the basic principle of digital amplifier, it can be deduced that the value of peak flux density Bpk varies with pulse duration of PDM. Since core of iron power with ideal magnetic characteristics is often recommended for design of inductor of digital amplifier, Oliver model is fit to calculate the core loss. Due to the complexity of Oliver model and discrepancies of Steinmetz model, a new model of core loss is put forward. In the model, the original PCM signal can be compensated by utilizing an advanced compensation method. In addition, an equivalent circuit model of power stage can also be deduced from the principle of difference amplifier. In the model, it is found that the amplitude of pulse wave decreases while the duty ratio increasing because of the existence of internal resistance of power supply. When pulse signal can be converted into analog signal by LC filter, distortion of amplifier gets more deteriorated. So, another compensated equation is put forward to compensate the PCM signal. At last, the original PCM signal is compensated by the above mentioned methods. According to these compensated theories, a high fidelity signal of digital amplifier will be obtained. Test results do also prove that these methods are effective and correct.","PeriodicalId":262939,"journal":{"name":"2008 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129917377","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
