These lectures consist of lectures supported by power-point presentations, illustrative demos of lectured problems, as well as simple experiments. In the lecture part various information and communication means are used - e.g. the Internet connection, various CDs, DVDs and our own video film library. In our paper we inform of these courses and of their objectives and responses.","PeriodicalId":242007,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Information and Communication Technologies in Education","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133897508","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They are primarily used as a guide when working with various software applications. The tutorials can be produced in high definition, including narration and subtitles. However, creating such a video tutorial is not easy. Students at the Department of Information and Communication Technologies are learning to create these video tutorials. The basis of a tutorial is the creation of a script. The next step is a high quality screen capture, sound recording and subtitle creation. The tutorial can be accompanied by several different audio tracks and subtitles in different languages. Such video tutorial can be then used by foreign students or hearing-impaired students. The tutorial is then exported into a modern format that ensures high image quality and can be played on most devices for video playback. At the Department of Information and Communication Technologies the tutorials are being created mainly for Informatics courses where students work in different and often special software applications.","PeriodicalId":242007,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Information and Communication Technologies in Education","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126705268","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A tour of an educational exhibition is an interesting and attractive activity for a person receiving an education. A museum, art gallery, zoological or botanical garden or even a technological park can all be perceived as an educational exhibition. If we want the exhibition tour to provide an educational benefit to the visitor, we need to offer him adequate information about individual exhibits. The exhibition has to be personalized, that is, tailored for the various kinds of visitors. This paper deals with the issue of categorizing museum visitors using ICT, specifically an expert system which is a part of a “virtual guide”. Based on an initial analysis of a visitor, the virtual guide proposes a tour through the exhibition so that it brings the visitor the maximum educational benefit while at the same time offers information about the displayed exhibits in such a way that is most interesting and comprehensible.","PeriodicalId":242007,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Information and Communication Technologies in Education","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133306553","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An idea of transcribing text is based on a theory of adaptive learning, which is thoroughly studied at the Department of Information and Communication Technologies. Researchers in this work combined the adaptive approach together with thinking styles introduced by Libor Činka and created four variants of texts of the chosen topics. Then those texts undergone the verification by the students from high school and university, who read them and evaluated them as well as they answered to a prepared set of testing questions. All received data was compared against the replies from the learning style questionnaires VARK and questionnaire by Šimíčková. The paper discovered some differences between the results of VARK and Šimíčková questionnaire, which proved to be slightly more reliable compared to both the results of test questions and the students’ own opinion. There were also differences between sensory variants of texts. As expected, the kinesthetic variant proved to be the less effective compared to the rest. It seems that university students accepted the rewritten texts better than high school students too.","PeriodicalId":242007,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Information and Communication Technologies in Education","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122207285","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the verification of the theory in pedagogical practice required much further work, both research and routine. This paper presents the results of several years’ work of researchers, particularly the development of the adaptive LMS, the proposition and implementation of an expert system for the management of the Virtual Teacher, realized pedagogical experiments concerning the system and further development of the theory.","PeriodicalId":242007,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Information and Communication Technologies in Education","volume":"96 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125957098","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
