WirelessHART standard has been in the open market for few years already. It has been acknowledged as a viable alternative to wired networks. By deploying wireless sensor network, the cost and period of wiring installation, maintenance and commissioning can be reduced. A Key issue associated with wireless networked control system is the packet dropout. This is prompted by the non-periodic update of measurements as a result of the use of wireless network in the control loop. The packet dropout can cause degradation and declining of the control performance and could possibly jeopardize plant safety. To overcome this phenomenon, this paper presents the application of filtered feedback PID control strategy. Analysis of the results obtained shows that the performance of the plant with the proposed method is better than the conventional PID control.","PeriodicalId":247287,"journal":{"name":"2016 6th International Conference on Intelligent and Advanced Systems (ICIAS)","volume":"81 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131195368","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Parameters such as the rate and time of gas flow are varied during synthesis. The as-grown graphene is then transferred onto oxidized silicon substrate by employing single and double layer polymer-based techniques. Next, surface morphology, electrical and optical properties of the synthesized mono-few layer graphene are characterized using optical microscope, Raman spectroscopy, UV-VIS spectroscopy, and four-point probe measurement. Results show that by using the appropriate combination of synthesis parameters and transfer technique, high quality graphene with electrical sheet resistance as low as 900 Ω/sq and optical transparencies as high as 94% can be obtained. Such quality graphene is highly desirable as transparent conductive electrodes in applications like light emitting diodes, solar cells and optical sensors.","PeriodicalId":247287,"journal":{"name":"2016 6th International Conference on Intelligent and Advanced Systems (ICIAS)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131204756","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The resonator operates at the resonant frequency when a current flows through the metal layers in the presence of an external magnetic field. We investigate the resonant frequency and amplitude shifts due to parametric variation in beam length, width, and structure thickness in resonator motion. The theoretical formulation of the equivalent circuit model is presented. Simulation of resonator with variations are carried out using equivalent circuit model, these variations are based on fabrication foundry tolerance range. Simulation results show a range of operational frequencies in which the resonator can perform under the fabrication tolerances provided by the foundry.","PeriodicalId":247287,"journal":{"name":"2016 6th International Conference on Intelligent and Advanced Systems (ICIAS)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123872438","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method conventionally uses Horizontal Electric Dipole (HED antenna, towed by a ship that transmits low-frequency waves. The received signal describes the resistivity contrast hence, the oil presence information is revealed. Towing the transmitter accurately, and increasing current amplitude to increase the magnitude of received signal for better prediction of the oil is yet a challenge for the industry. In this research work, the enhanced detection of the oil reservoir by using the toroidal magnetic feeders over the conventional HED is presented. The addition of the magnetic feeders as the field magnifiers shows the considerable increment in the magnetite of the received signal. Whereas the improved oil delineation capability was achieved by stirring the waves towards the oil layer by dis-balancing the transmitted signal using magnetic feeder. The promising results by the designed and simulated enhanced transmitter provided 42% oil delineation as compared to the 34% by the conventional straight HED. This work opens the new door in the field of stirring the low-frequency EM waves towards the target for the confident prediction.","PeriodicalId":247287,"journal":{"name":"2016 6th International Conference on Intelligent and Advanced Systems (ICIAS)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121775613","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Biologic Response Modifiers (BRM) also known as immunotherapy, is a type of treatment which mobilizes and triggers the immune system of the body. This research work provides a description of noise nature of immunofluorescence microscope images. Thus, the study leads to determine the type of noise and choose the filter which best fit the noise presented in fluorescence microscope images. Image histogram and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) have been applied on blood samples. However, the results show that the Gaussian noise is found in this kind of images. CLAHE filter has been applied to these images. The results obtained from CLAHE demonstrate the ability for this filter to deal with this kind of images.","PeriodicalId":247287,"journal":{"name":"2016 6th International Conference on Intelligent and Advanced Systems (ICIAS)","volume":"48 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126050027","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We present a method that builds upon the previous ideas such as local space-time features and space-time pyramid. The method is aimed at exploiting the activity coherently and effectively by extracting low-level features at spatial-temporal interest point's neighborhood; a histogram of optical flow and a histogram of the oriented gradient. Relying on the measurable attributes of objects description and motion characteristics, specific behavior such as crossing, walking, merging and splitting can be detected more accurately. We present a new method for crowd behavior classification based on space-time features. An experimental evaluation is conducted on publicly available crowd analytic datasets. The result indicates that radial basis function support vector machine shows a good accuracy, precision and recall in classifying human behavior when compared to a nearest neighbor classifier.","PeriodicalId":247287,"journal":{"name":"2016 6th International Conference on Intelligent and Advanced Systems (ICIAS)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126646113","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Transhorizon non-line-of-sight (NLOS) communication has further reliability issues. This paper proposes a trans-horizon link based data communication with high availability in maritime wireless communication backhaul network over sea using evaporation duct. Currently long-range, high-speed backhaul communication over sea is limited to line-of-sight (LOS) distances requiring high antenna towers for microwave radio link or satellite based backhaul link which is limited in bandwidth. Using evaporation duct, present over Malaysian water in South China Sea surface to our advantage, we can achieve results for a long-range, non-line-of-sight (NLOS) maritime wireless backhaul high-speed communication link. With high reliability and capacity this could be the best alternative for long-range, high-speed maritime communication. It comprises of Wavelet transform and Neural network based on parallel prediction method, which is called \"PWNN\". Wavelet transform is used to decompose the original load series into multiple load sub-series with different frequencies. Then, neural network is used to predict each load sub-series using parallel prediction method. The load forecast can be obtained by inverse wavelet transform. Reconstructing the 3D surface of an underwater object is a challenging task due to degraded quality of underwater images. There are various reasons of quality degradation of underwater images i.e., non-uniform illumination of light on the surface of objects, scattering and absorption effects. Particles and impurities present in underwater produces Gaussian noise on the captured underwater optical images which degrades the quality of images. However, using depth sensors, as a cost effective alternative, we aim to show that underwater 3D scene reconstruction is possible with sight tradeoffs on accuracy but major cost saving. The acquired depth data is proposed to be processed by applying real-time mesh generating techniques from the acquired point cloud. The experimental result aims to show that the proposed method reconstructs 3D surface of underwater objects accurately using captured underwater depth images.","PeriodicalId":247287,"journal":{"name":"2016 6th International Conference on Intelligent and Advanced Systems (ICIAS)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115997935","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, an unsupervised technique is proposed for the segmentation of acne vulgaris lesions. The effect of color feature normalization on segmentation results is examined. Two types of normalization is performed — in the first type, the color feature values are restricted to the range [0 1] and in the second type, the color features are normalized such that their mean value is zero and their variance is one. The segmentation of acne lesions was carried out in the feature set formed by combining chromatic components from different color spaces such as YIQ, Lab, I1I2I3 and YCbCr. A dataset of fifty color images of acne patients have been used in this experimentation. The segmentation results show that normalization can significantly improve the segmentation results in YIQ and I1I2I3 color spaces. It has also found that comparatively good segmentation results can be obtained in high dimensional chromatic space.","PeriodicalId":247287,"journal":{"name":"2016 6th International Conference on Intelligent and Advanced Systems (ICIAS)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130795224","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
