By drawing from the rich theory of and versatile algorithmic tools for convex optimization, researchers have been able to not only refine and improve old designs, but also come up with new, sophisticated designs and develop efficient algorithms for implementing them. In this tutorial, we will first cover the basics of convex optimization from problem formulation to theory to algorithms.
