The radioactivity information is obtained from the measured spectrum, using an algorithm for photopeak determination based on wavelet denoising methods. This algorithm improves significantly the analysis capability of a short-term spectrum with poor statistical information. The measurement data are collected by the underwater part of the system, which has built-in photomultiplier tube, preamplifier and power supply, together with the electronics for data acquisition, storage and transmission. The system can perform in-situ measurements of natural or anthropogenic radionuclides in water and can be installed on any oceanographic buoy and remotely operated or autonomous underwater vehicles. In case of an ROV/AUV installation, the system operates in a continuous monitoring and data storage mode for preliminary studies at specific aquatic areas, while use in a buoy installation is currently under development.","PeriodicalId":247264,"journal":{"name":"2008 1st International Conference on Information Technology","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114430478","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The respiratory system functioning is based on the ventilation mechanism. The basic degradation of the patientpsilas breathing condition are obstructive, restrictive and mixed pulmonary diseases. In this paper, a new model of the spirometry measurement is presented. The model parameter estimates are obtained on the basis of spirometry measurements. The model parameters allow us to obtain the new information concerning breathing conditions. They also allow us to distinguish between healthy and diseased subjects. The verification, based on the disease simulation, revealed the diagnostic usefulness of the model parameters acquired on the basis of spirometry measurements.","PeriodicalId":247264,"journal":{"name":"2008 1st International Conference on Information Technology","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128686667","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It includes screening experiments to quantify the parameters and interactions among parameters influential to throughput. Profile-driven regression is applied to obtain a model of the non-linear behaviour of throughput. The intermediate models obtained in this modelling effort are used to adapt the parameters as the network conditions change, in order to maximize throughput. The improvements in throughput range from 10-26 times the use of the default parameter settings. The predictive accuracy of the model is monitored and used to update the model dynamically. The results indicate the framework may be useful for the optimization of dynamic systems of high dimension.","PeriodicalId":247264,"journal":{"name":"2008 1st International Conference on Information Technology","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127115541","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed approach is based on calculation of a set of parameters of an echo envelope, similarly as in seafloor classification using single beam echosounder. These parameters are extracted for each consecutive beam allowing the estimation of their dependence on the seafloor incident angle. The relation between seabed type and calculated echo parameters and its angular dependence, is investigated. The results obtained using sonar data records from several bottom types in Gdansk Bay water region are presented and discussed.","PeriodicalId":247264,"journal":{"name":"2008 1st International Conference on Information Technology","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130062407","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system is based on semantic modeling of a virtual museum which consists of cultural objects placed in a virtual 3D space. The article describes an extension to the concept of cultural objects which includes information on the use of these objects. This extension enables to place objects in an appropriate context in a virtual museum. Therefore it is possible to restore the true appearance of antique interiors and other spaces. On the basis of the information sorted in the system new facts concerning the objects can be discovered. This system is an IT tool designed to facilitate humanistic research.","PeriodicalId":247264,"journal":{"name":"2008 1st International Conference on Information Technology","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114243636","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are still some unsolved problems and new options yet to be defined. One example of such case is Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) option, which final version has been published in late 2007. It describes DHCPv6 client and server behavior, but some important aspects remain unaddressed. Authors developed and released working open source implementation over a year before FQDN standard reached mature phase. This paper discuses those issues and recommends possible solutions. Another important development area in the DHCPv6 protocol is a lack of well defined authentication and authorization. Experimental AAA implementation has been developed and reached validation phase. Quick overview of the Dibbler project - a working, multi-platform, open-source DHCPv6 implementation - is also provided, its strengths, used solutions and validation methods used to prove its correctness are discussed. Conclusions and discussion regarding areas for further studies appears in the last section of this article.","PeriodicalId":247264,"journal":{"name":"2008 1st International Conference on Information Technology","volume":"142 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116549522","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our understanding of atomic services (as the basic building blocks for distributed digital libraries) was described in one of our previous works. Those services are: content storage service, metadata storage service, composition and relation service, and search service. Communication protocols and a mechanism for discovery and composition of such services was developed. RESTful atomic services for digital libraries can be used to provide the functionality of a digital library on different layers of distributed systems: from Web 2.0 AJAX interfaces to the lowest middleware components.","PeriodicalId":247264,"journal":{"name":"2008 1st International Conference on Information Technology","volume":"4 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114033255","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
