We show that this filtered regressor form allows us to estimate the disturbance using only measured state. Next, to improve convergence speed we propose a new adaptive observer with experience replay to ensure that disturbance estimate error is globally exponentially stable. Experience replay uses past measured data to not only assure that the observer estimation error converges to zero with a rate depends on the Minimum eigenvalue of the history stack matrix. Compared to the existing results, we neither use the knowledge of the disturbance dynamics nor the state derivatives in our adaptive protocol. Finally, we use a simulation example to illustrate the effectiveness of our results.","PeriodicalId":241335,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE Conference on Control Technology and Applications (CCTA)","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115488780","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Their high heat transfer coefficient is reached through evaporation and condensation of a working fluid, whose mass flow in the loop is established by capillary forces in a porous wick. However, the LHP operating temperature depends on the dissipated heat of the heat sources and the temperature of the heat sink. Thus, a heater on the compensation chamber of the LHP enables the temperature control under varying operating conditions. To realize the designed state-dependent nonlinear controller on actual LHPs, a nonlinear dynamical state estimation based on the square-root unscented Kalman filter (SR-UKF) is designed in this paper. This filter provides the controller with the required LHP states. Furthermore, the underlying nonlinear LHP state-space model with two temperature measurement is extended to four temperature measurements by modeling the overheated vapor in the LHP. It is shown in a numerical LHP simulation that the extended LHP state-space model improves the control performance achieving a higher robustness against the varying operating conditions.","PeriodicalId":241335,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE Conference on Control Technology and Applications (CCTA)","volume":"57 30","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"113933407","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper describes an optimization approach to transform the required control demand into the primary mirror support forces. Based on a quadratic cost function, the method performs a trade-off between the optical surface deflection and a weighted norm of the support forces. An iterative algorithm is proposed to handle actuator operational limits, without resorting to the more sophisticated techniques, such as quadratic programming methods. Such iterative procedure redistributes the control demand over the available degrees of freedom and can handle straightforwardly known actuator failures. Simulation results based on finite-element analysis data indicate relevant improvements in the gravity print-through achieved with the force balance algorithm used so far, using comparable actuators force magnitudes.","PeriodicalId":241335,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE Conference on Control Technology and Applications (CCTA)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124351131","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the fact that the operating point of wind turbines changes with the wind speed and that the plant is nonlinear, the controller includes a gain scheduling procedure to adjust the controller parameters. In order to avoid undesired oscillations on the tower due to the pitching activity, an active tower damping control is coupled with the pitch control. A 20 MW reference wind turbine is used as virtual plant, which is implemented in the simulation software FAST. Simulation results show that the control system based on the FOPID approach contributes to an improvement in the control performance of the wind turbine.","PeriodicalId":241335,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE Conference on Control Technology and Applications (CCTA)","volume":"8 23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116407956","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A novel method for describing the uncertainty set of wind distribution is proposed based on the variability of yearly wind distributions. Future wind conditions are assumed to vary within the uncertainty set. The lowest possible annual energy production in the future is set as the objective function. The optimization problem is solved by linear programming and genetic algorithms. The uncertainty and variability of energy production is reduced with the robust optimal layout and loss of energy production as the cost of robustness is compensated by the proper construction of uncertainty set. The proposed optimization method is compared with different optimization strategies. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed optimization method can achieve a trade-off between limiting the influence of uncertain wind and maximizing overall energy production.","PeriodicalId":241335,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE Conference on Control Technology and Applications (CCTA)","volume":"162 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123368940","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this case, the Turret cooperates with the Attacker by escorting the Attacker to the retreat surface, thereby minimizing its cost. Along the retreat trajectory, the cost associated with the Value of the Game of Engagement must be greater than the cost associated with retreating. We refer to this scenario as Optimal Constrained Retreat, wherein the aforementioned requirement is imposed as a path constraint. The optimality conditions are developed herein. We specify a boundary value problem with fixed initial state and compute the optimal trajectory numerically via backwards shooting. The corresponding trajectory contains a constrained arc wherein the path constraint associated with the Game of Engagement becomes active.","PeriodicalId":241335,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE Conference on Control Technology and Applications (CCTA)","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122537730","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the previous study, it was demonstrated that field-aware factorization machines (FFM) can estimate the yield rates achieved by unused machine combinations and identify important machine pairs with high accuracy. However, when the number of stages is large and the data of used machine combinations is not enough, the prediction accuracy will be low. Hence, we proposed important stage selection methods. Through two numerical examples, we confirmed that RMSE between the actual and predicted values of yield rates decreased by up to 66 % in comparison with a model using all stages.","PeriodicalId":241335,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE Conference on Control Technology and Applications (CCTA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125837429","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, a brief overview of each observer is outlined with the associated advantages. The design equations of each observer is required for the design of combined observer structure termed as PIFUIO. It is shown that the fading term of this observer plays a key role in reliable estimation of faults decoupled from the unknown disturbance or vice versa. Numerous different methods established in recent years, but most of them are limited to a small set of possible functions. The main purpose of this contribution is, to present a method for the approximation of the robust domain of attraction (RDA) for uncertain polynomial systems using rational instead of common quadratic Lyapunov functions (LF). We consider a polynomial system where the uncertainty is given by a polynomial mapping of an interval into the uncertainties. We use a bezoutian algorithmic approach for the estimation of the RDA. This algorithm successfully provides us with an enclosure of the RDA. The effectiveness of the technique is illustrated by some examples.","PeriodicalId":241335,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE Conference on Control Technology and Applications (CCTA)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116660246","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
