Percutaneous Tibial Nerve Stimulation (PTNS) is one of the neuromodulations used to treat OAB. A modified electrical stimulator was used for PTNS with the same parameters as Urgent®PC. This study aims to determine whether PTNS with a modified electrical stimulator will give improvement in OAB and if there are any complications. In this case series, six patients (three males and three females) diagnosed with OAB were treated with PTNS using a modified electrical stimulator device (Everyway EV-807P NMES). Electrical stimulations were applied once a week for 12 weeks and each treatment was done for 30 minutes. Reduced urinary frequency is determined as improvement and assessed at 6th and 12th weeks. Four patients reported improvement. No complications have been reported. In this case series, PTNS with a modified electrical stimulator may reduce urinary frequency and maybe a safe option to treat patients with symptoms from OAB. Need further research to know the definitive result.","PeriodicalId":258037,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 11th National Congress and the 18th Annual Scientific Meeting of Indonesian Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Association","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124439632","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Mirror neuron as a visuomotor neuron will activated in relation to movement of body parts or in observation of the actions. Several studies have examined this network and properties in humans and prove the mechanisms in enhancing neuroplasticity. Although there are many studies for on the mirror neuron system, several questions remain unanswered. The motor imagery and virtual reality as the practical approach studies in post stroke rehabilitation also showed none of this approach was absolutely superior to each other. To increase the comprehension of mirror neuron system involvement in post stroke rehabilitation, this article is try to focusing on the review of motor imagery and virtual reality approach that use the principle.","PeriodicalId":258037,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 11th National Congress and the 18th Annual Scientific Meeting of Indonesian Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Association","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129584721","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This function has been known to be effectively correlated with mucus clearance and effective cough. Other than general muscle weakness, COPD patients generally have altered body structures to the chronic hyperventilation condition. Structural adaptations include thoracic kyphosis with forward head posture (FHP). This study aimed to quantify the severity of FHP and observe its impacts on PFR in COPD patients. We recruited a small cohort of COPD patients in the outpatient clinic of the Medical Rehabilitation Department, Persahabatan Hospital, Jakarta. The peak flow meter will be used to measure PFR, while FHP will be measured as occiput to wall distance, measured in centimeters. Additional records such as submaximal exercise testing, peak cough flow (PCF) and COPD Assessment Test (CAT) score will be obtained as well. An independent T-test will be performed on the data to obtain the difference of PFR among severity grades of FHP. In this study, eight patients acquired, they were all above the age of 60, classified as the geriatric population. We obtained underweight median Body Mass Index (BMI) 18.29 kg/m2 (15.05-22.04), COPD GOLD A to C, limited chest expansion, and median CAT score of 14 (4-30). This study also exhibited a median OWD of 8.10 cm (6.80-9.30), PFR 227.50 ml (70-400), and PCF 255 ml (180-410). These results showed that postural changes could simply be measured and may have an impact on respiratory biomechanics, which deems comprehensive COPD care.","PeriodicalId":258037,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 11th National Congress and the 18th Annual Scientific Meeting of Indonesian Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Association","volume":"198 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121883109","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
