Once the bread is baked and out for selling, the edibility can be inspected using few factors as mold formation, unpleasant odor, strange taste, and hard texture. Amongst these factors, mold formation and hard texture can be captured through visual appearance. In this study, an approach is proposed to predict the edibility of bread by building a classifier utilizing texture-based feature descriptors. Also, variants of Local Binary Pattern are used for feature extraction and the performance is analyzed. It is observed from the experimentation that Opposite Color Local Binary Pattern performs well along with Random Forest Classifier with an accuracy of 90.68% on a dataset of 587 samples of bread images. The problem being addressed in this work is first of its kind with a domain of machine learning and hence is expected to open new challenges to be addressed.","PeriodicalId":241355,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115318610","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The matched flight time among the traces is achieved with multiple layer transitions using micro vias. This approach complements the conventional serpentine routing in PCB with limited board real estate. The study is carried out with time domain analysis by measuring flight time of the transmission line. The time domain analysis result shows that the flight time is matched within 7.5 ps using multiple micro vias. Furthermore, the frequency response analysis to examine the side effect of this complementary technique indicates that the extra insertion loss contributed by the multiple micro vias is insignificant, i.e., less than 0.25 dB across the full bandwidth of the DDR5 memory operation up to 10 GHz.","PeriodicalId":241355,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127466081","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As such, emerging standards demand that systems provide a minimum error performance at a minimum latency. Channel reliability on its own however is not sufficient to achieve overall system reliability (and availability) where the hardware involved needs to be analyzed as well. To address this, recent literature has analyzed the reliability and availability of existing MIMO implementations like space modulation techniques (SMTs). Moreover, recent literature has introduced new implementations like hybrid SMTs (HSMTs) that are known to offer better system availability than existing SMTs. However, what remains unclear, is how the reliability of SMTs and HSMTs compare to each other. In this paper, a comparative study between the reliability of HSMTs and SMTs is performed. It is revealed that although HSMTs offer better availability by design, HSMT reliability is not always better than its SMT counterparts.","PeriodicalId":241355,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125919117","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These qualities have been enhanced as a result of this growth. Computing in the cloud is an emerging technology that provides users with the ability to access data storage facilities as well as application access facilities in an online setting. This approach presents an almost infinite number of chances and difficulties. In light of this, ensuring the safety of one’s data and preventing the accumulation of duplicate or otherwise identical information in the cloud are both highly critical concerns that must be handled. As a result, a method known as deduplication was created to cut down on the amount of data in the identical storage system. In this investigation, a unique approach for removing repetitive or duplicate data from cloud servers, which will also help reduce the amount of internet access and storage space needed, has been presented. The results of the experiments show that the suggested system not only offers a higher level of protection for the data that is stored in stored in the cloud but also addresses the primary issues of rent systems.","PeriodicalId":241355,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123437059","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Simulation results show the high performance of this control method when compared to a double-fuzzy backstepping sliding mode controller (DFBSMC) and Fuzzy Backstepping Sliding Mode Controller (FBSMC). Moreover, the effectiveness of the controller is also demonstrated through simulation and experiment results when comparing the proposed controller with FBSMC and DFBSMC. The simulation results show that the convergence speed, braking ability, grip error, stability, fast response, and overshoot of the proposed controller DFBSMC are better than the FBSMC controller. Thereby concluding, the suggested control is in accordance with an adaptive-robust-fuzzy double controller and can be used as a supplement and replace of traditional backstepping control.","PeriodicalId":241355,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122876601","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, due to the current COVID-19 situation, teaching this practical subject has become unlearnable in the laboratory room. Therefore, the urgent requirement is to find a solution to virtualize many electrical-motor control lessons for online learning during the distant social period. In this paper, we propose a potential solution to online practical electrical motor control coursework based on Proteus software. Unlike the common Matlab Simulink approach, the Proteus has the advantage of digitizing both the Arduino device and the electric circuits. We demonstrate the usefulness of Proteus 8.2 software by implementing a circuit to control a 3-phase asynchronous motor using the pulse width control method, named sine PWM. Through the learning on Proteus software, students not only review the theoretical knowledge of electrical motors but also learn how to apply the theory through simulating virtualized Arduino devices and building a control circuit with the control block to control the motor in real-time. Furthermore, Proteus also supports printing out the control circuit board for the user. Proteus is, therefore, a suitable solution for online teaching of practice subjects for related majors.","PeriodicalId":241355,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129610044","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, in higher education, e-learning systems are essential, and the COVID-19 pandemic era has seen an increase in popularity of e-learning. Thus, it is critical to establish the extent to which students in higher education adopt e-learning. This paper focuses at developing a framework for e-learning technologies through the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) by incorporating system characteristics as its’ extended variable, which consists of three main constructs: system quality, content quality and information quality among university students in Malaysia. Regarding the system characteristics, the findings suggested that all three components that make up system characteristics had a significant positive influence on students’ perceived ease of use of the e-learning system, whereas only system quality and information quality had a significant positive impact on students’ perceived usefulness of the e-learning system. With respect to TAM, all relationships were found to be significant.","PeriodicalId":241355,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129143033","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This conventional charger operates at a fixed step-down voltage without any sensing or control of output voltage or current. Absence of any control causes the batteries to charge inconsistently which results in over charging, over temperature and most importantly waste of energy and faster degradation of battery life over time. Design and implementation of a locally developed high-frequency full-bridge DC-DC converter-based charging solution is presented in this paper. The developed charging system is compact, lightweight and features a modified closed loop digital control algorithm for independent control of output voltage and current. This system allows the batteries to be charged efficiently at predetermined voltage and current levels or to automatically follow a specific charging profile based on state-of-charge. A 1kW, 60V hardware prototype is also developed for performance analysis & comparison with existing solutions.","PeriodicalId":241355,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123524218","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While knowledge is visibly measurable in sport-related activities and in most stem courses by an individual’s ability to critically evaluate a problem, execute well-defined procedures and come up with an answer or range of possible propositions, evaluating knowledge acquisition in a programming task is a much complex task. Complex in the sense that a learner must master the syntactic, semantic, and logical details of a given language before being asserted as to have mastered the language. Ergo, it becomes evident, the difficulty of structuring a learner’s engagement process. Owing that the pattern of engagement is a determinant for the degree of knowledge acquired by a learner in programming courses. We adopted a tutorial walk-through strategy, which enables us to guide students in adopting a structured method of learning engagement. To appraise the effectiveness of our strategy, we evaluate our learner’s engagement activities using the count of errors they generate in the course of their learning activities. Engagement comparison across 3 semesters shows a sharp reduction in the count of syntax errors, which is indicative of an increase in the degree of knowledge acquisition, retention, and increased adoption of a structured pattern of learning engagement.","PeriodicalId":241355,"journal":{"name":"2022 International Conference on Engineering and Emerging Technologies (ICEET)","volume":"80 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124535608","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
