This research has selected the printing industry in the Metropolitan District of Quito, seeking to analyze the participation of SMEs in public procurement in the period 2010-2015, considering three variables: participation in award amounts and number of enterprises; procurement procedure used; and public entities with greater fiscal allocation. The analysis considers: the information from the National Public Procurement Service; Superintendence of Companies; and the results of research conducted with representatives of SMEs in the graphic sector. The aim is to answer the following questions: Do SMEs in the graphics industry know how to participate in public procurement processes? Have SMEs in the graphics sector been involved in public procurement processes? What is the participation of SMEs in the graphics sector in public procurement, in the past few years? This study presents the situation of the graphics sector in procurement processes and the ability to perform the same analysis to other sectors.","PeriodicalId":261880,"journal":{"name":"Faedpyme International Review","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-02-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122098283","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

(Nelson, 2013). Our research question is about the today’s situation of innovation in the Republic of Cuba, because it could be the seed of a hypothetical S.I.N. So, our aim is to analyze the existence of statistically significant differences in Cuban small businesses performance by regions for the period 2011-2014 taking into account innovations and rationalizations implemented during the period 2006-2009. We also study whether the environment favors innovation. The results show that provinces with an index of innovations and rationalizations above average, get higher performance. In addition, we observe how those provinces that are in less complex environments, have a lower propensity to perform innovations.","PeriodicalId":261880,"journal":{"name":"Faedpyme International Review","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-02-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128487259","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is intended to generate inputs to the transformation of microenterprises into better equipped, innovative and job-generating organizations in a highly competitive global context. The methodological strategy of this research was to gather information via a stratified sample of the management functions: planning, organizing, directing and controlling. The results indicate that the level of education and age of microentrepreneurs are the most significant variables to explain the different levels of the management process. In addition, the detected deficiencies in the administrative functions within the microenterprises of the southern Isthmus of Tehuantepec are consistent with their life expectancies, which do not exceed four years.","PeriodicalId":261880,"journal":{"name":"Faedpyme International Review","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131630772","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The methods used is descriptive techniques and the results generated depend on the selected period of time, they suggested that the electric-electronic sector is highly localized in the northeastern regions and northwestern Mexico, more specifically, in the states of Baja California, Chihuahua and Tamaulipas. However, the state of Baja California Sur has a zero activity in the electric-electronic sector.
