The role of electroencephalography (EEG) in diagnosing MDD has shown a potential surge. Many studies have been carried out for designing an automated approach to the diagnosis of MDD through EEG as a primary tool of analysis. However, most of the methodologies depend on machine learning and the application of deep neural network tools. These heavily depend on the annotated EEG signals for training, which requires trained professional for data generation. In addition, the time and memory complexity of its implementations are huge. With these challenges, the article designs an approach for the detection of MDD using spectral clustering. The raw EEG is pre-processed, and then three quantitative biomarkers: band power (delta, beta, and theta band power, and three non-linear signal extracted features have been extracted from raw EEG signals. Channel-wise and hemisphere-wise analyses have been conducted to understand the correlation and reliance among the cross-hemisphere. The efficiency and effectiveness of the solution on par with the other existing design are tested and validated.","PeriodicalId":241355,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133074392","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We have already implemented SIMDized basic linear computation with AVX2 and confirmed that it performs well via benchmark tests in the x86-64 computing environment, demonstrating that SIMDized can be used to accelerate LU decomposition. In this study, it is further demonstrated that parallelized SIMDized LU decomposition with OpenMP is faster than the serial version, and that the mixed-precision iterative refinement used to obtain quad-double (QD, 212-bit mantissa) approximation is optimizable. As a result, the combination of double-double (DD, 106 bits mantissa) and QD arithmetic for the iterative refinement process is more efficient than the DDMPFR 212-bit combination.","PeriodicalId":241355,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114827155","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Nevertheless, monitoring and controlling these microgrids have proved to be a challenge for many microgrids’ operators. Lack of proper monitoring and management leads to loss of reliability and frequent power outages. Advances in Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWAN) provide a foundation to design and implement an inexpensive bidirectional wireless communication system. This paper proposes a Long-Range (LoRa) wireless communication system to enhance the real-time monitoring and management of different nodes in microgrids. The system comprises a wireless, low-power, low-maintenance wireless network of distributed LoRa-based sensory modules which may be integrated with other monitoring and control systems such as photovoltaic power generation and battery management to deliver more reliable microgrids. The system may also be extended to successfully implement real-time load and tariff management as a Demand-Side Management (DSM) to avoid microgrid overloading.","PeriodicalId":241355,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116468733","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

DevOps enables organizations to meet market demands and changing environments through much faster delivery of high-quality and stable software features. The success of DevOps depends on how an organization adopts and practices DevOps. Over the years, the adoption of DevOps has increased, as approaches and models are proposed to smooth the adoption process. However, these approaches and models focus more on software delivery outcomes and less on business outcomes. This qualitative study aims to accelerate the adoption of DevOps, focusing on achieving business outcomes. The study found that DevOps does not solely contribute to business outcomes, but operates with other business success factors from different departments. Three main challenges in aligning DevOps with business outcomes were identified, and recommendations were proposed. Specifically, a conceptual DevOps adoption process was proposed to accelerate the adoption of DevOps to meet market demands and to contribute to achieving business outcomes. The study will assist researchers and practitioners in understanding the adoption of DevOps for better business outcomes.","PeriodicalId":241355,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"94 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134418212","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To this end, we designed two interfaces for the same car renting application, one incorporating game UI elements -that are specifically used in video games- and the other as a conventional version of the same web application that follows the UI design of similar websites. A lab experiment was conducted where the participants (n=51) used the UIs to book a car. The experiment examined the differences between gamers and non-gamers concerning efficiency (measured by time to complete a task), stress events during the use of the interfaces (measured by a sensor indicating skin conductance response), users’ evaluation of the UIs, and user preference on which interface was more satisfying to use. Results indicated that there were no significant differences between gamers and non-gamers in efficiency, the users’ evaluation of the UIs, and the number of stress events for both UIs tested, but there was a significant difference in the user preference regarding which UI was more satisfying to use, with gamers selecting the web-based UI while non-gamers the game-based one.","PeriodicalId":241355,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122276623","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The most difficult problem of solar PV is the sudden changes in power due to cloud cover, power changes in the shape of a “mountain” during the day, so it causes difficulties in power loss and overload of the transformer, so the difficulty in stable operation of the solar power system is not small. Currently, countries are restricting the installation of more solar power plants because there are no effective measures of the power to keep stabilization of voltage and frequency. In this time, it is necessary to operate the generating capacity of solar PV in a reasonable manner to ensure the interests of solar power plants, and at the same time ensure the stabilization of power distribution on the grid. This paper presents a study on the application of sliding mode fuzzy logic control to control storage of the supercapacitor and battery energy stored system (CBESS) of solar power plants, which always change power by problems caused by outside. The development of autonomous cars in a real-world setting poses many challenges. This paper presents a low-cost, small-scale self-driving automobile model called ‘Zumee’, powered by a deep convolutional neural network. Zumee offers synchronised image data collection using a camera for deep learning models. The proposed model is experimentally validated using an Nvidia Jetson TX2 board as the onboard computer. Data augmentation, transfer learning, and neural networks are used to train the prototype model. Specifically, a convolutional neural network (CNN) model is trained using data from various scenarios. A robust dataset is generated by augmenting the images obtained using a camera to accommodate multiple environments. The prototype model is trained to imitate the policies used by a human supervisor to drive a robot car autonomously in a closed environment. The proposed prototype could be used as a base for more advanced driverless autonomous vehicles or for educational purposes as an economical prototype model.","PeriodicalId":241355,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129044660","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
