The authors discuss the concept of virtual excursion, formulate its advantages over traditional technologies, clarify the principles of modern pedagogical activity through a virtual excursion for the teachers and students. The paper presents one of the lecture plans devoted to a virtual tour using Internet resources. Relying on live resources, the authors argue that a virtual excursion brings students closer to their professional tasks, teach them to associate theoretical material with practice. It is also due to changing educational requirements, especially for adults. The article aims to show the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning. Examples of the 20-year use of the distance learning form of computer science describe the difficulties associated with the implementation and implementation of this form of teaching. The results of students in the full-time and distance form of teaching in the bachelor’s study of computer science are compared. Long-term findings show that distant students have significantly lower scores in the first years of study than full-time bachelor students. In the following years of study, the differences diminish, and students’ results are comparable. Digital technology, programs, software and all kinds of applications are used on a daily basis not only in informatics instruction, but also in humanities subjects such as history, foreign language, etc. Since working with modern technology comes naturally for today’s students, they find instruction which uses interactive elements more attractive as it is more active, dynamic and visual. The paper is aimed at interactive study materials which could be used in upper primary school mathematics instruction. The created interactive study materials should make instruction more effective and encourage students to be more active in class. Our proposals are based on the 7th grade curriculum. The created materials will be based on the key didactic principles, curriculum and teachers’ ideas and requirements. Moreover, the created materials will be implemented into instruction. In the most recent research findings ICT provides us several ways of learning and it also affects teachers by providing alternative teaching styles. With the use of the latest technology, teachers can grasp the significance of technology. To use it efficiently and creatively, the teacher should have right and positive attitude. By keeping this thing in view, the concerned study describing the attitude of Indian teachers towards ICT in education in relation to their affiliation with the University is conducted. More than three hundred teachers from different faculties of six universities located in two states of India have participated in the academic year 2015. Research has reported about students’ rich use of digital games and the learning potential of GBL in traditional school subjects. Digital games have been tested as educational tools in various subjects in Swedish schools during the last decade, in areas such as teaching and learning of history and foreign languages. However, there is a lack of detailed research on attitudes toward the use of GBL in history education. Main aim of the study was to examine and discuss attitudes toward an increased use of digital games in formal history education. Earlier studies have analysed students’ opinions and preferences, but this study has a focus on the teacher perspective and on which design factors are important if digital games should be an alternative for self-learning in history education. The research approach has been qualitative cross-sectional study where secondary school teachers have answered questionnaires with open-ended questions on their view of didactics and the use of GBL in formal education. All selected respondents are registered as professional secondary school history teachers. Furthermore, teachers have described their own gaming habits and their game design preferences. Findings show that a majority of the informants have good knowledge about digital games with historical setting and also a positive attitude toward an increased use of GBL. Secondary school teachers also have a tradition of using various media in their teaching and learning activities and there are neither any regulations against an increased use of digital games. An important aspect of history education, where digital games might not the first choice, is in the description of the main changes and influence of a historical époque. The paper defines the concept “social network”, the basic principles and characteristics of social networks are singled out. Based on the analysis of the results of sociological research, it was discovered that social networks are a common type of network communication that is used by both teachers and students. The advantages and peculiarities of using social networks for educational purposes are established. The authors analyze prospects of using such social networking options and services as exchange of messages, documents and news; ways of boosting teamwork by creating interest groups in social networks; improving teacher-student interaction via personal pages for public and mass communication. The application is meant for lessons of Artificial Intelligence, that is one of compulsory optional subjects on Department of Informatics and Computers, University of Ostrava. Selected implemented algorithms enable to generate a terrain with adjustable parameters in three different implementations and it also enables pathfinding in three different ways. Used methods are compared according to different criteria for better understanding. Algorithms used in the application for terrain generating are fault method, hill algorithm and value noise. For pathfinding, there were used Dijkstra algorithm, A* and breadth-first search. Interactive learning materials play an important role in the meaningful use of ICT to support an active learning. Providing feedback dependent on student´s actions should be a standard part of the digital learning materials. The immediate feedback in the classroom during the learning process is in most cases provided by the teacher. The importance of feedback even increases when students work with the digital learning materials independently in the classroom or at home. Moreover, ICT tools offer a great potential for detecting and eliminating students' mistakes. A notification of a concrete type of error in student’s way of task solution and guiding students during the corrections of their solutions creates conditions for application of formative assessment which provides suggestions to students for improving their learning. The effectiveness of feedback depends on the way how the typical errors of students are taken into account and what way the appropriate hints are implemented in learning. Various forms of feedback should be implemented in the interactive learning materials in order to stimulate the active learning. In many available the digital learning materials there is often a minimal feedback provided on student´s solution of a certain task. This paper discusses the implementation of various types of feedback in an interactive mathematics learning environment. Even though the minimal feedback can stimulate the active learning, it may not be sufficient for some types of students who do not think deeply about their methods of problem solving. Higher levels of feedback are characterized by providing comments that depend on student's mistakes and by providing pieces of advice and other helpful additional information that are closely related to the solution of tasks. The diagnosis of typical student´s misconceptions was based on the analysis of the results of the prepared tests, which were given to students at high school. Demonstrations of the minimal feedback and higher levels of feedback are illustrated in the examples of fractions, percentages and investigation of function dependencies. Computational routines consist of a matrix multiplications, the discrete cosine transform and the bubble-sorting algorithm. Memory and Runtime for each application were measure. It was determined that the runtime of matrix multiplication in Java was within the limits of 200 and 300 milliseconds, as opposed to the application developed in C, which shown to be stable with an execution period less than 20 milliseconds. In the ordering algorithm with the bubble method, it was observe that the Java language show be very slow compared to C. In addition, the memory usage was lower in most of the applications, showing a minimum difference. Applications were tested in both, a mobile LG-E510f and a Laptop Toshiba Satellite.
