Motivated by the recently developed synergetic control we develop an indirect adaptive fuzzy synergetic controller for a non linear system. The latter is forced to evolve according to designer chosen dynamics but without the chattering problem inherent to sliding mode control. Fuzzy inference systems are used to approximate the system model nonlinear functions in an indirect adaptive scheme to account for varying operating conditions as well as for system parameters uncertainties. Further enhancement consisting in finite time convergence is also achieved using a terminal manifold technique. Simulation of stabilization and reference tracking for nonlinear systems illustrates the approach effectiveness while stability is assured in the Lyapounov sense.","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116909864","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Flooding seems to be the best strategy to achieve the dissemination. But, it causes contentions, collisions and redundancy, well known as the ‘Broadcast storm problem’ [5]. Researches faced this problem by decreasing the number of vehicles called to rebroadcast the emergency message. In this paper, we present a new approach to disseminate emergency messages in a vehicular ad hoc network by using the Unicast and the Broadcast modes alternatively. Simulation results show that performances are good compared to the existing protocols.","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125424568","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Semantic matchmaking plays a vital role in the automated and dynamic discovery process of Semantic Web Services and consists in measuring the semantic distance between a requested service and an advertised one. In this paper, an innovative approach to effectively compute the semantic distance between Ontology Web Language for Services (OWL-S) annotated services is proposed. First, an edge-based method for measuring the semantic distance between Web Ontology Language (OWL) concepts is presented. Then, a comparison of the proposed measure and the one presented in a recent related work is made in order to show that our method is more efficient and fine-grained. Finally, some equations to compute semantic matchmaking of service capabilities, which are expressed in terms of inputs and outputs, are presented.","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126951260","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We use an optimization strategy based on Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI), to compute the region of attraction (RA). The main contribution consist in a preliminary estimation of the general form of this region obtained by the trajectory reversed Method. Moreover, an explicit determination of the RA by using a parameterized Lyapunov function is proposed. The parameters are computed by combining Genetic Algorithm and LMI. For solar panel is a typical large flexible structure and generate continuous vibration inevitably under various loads in space environment, the vibration control is necessary. To provide appropriate dynamic parameters for the design of controller, high accuracy mechanics model of flexible space vehicle must be established. The conventional method did not consider the impact of static deformation on the vibration of solar panel, and hold that solar panel vibrates under the base of zero equilibrium position, which actually not accord with the fact that static equilibrium position is varying along the time under the influence of space vehicle orbital motion. In this paper, a novel method of describing the solar panel deformation is proposed, which think the vibration is a vector superposition of static deformation and dynamic deformation. To illustrate the influence of orbital motion on the dynamic traits of solar panel, a simplified curved beam model of solar panel is adopted to simulate the vibration behavior of solar panel undergoing large overall orbital motion.","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122548723","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

WMNs have so many advantages over conventional wireless networks and can be used for various applications. Specifically, WMNs can provide quick and cost-effective Internet connectivity where conventional wired networks impossible to be rolled out. The major disadvantage WMNs however stems from the fact that wireless links' rate is highly affected by physical and environmental conditions which can lead to unpredictable data transmission errors. Changes in environmental conditions also result in asymmetric links characteristics within the network in terms of latency, transmission rates, and data path. In this paper, we conduct simulation study to examine the impact of network path asymmetry on TCP performance over wireless mesh networks. The simulation results we have obtained confirm that network path asymmetry severely degrades TCP performance. We then propose a new TCP enhancement mechanism called TCP-WAM (TCP for wireless asymmetric networks) whose transfer rate during losses is less dependent on ACKs. Finally we evaluate TCP-WAM performance by conducting several simulation experiments and our results indicate that TCP-WAM performs well especially in highly asymmetric environments.","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129627423","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In our work, we consider that the system is formed by the source, the relay antenna and the destination antenna. The relay is situated between the source and destination antenna. We propose to localize the source at the relay antenna. Signal emitted from relay to destination antenna contains information related to source location. At destination antenna, relay antenna position will be estimated and then we can estimate the source location. In each localization procedure, RSS measurements are used to estimate distances and MUSIC algorithm is applied to estimate the angle of arrival (AOA).","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129711386","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it is very important that validity of user input is checked beforehand to avoid failures of service caused by unexpected user operation on Web application systems. We have proposed a method of model-driven requirements analysis using Unified Modeling Language (UML). The main feature of our method is to automatically generate a Web user interface (UI) prototype from UML requirements analysis model (RA model) so that we can confirm validity of input/output data for each page and page transition on the system by directly operating the prototype. The weakness of current our method is that there is a possibility that customers and developers miss such troublesome unexpected user operations because confirmation is only based on viewing of them. This paper proposes the improved method from the viewpoint of validity and usability so as to avoid failures of service which is caused by unexpected user operation on Web application systems.","PeriodicalId":259067,"journal":{"name":"2011 International Conference on Communications, Computing and Control Applications (CCCA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-03","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129791056","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
