A set of terminal constraints have been added to the NMPC formulation in order to ensure stability. The procedure to find the self-optimizing variables as the best controlled variables in an economic sense, has also been described briefly, considering the most important measurements of the process. This methodology provides the optimum combination of measurements to keep constant with minimum economic loss. The algorithm is used as a controller for a constant-amplitude constant-frequency voltage-source inverter (CACF VSI) with an LC output filter. The modification is divided into three parts. Firstly, there are B-spline functions of higher orders that are used especially functions of a second order. Secondly, the B-spline functions are described in cyclic manner which allows to achieve smooth control signal in steady state. Last modification involves introduction of a shift between the error and the control signal. This impact generated a trend for developing research projects which deal with monitoring and forecasting air quality. This paper fits into this trend and presents an ANFIS (adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system) modelling approach to predict particulate matter concentration for short terms. The ANFIS technique was tested for three data sets covering all seasons specific to urban areas from Romania. The data sets type imposed the fuzzy inference system generating method and the optimization method. Two scenarios are considered: the first one is model calibration and parameter estimation prioritization, and the second one is inputs ranking. For the first case, all the process parameters represent inputs for sensitivity analyses. The innovative part of the paper is the way we analyze the sensitivity indices in time, while varying one of the process actual inputs. For the second set, the analyses should show which input has a greater influence on the outputs for both importance of filters and control design of multiple inputs and multiple outputs. A parallel-architecture of the multi-source system is considered, composed of a fuel cell as a primary power source, a supercapacitor as a secondary storage element, which provides peak power in fast transients, and power converters for the power sources interconnection to the DC bus. The power management is realized as a two-level control structure. The first level contains inner control loops for fuel cell/supercapacitor currents and a DC bus voltage control loop, designed using PI controllers. The higher level consists of an energy management supervision system based on the equivalent consumption minimization strategy. The fuel cell power demand is computed by minimizing the hydrogen mass consumption with respect to system physical constraints. At the grid operators and suppliers level, these advanced technologies allow a better resources planning, reduce energy losses, estimate necessary energy that should be acquired in order to cover losses, eliminate costs regarding meters reading and integrate a higher volume of renewable energy sources. This paper mainly describes a couple of methods for load profile calculation. In the present paper, energy saving in home and office buildings is achieved through an efficient management of heat and lighting devices and with the exploitation of renewable resources, like sun (thermal and light energy) that takes into account user comfort. The presence of coupling effects between the thermal and illuminance systems (mainly in shutter actuation) that often calls for contrasting requests in terms of actuators control actions, adds difficulties to the controller design if approached with standard control methods. An improvement of a previous control system is performed by the authors by adopting Model Predictive Control techniques. The proposed system integrates energy-consuming sources for heat and light power supply, with green energy-supplying sources. To handle the nonlinearities a switching approach has been adopted in developing the Model Predictive Controller, which is based on a bank of models dependent on thermal and light solar radiation. The proposed approach is based on the control system re-configuration of the remaining propellers. As the system is no longer controllable in all six degrees of freedom, one dimension should be abandoned. In this case, the control of yaw dynamics was chosen to be ignored because less crash risk is introduced.
