First, based on the research of underwater acoustic multipath time-varying channel, the model of receiving array signal is analyzed, and then characteristics of time-delay spread are improved by TR of receiving array signal; Based on frequency reversal (FR), a TR method of each path recovered source signal is proposed; Finally, target DOA model is built by TR combined with FR (TR-FR). Simulation results show that the signal frequency offsets caused by multipath channel is involved with the number of array and multipath, and the performance of target DOA estimation based on TR-FR over underwater acoustic multipath time-varying channel is better than conventional TR methods.","PeriodicalId":248977,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE China Summit & International Conference on Signal and Information Processing (ChinaSIP)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133049562","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By integrating the function of cochlea tuning and short-term synaptic plasticity, the derived details and the feasible parameter criterion under minimum error variance condition are discussed. For illustration, the developed fast filtering algorithm is applied to the speed tracking of quadruped robot walks. The comparison with the Kalman filtering method is given from two aspects, the tracking performance and the tracking speed. Both the two illustrate the high-efficiency of developed fast filtering algorithm.","PeriodicalId":248977,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE China Summit & International Conference on Signal and Information Processing (ChinaSIP)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127071362","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the analysis of double compression effect on MDCT (Modified Discrete Cosine Transform) coefficients in MP3 audio, we propose a simple feature called FVV (frequency vibration value) to measure the vibration caused by double compression. The experimental results on challenging dataset show that our method outperforms most of the existing methods in double MP3 compression detection, especially with a second bitrate higher than the first one. Besides, we can also estimate the original bit-rate for a double compressed MP3 by this technique.","PeriodicalId":248977,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE China Summit & International Conference on Signal and Information Processing (ChinaSIP)","volume":"196 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124356331","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As the first step, individual pulse contribution in each track is given by RCM, and the value of N is then specified. Subsequently, the replacement of a pulse is performed through the search over the sorted top N pulses by IFPR, and those of 2 to 4 pulses are carried out by a standard IFPR. Implemented on a G.729A speech codec, this proposal requires as few as 24 searches, a search load tantamount to 7.5% of G.729A, 37.5% of the global pulse replacement method (iteration=2), 50% of IFPR, but still provides a comparable speech quality in any case. The aim of significant search performance improvement is achieved in this work.","PeriodicalId":248977,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE China Summit & International Conference on Signal and Information Processing (ChinaSIP)","volume":"130 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114470825","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By drawing from the rich theory of and versatile algorithmic tools for convex optimization, researchers have been able to not only refine and improve old designs, but also come up with new, sophisticated designs and develop efficient algorithms for implementing them. In this tutorial, we will first cover the basics of convex optimization from problem formulation to theory to algorithms. Then, we will demonstrate how techniques from convex optimization offer design insights and efficient solution methods for some of the latest signal processing applications, such as transmit beamforming and sensor network localization.","PeriodicalId":248977,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE China Summit & International Conference on Signal and Information Processing (ChinaSIP)","volume":"18 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116342106","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To determine which operator should be used at each iteration, we adopt structural similarity (SSIM) to evaluate the similarity between the original and retargeted images for the dynamic programming. Since the sizes of original and retargeted images are different, SIFT flow is used for dense correspondence between the original and retargeted images for similarity evaluation. Additionally, visual saliency is used to weight SSIM results based on the characteristics of the Human Visual System (HVS). Experimental results on a public image retargeting database show the promising performance of the proposed multi-operator retargeting algorithm.","PeriodicalId":248977,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE China Summit & International Conference on Signal and Information Processing (ChinaSIP)","volume":"18 9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125770126","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Selection criteria based on mutual information theory have the advantages in terms of distribution free, nonlinearity and low computational load for multiclass cases. However several have been developed and are available to use. In this study, we conduct a comparative analysis on four defined criteria and their performances are evaluated using two hyperspectral data sets with two levels of sample sizes.","PeriodicalId":248977,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE China Summit & International Conference on Signal and Information Processing (ChinaSIP)","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128400738","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"An effective missing feature compensation method for speech recognition at noisy environment","authors":"Xuyan Hu, Y. Zou, Wei Shi","doi":"10.1109/ChinaSIP.2014.6889217","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ChinaSIP.2014.6889217","url":null,"abstract":"It is a challenge task for maintaining high correct word accuracy rate (WAR) for state-of-art automatic speech recognition (ASR) systems when the SNR goes very low. To deal with such situation, the missing feature technology (MFT) has shown as one of the mainstream algorithms. In principle, conventional MFT firstly separate the unreliable spectral bins from the reliable ones. Then the unreliable bins are reconstructed by missing feature algorithm [7]. When SNR goes low, the performance of the conventional MFT for ASR system is limited since both the reliable and unreliable spectral bins will be corrupted by the noise components. In this paper, a novel missing feature compensation method was developed by considering compensating both unreliable and reliable spectral bins. With the assumption of GMM distribution of the clean speech spectral vector, a dual MFT (DMFT) algorithm is developed, where the reliable spectral bins corrupted by noise have been compensated by removing the noise components. Several experiments have been carried out to evaluate the performance of the proposed DMFT algorithm by using AURORA2 database. From the results, it is clear to see that the proposed DMFT algorithm improves the WAR under all types of noises at different SNR levels compared with the traditional MFT algorithm.","PeriodicalId":248977,"journal":{"name":"2014 IEEE China Summit & International Conference on Signal and Information Processing (ChinaSIP)","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128714043","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
