By this way, we allow extension of some classical control design as backstepping and feedback linearization to a class of underactuated system to which these approaches fail to be applied initially. Specially, a systematic backstepping strategy is applied to stabilize the Tora system to show the effectiveness of the procedure. However, due to the transformation, one assumption in the control scheme is verified only on a domain rather then the hole space. The control law derived from this procedure can still be applied but the stability is not global. In order to make the latter global, we propose to switch to an other control near the singularities. The simulation results for using the hybrid switching control are given.","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"117 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114601663","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two different objectives are considered to be optimized at once. Our first contribution is to propose a special encoding for the studied problem. Then, our second contribution is that a new metaheuristic based on the Lorenz dominance relationship (L-NSGA) is developed here to solve the studied problem. The goal is to improve the search ability of the original metaheuristic which is based on the Pareto dominance relationship (NSGA-II). The experimental result shows the efficiency of L-NSGA to solve this problem.","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114217490","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this system, OFDM transmission method has been used, in order to reduce the effect of multipath fading and OFDMA in order to achieve multiple access schemes and flexibility in resource allocation. An adaptive method for subchannels allocation is necessary in order to exploit the multiuser diversity, to respect real time constraints and to maximize the capacity system. The proposed algorithm is based in the channel state information (CSI) of total mobiles stations present in the cell. The idea of this method is based in the statistic parameters, mean, variance, root mean square or RMS of the gain of frequency response channel for every mobile station. These parameters are the key to organize the different MS's and subchannels priority. Numerical results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms an allocation scheme in terms of Bloc Error Rate, higher system capacity and fairness among active users, compared to others previous methods.","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124320817","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The complexity of these systems is important. This complexity can make fault appearance very often. For this reason, the diagnosis task is needed as it is one of the key technologies guaranteeing the system safety and reliability. In this context, this paper deals with discrete event systems diagnosis. We propose a general approach based on the use of Petri Nets in order to on-line diagnose multiple event and state faults. Petri Nets are particularly useful as they are intuitive graphical modelling language and advanced formal analysis method. Nowadays, they are considered as one of the main formalisms for modelling, analysis and control of discrete event systems (DES). Petri Nets are used, in our work, for modelling and diagnosis purposes. The proposed approach consists in defining a diagnosis Coverability tree and using invariants to check the system place and state faults. To test the effectiveness of the proposed approach a diagnosis benchmark is used: the three-tank hydraulic system. A comparison between the results given by using the proposed Petri Nets approach and those given by automata tool is finally made.","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121763585","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The spatial multiplexing (SM) MIMO scheme is deployed in LTE and LTE-Advanced downlink to provide high data rates. In this communication, the authors will discuss a set of block decision detection techniques orientated to SM signals in MIMO-OFDM system. Both zero-forcing (ZF) and minimum mean square error (MMSE) schemes based detection versions are presented. Setting out from a novel general model for the evaluation of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at the data detector output, the authors will evaluate the error ratio performance of the novel MIMO detectors and provide comparison results. It will be shown that the simple block decision detectors rather than interference cancellation based schemes provide an attractive coded performance at a lower realization complexity.","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122174046","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This system consists of storage racks moving laterally on rails so that one can open an aisle between any two joint racks, storage/retrieval (S/R) machines, the control system and an input/output (I/O) station. In this paper, our interest was concerned with the mathematical modeling of the average cycle time of the (S/R) machine which is an important criteria of performances for these systems. We developed a continuous analytical expression allowing an approximate calculation of the cycle time of a Mobil -AS/RS. The scope of the study was based on a pilot study [2], which preceded this work. The pilot study was conducted with two objectives in mind: to determine the number and order of trials required and to determine the number of participants needed for this study. The pilot study recommended that the study should consider no less than four trial repetitions for each task. Additionally, the study should employ at least thirteen subjects to ensure that the results are adequate for such contact type tasks. However, the order or randomisation, in which each of the modes is executed, was deemed not to be significant. The study has shown that there were significant differences between the completion time results, and that there was also a significant difference between the real task and any other task involving the use of the VisiTact system. The variation in the immersion level and the visibility of the participant's hand led to significant differences in the task performance, i.e. wearing a Head Mounted Display (HMD) demonstrated a superior performance over other VR modes, in terms of reduced task completion time.","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130786529","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
