That is why the objective of the research was to determine the relationship between metacognitive skills and the virtual process of university professionalization of students in the area of health sciences. The study had a mixed, non-experimental approach, with a correlational design and a sample population of 294 students from 6 professional careers to whom the instrument was applied, a metacognitive skills inventory (MAI), also for the collection of test scores. university professionalization, the auxiliary evaluation record was taken into account. Through data processing, it was obtained as a result that the categories knowledge of cognition and regulation of cognition are located with the highest percentage on the \"agree\" scale, reaching 61.40% and 61.25% respectively. The study shows that university students, during the development of virtual learning sessions, present the desired level in the management of metacognitive skills and their learning is rated as good. It is concluded that there is a relationship between metacognitive skills and virtual university professionalization in students in the area of health sciences.","PeriodicalId":247919,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2023 8th International Conference on Information and Education Innovations","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123528875","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Learning how to write code is like learning a foreign language, but without the ability to compare the new words with native ones. To overcome this obstacle to learning, current computer science teaching can employ many creative ways to teach coding. Visual aids can be used to transfer the basic concepts of programming across to new students; helping them visualize the functional elements of coding. Learning through gamification is a method also deployed by educators, and has been a proven technique to improve learning outcomes. In this study, our research aims were to investigate the gamification of computer programming using virtual reality. Immersive technology such as virtual reality provides a promising framework to deliver visualization and gamification to better convey foundational programming concepts. To test this theory, a virtual reality game was constructed which provided a self-directed learning path through a simple game narrative. Study participants (n=40) immersed within the virtual environment were provided with the opportunity to build a fundamental understanding of programming. The outcomes of the study showed that there is an interest to learn computer programming within a VR game such as this one.","PeriodicalId":247919,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2023 8th International Conference on Information and Education Innovations","volume":"94 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126077890","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Some schools are putting merit on attendance in their grading system and even particular on students’ timely arrival in class. This has somehow changed during pandemic when classes shifted online. While we value attendance and punctuality, we also became more empathetic with the situation of the students. Some are citing mental health issues, while others have connectivity issues among many others. With the lifting of lockdowns and the return of learning into classrooms, pre-pandemic way, attendance monitoring became more important in the presence and threat of COVID19. We don't just check attendance in class but we also monitor them before and after classes prior to joining session aside from other concerns relating to the attendance. This is to ensure the safety of everyone avoiding the spread of the virus with teachers and students exposed to public before and after class. This has led to a chaotic way of checking and monitoring class attendance for teachers, and difficulty of attendance reporting to multiple teachers for students. These concerns led to the development of Xuse that draws its name from the word “excuse” which is often used in attendance checking. Xuse is a mobile app developed using PowerApps that allows the students to alert the department of their attendance concerns in just a few clicks. The app was evaluated by users using FURPS testing with a general weighted mean of 4.57 interpreted as Excellent. In a focus group discussion, selected respondents emphasized the reasons why high rating was given to the app. This proved that Xuse has resolved the attendance reporting concerns of the students and the monitoring concerns of teachers.","PeriodicalId":247919,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2023 8th International Conference on Information and Education Innovations","volume":"29 9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123587840","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The reading materials used were the electronic audio picture books Fun Chinese 1000 Characters, Illustrated Tang and Song Poems and Illustrated Three-Character Classics. At the end of the experiment, it was found that their recognized Chinese characters exceeded 2,000 characters, with a reading comprehension accuracy rate of 80%, which was about 10 times higher than that of the control group. Furthermore, the students who participated in the AI reading experiment demonstrated better accuracy and standard Mandarin pronunciation in their Chinese spoken expression than their non-participating classmates. They also developed a love for Chinese and ancient Chinese poetry and established good reading habits. This experiment effectively and economically promoted Chinese language acquisition among foreign children using educational robots with AI-assisted reading. Both children and parents highly appreciated this approach, and it provides valuable experience and reference for second language acquisition in the digital age.","PeriodicalId":247919,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2023 8th International Conference on Information and Education Innovations","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121250519","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper presents a citizen adoption model of government social media services from the perspective of service level and empirically validates it on 1032 samples using a structural equation modeling approach. The results show that the factors affecting the adoption intention of information services include performance expectancy, effort expectancy, forced use perception, and structural assurance; the factors affecting the adoption intention of transactional services are performance expectancy, effort expectancy, forced use perception, and perceived trust; the factors affecting the adoption intention of political services are social influence, forced use perception, and trust in government. Additionally, the three antecedents of perceived trust are trust in government, perceived privacy and security, and structural assurance.","PeriodicalId":247919,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2023 8th International Conference on Information and Education Innovations","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116944478","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the characteristics of this kind of course, such as rapid content update, wide theoretical coverage and strong practice, students often have a fear psychology when learning, and the traditional teaching methods and assessment mode can no longer meet the current mode of application-oriented talent training. Therefore, based on the research and analysis of the concept and connotation of OBE, aiming at the existing problems in the classroom teaching of computer program development courses, taking Object Oriented Programming (Java) as an example, a new classroom model of \"one dimension, three orders\" chain teaching and diversified evaluation is proposed, which is student-centered and takes engineering education certification as the standard.","PeriodicalId":247919,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2023 8th International Conference on Information and Education Innovations","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129648703","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Automated controllability in turn is necessary for installing sustainability in smart regions and cities. Ambient algorithmic support for decentralized process coordination will ease collaboration for a better utilization of available resources. Negotiation among software agents in such algorithms inevitably also demand an exchange of information; containing either plain information on local processes, resources or production states, or allow for deriving at least partial information. We analyze two use cases: virtual power plants for future smart grid coordination and automated network formation for smart regions. Based on the requirements of the algorithmic perspective as well as of the domain specific privacy needs, we derive recommendations for a possible solution that brings together these opposing perspectives.","PeriodicalId":247919,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2023 8th International Conference on Information and Education Innovations","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126810014","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
