A laboratory evaluation of the technique has been made using 20 fly ash samples from six New South Wales and Queensland power stations. The unburnt carbon has been determined over the range 0.1-12 wt% carbon, with r.m.s. errors in the range 0.08 to 0.28 wt% for individual power stations. A plant trial of industrial prototype gauges will be conducted at a New South Wales power station during 1990.","PeriodicalId":248044,"journal":{"name":"1990 20th European Microwave Conference","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1992-08-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125041283","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

DC measurements have shown that the degree of negative differential resistance and the ratio of forward and reverse bias threshold currents can be related directly to the state of the cathode contact. Corresponding rf measurements have shown similar trends in efficiency and `turn-on' performance, suggesting different modes of operation. A novel computer simulation has been developed to investigate these effects.","PeriodicalId":248044,"journal":{"name":"1990 20th European Microwave Conference","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120952902","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The front end of the radar consists of an array of thin film combined dipoles and receivers mounted on a lens such that each receiver produces a beam in the far field of the lens. Sixteen receivers are used to give a four by four cluster of beams. The outputs from these beams are fed to an I.F. network which combines them in such a way as to give three levels of monopulse outputs. A wide field of view with a coarse tracking slope can be selected, or a narrow field of view with a more accurate tracking slope, and also an intermediate state.","PeriodicalId":248044,"journal":{"name":"1990 20th European Microwave Conference","volume":"152 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127513198","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The changes in EEG tracing, which is found in sleep or in anesthesia, were interpreted as the phenomena of inhibit ion of the higher nervous function (1). Many other experiences prove that inicrowave exposure can disturb the equilibrium between the processes of excitation and inhibition in the nervous system (2). The interaction with peripheral nerves is responsible for microwave-induced effects on the central nervous system (CNS) responses. An acupuncture point is an area where there are many peripheral nerve fibres and some special points can be stimulated to obtain analgesia effects. Applying microwaves to stimulate some acupuncture points, we observed that the pain threshold was significantly increased (3).","PeriodicalId":248044,"journal":{"name":"1990 20th European Microwave Conference","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1990-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126090271","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
