A few methods were considered but only two analytical methods are highlighted. Both methods arc based on parameter calculation by considering the bars of the damper winding grouped in symmetrical loops referred to the direct and quadrature axis. Based on the developed procedures the damper bars currents in a large machine in the case of an asynchronous starting were calculated.","PeriodicalId":244464,"journal":{"name":"2008 11th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116944512","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many efforts are done to improve the manufacturing technologies for obtaining the high performance PTC thermistors. The paper deals with the obtaining semiconductive ceramic based on barium titanate doped with niobium, with different techniques of structure control during the manufacturing to obtain optimal parameters. Different methods for obtaining the thermistors electric contacts are analyzed, tested and optimized. The ohmic metal-semiconductor contacts, with a good mechanical resistance, stable in time, which do not oxidize at low and high temperatures, are obtained using the different techniques: cathodic sputtering, screen printing, manually depositing by rubbing of an alloy. The measurements of electric resistance versus temperature for the representative samples are presented and some conclusions regarding the advantages of used techniques are underlined.","PeriodicalId":244464,"journal":{"name":"2008 11th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117174406","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This enables reception of high bandwidth Internet applications such as interactive television and data exchange. Because of the high demand of reliable and cost-efficient services a lot of work is still required for optimal results. The paper investigates the behavior of different error corrections algorithms used for reliable distribution of multimedia content to mobile devices. After a brief introduction to the existing algorithms, the study focuses on evaluating the performances of two error correction strategies with respect to the bandwidth usage. The simulation parameters are chosen to be in line with real case scenarios.","PeriodicalId":244464,"journal":{"name":"2008 11th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127270268","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The problem that arises is due to the fact that the thermal models of the diverse versions of the loading guides do not yield similar results. Therefore, different values may be obtained for the same transformer unit with different monitoring systems. That is why the values provided by these systems and the standard thermal model should be compared. Another aspect, as important as the previous one; refers to the thermal model parameters that should be specified by the transformer unit manufacturers. The paper presents a mobile installation that was developed to perform these measurements and the results obtained on two 200 MVA power transformer units.","PeriodicalId":244464,"journal":{"name":"2008 11th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125428700","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the other hand, for simple structures like the PI cascade control l here are no analytical solutions which leads to the need of easy-to-use optimization algorithms. Differential evolution and particle swarm optimization are well suited for this problem because of the real-valued representation of solutions, fast convergence behavior and ease of use. However, seven al variants exist for both algorithms, and from literature if does not become clear which one performs best. Therefore, in this paper several strategies of differential evolution an d different neighborhood topologies for particle swarm optimization are applied for the optimization of a PI cascade control. A performance comparison shows that both algorithms are able to solve this optimization problem but especially using differential evolution the quality of the best solution varies for different strategies.","PeriodicalId":244464,"journal":{"name":"2008 11th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122880226","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition we have shown that, due to the electron-hole symmetry, the study may be restricted to the case of 3dn-ions (with 1lesnles5) because the treatment of the corresponding 3d10-n dual ion characterized by the same spin quantum number is formally strictly similar: in all the expressions obtained for the 3dn-ion (with 1lesnLt5) the charge of electron -e may be replaced by the charge of hole +e. In this part, we start from the intermediate cationic states defined in I, thus allowing to express the collective state describing the molecule AXB. In the last step we also express the exchange energies Ji of the various fragments AiXi of the bond A-X (or X-B) vs key molecular integrals characterizing this bond and defined in part I. Finally we remark that this general treatment may be employed to exactly calculate exchange coupling energies in more complex isolated molecules or ionic entities appearing in natural or artificial magnets.","PeriodicalId":244464,"journal":{"name":"2008 11th International Conference on Optimization of Electrical and Electronic Equipment","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122097302","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
