In the recent years, many efforts have done for detecting eye automatically and with different image conditions. This paper proposes a method which can automatically detect eye in extensive range of images with different conditions. In the proposed method, region of face is detected by hybrid projection function and morphological operations, and then to identify window of eye, vertical edge dominance map is used. To detect center of pupil, two elliptical masks on eye image is applied. This method has implemented on JAFFE database and compared with 3 well-known methods. The accuracy of 99.53% on this database confirms efficiency of the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"172 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133912663","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This extension method is builds on the current SMO design methods for linear uncertain systems, but it gives a robust estimation of the states in spite of the presence of both uncertainty and time delay. We consider, in this work, a matched uncertainty and a constant time delay input and state. The basic idea in the design consists to combine the SMO concept with a Lyapunov-Krasovskï function which in numerically tractable via Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs) optimization. This design approach ensures the stability of the error estimation system. Besides, the dynamic properties of the observer are also analyzed. An illustrative example is given to show the validity and the applicability of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133957880","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It solves a forbidden state problems characterized by Marking Exclusion Constraint (MEC). A computationally efficient technique to build the supervisor is proposed, which we take in consideration the uncontrollable and/or unobservable nature of some events. The time makes our control policies more permissive by allowing the system to reach more states (marking) which were considered as dangerous marking in partially controllable Marked Graph. We depend on the initial marking as known marking to build time-tables that show us the timeline of marking distribution over the system. These time-tables help to build a Control Law Table (CLT), through analysis the information in this table the supervisor may determine the moment of its intervention.","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134212046","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, this class of systems presents commutations which can be autonomous or driven by some external events. So, the identification of this class of systems is a challenging problem that involves estimation of both parameters of the sub-models, and the partitioning of states, data and input space. In this paper, an approach to modeling this kind of system is introduced and analyzed for observability and identifiability properties.","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114539469","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on Takagi-Sugeno type fuzzy systems, a direct adaptive fuzzy tracking controller is developed by using the backstepping approach. The main advantage of the developed method is that for an n-th order system, only one parameter is needed to be adjusted online. It is proven that, under the appropriate assumptions, the developed scheme can achieve that the output system converges to a small neighborhood of the reference signal and all the signals in the closed-loop system remain bounded. The efficacy of the proposed algorithm is investigated by an illustrative simulation example of one link robot.","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114668374","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the latter several tasks has to be processed in a system and the special feature here is that they must be processed several times on each machines. The system is composed of multiple stages which contain parallel identical machines. Since the tasks must reenter the system at the end of the normal process they create conflict with the following tasks. This problem is NP-Hard and we have developed a metaheuristics to solve it. The latter is an Lorenz Multi-Objective Ant Colony System (L-Ant). In this paper this algorithm becomes a Fuzzy-Logic Controller to adapt parameters α and β at each generation t with respect to the structure of the population in previous generations (t − 1) and (t − 2). The two objectives are the makespan and the total tardiness minimization. In this works we compare the classic L-Ant and the latter improved by FLC (so called Fuzzy Lorenz Ant). These two algorithms are tested on multiple instances adapted from the literature. Finally the comparisons of the results obtained by the algorithms are done with two different multi-objectives measures.","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131984435","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Because of the shortage of the classic internal model control system the performance of the control system will slip back if there exist large errors between the real plant and the model, an adaptive mechanism based on single neuron which can tune the parameters of the internal model and that of controller in the control system on line is designed. The multimodel approach is exploited to represent the direct model by a model basis made up of five linear models, and to construct a controller trained by the corresponding reverse models. The simulation results shows that the adaptive internal model control system designed in this paper has good performance of overcoming deviations of model parameters.","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128209952","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Common types of noise in electrical resistivity data are coherent noise, due to near surface inhomogeneities or electrode effects, random or impulsive noise, resulting from telluric currents, electrode polarization or measurements with low signal-to-noise ratio. The noise detection is based on computing difference between a central sample and its neighbourhood. The detected noisy sample is then removed by a fuzzy based filtering process. Experimental results show the effectiveness of our filter in reducing both coherent and impulsive noise compared to popular median filter. The comparison of the results is based on the Mean-square-error in the inversion process.","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"483 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133471481","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
