Supplying non-linear loads by transformer leads to higher losses, early fatigue of insulation, and reduction of the useful life of transformer. To prevent these problems rated capacity of transformer supplying non-linear loads must be reduced. In this paper, at first, a useful model of transformer under harmonic condition is presented. The model in addition to ordinary parameters includes a potential difference defined as the second derivative of the load current that represents eddy current losses in windings and the other stray losses represented as a resistor in series with the leakage inductance and dc resistance. Finally, losses and capacity of 50 KVA transformer under harmonic load current is calculated. Investigations include two-speed three-phase induction motors with Dahlander winding connection or separate windings, with rated speeds of 3000/1500 rpm, 1500/750 rpm, 1500/1000 rpm. The investigated motors (manufactured by SC Electroprecizia SA) were placed in a semi-anechoic chamber in order to determine the noise versus frequency characteristics (spectrograms). The paper is based on results and conclusions obtained after analyzing these spectrograms. The PMTF machine has the advantage of modularity, since each phase is an independent module. Due to these features, a PMTF machine can be an excellent option for low and medium power, low speed gearless generators. In this paper a sizing-designing algorithm is developed and, for a sample generator, with a quite simple structure the performances are calculated and checked against that obtained via 3D finite element method (FEM) analysis. The cascade control structure with two additional feedbacks from the shaft torque and the difference between speeds which allows the free location of the system closed- loop poles is considered. The influence of the system poles to the drive performance is shown. Then the control structure with additional feedbacks from the load torque and its derivatives, which allow rejection from the load speed the fall caused by the load torque change, is introduced and examined. To provide the information of non-measurable state variables the Extended Kalman Filter is used. A general study of power terms involved in the operation of the four-wire APF is conducted in order to evidence the relationship between instantaneous energy stored in the DC bus and active power requirements on the APF. Harmonics and imbalances both on the utility voltage and load current have been considered and the power developed by the active power filter has been evaluated. This study allows designing a controller for the APF based on the regulation of the energy-state of its DC-bus. The method has been experimentally tested on a four leg APF based on a neutral-point-clamped DC bus. The system components and radiation and wind speed datasets are assumed to be fully deterministic. System costs involve investments, operation and maintenance as well as loss of load costs. Prices are all unfeigned and components are commercially available. Wind and radiation datascts arc for northwest region of Iran. However they have two major drawbacks i.e. high cost and small speed range. In this paper an optimal design of a permanent magnet machine is presented. A reduction of permanent magnet material for a constant torque and an extension in speed and torque ranges are chosen as the optimization aims. For this purpose the analytical model of the permanent magnet synchronous machine is derived and the appropriate design algorithm is devised. The genetic algorithm is then employed to optimize some machine specifications. This paper gives a complete overview of all the boundary conditions implied by vector migration through the process. The process is similar to that of training a SVM, though the process of incrementing / decrementing of vectors into / out of the solution does not coincide with the increase / decrease of the associated threshold. The analysis shows the details of incremental and decremental procedures used to train the SVR. Vectors with duplicate contribution are also considered. The migration of vectors among sets on decreasing the regularization parameter C is particularly given attention. Permanent magnet is employed in the actuator construction in order to reduce the energy consumption. Finite element method using magnetic vector potential formulation with edge elements is employed. Results are obtained for the magnetic field distribution and the static force of the actuator.
