A highly efficient power electronic converter for converting the output voltage of a solar panel or wind generator to the required DC battery bus voltage has been realized. The converter is controlled to track the maximum power point of the nput source under varying input and output parameters. MPPT for relatively small systems is achieved by maximization of the output current in a battery charging regulator, using an optimized hill-climbing, inexpensive microprocessor-based algorithm. Through field measurements it is shown that a minimum input source saving of 15% on 3-5 kWh/day systems can easily be achieved.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":253424,"journal":{"name":"[Proceedings] IECON '90: 16th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"54 10","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114127594","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The basic problem is to calculate the spectra coefficients on a one-step-shifted-to-the-right window using the old coefficient values. Several formulas are presented giving the adaptation law of the time-varying spectra. The development in Fourier series expansion can be extended to the case of orthogonal polynomial series.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":253424,"journal":{"name":"[Proceedings] IECON '90: 16th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117133517","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this system, the appearances of an object from various view directions are described with 2D features, such as parallel lines and ellipses. These appearances are then ranked, and a tree-like strategy graph is generated. It shows an efficient feature search order when the viewer direction is unknown. The object is recognized by feature detection guided by the strategy. After the features are detected, the system compares the line representation generated from a 3D model and the image features to localize the object. Perspective projection is used in the localization process to obtain the precise position and attitude of the object, while orthographic projection is used in the strategy generation process to allow symbolic manipulation.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":253424,"journal":{"name":"[Proceedings] IECON '90: 16th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116264074","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A mathematical formulation of the environmental constraints is introduced which is simple enough in many cases. The control is constructed following a master-helper control scheme in which the global controller is realized by a self-organizing algorithm. The goal is to build an intelligent controller or regulator which has a versatility equivalent to that possessed by a human operator. The advantages of neural nets lie in that they are flexible in terms of learning and collective processing capabilities. Simulation was performed to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed scheme. Network performance as a function of the number of hidden units and the number of training samples is addressed.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":253424,"journal":{"name":"[Proceedings] IECON '90: 16th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124811218","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

AILISTD uses artificial-intelligence techniques to transform the functional specifications into a state transition diagram (STD) representation. PROLOC then translates the STD specifications into relay ladder design for programming into a PLC. A laboratory example involving a liquid level control system illustrates the use of both programs.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":253424,"journal":{"name":"[Proceedings] IECON '90: 16th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122907479","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One is the fixed parameter algorithm and the other is the self-tuning algorithm. Both methods use an ARMA (autoregressive moving average) process model. In the first method the model is fixed and in the second the model parameters are tuned online. These techniques are based on long-range position prediction and can easily be implemented in real-time systems because of their simplicity. Simulation results of a one-degree-of-freedom DC motor servo system indicate that these algorithms, especially the self-tuning one, are effective for position control of a robotic arm.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":253424,"journal":{"name":"[Proceedings] IECON '90: 16th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125243312","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Sliding mode-a new way to control series resonant converters 滑模控制——串联谐振变换器的一种新方法

The full-bridge configuration of series-resonant converters (SRCs) is used. The converter is operated at resonant frequency to obtain both output-to-input voltage characteristics similar to those of the buck converter and high efficiency. To arrive at an exact mathematical model, the SRC is viewed as a piecewise linear system. However, under some approximations and a suitably selected set of state variables, the SRC is characterized by a linear continuous-time model which allows determination of the equivalent control via the sliding mode control (SMC) theory. To obtain a sliding regime, the appropriate sliding surface is selected by assigning poles. This control law constitutes a new approach to the control of resonant DC-DC converters.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":253424,"journal":{"name":"[Proceedings] IECON '90: 16th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125319132","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This effect is highlighted and analyzed. Unlike the MOS transistor, the IGBT's turn-off behavior at high frequency with negative gate bias shows a strong inversion layer at the oxide-n-semiconductor interface. A simplified model is used to show the improvements in delay time and current and voltage switching speeds brought about by the negative gate bias. The negative bias can reduce the turn-off losses by 25%.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":253424,"journal":{"name":"[Proceedings] IECON '90: 16th Annual Conference of IEEE Industrial Electronics Society","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-11-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129546376","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
