As a result, it was revealed that the calculated macroscopic behavior of the artificial economic system shows in good agreement with that of a real system in that the market price tends to an equilibrium price depending on the supply and demand of products in the market, two types of producers, winners and losers, arise depending on the production cost with some of the losers ending up going bankrupt, and a business cycle emerges through the fund circulation among agents where total deposit and loaned money in the bank showed cyclic up and down movement in time.","PeriodicalId":240226,"journal":{"name":"2009 Fourth International Conference on Innovative Computing, Information and Control (ICICIC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130546070","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Under this environment, learners and instructors are able to perform collaborative learning and engage in group discussions regardless of their locations and types of computer systems. The algorithm mainly revert cracks and remove texts from photos. It makes full use of the nonlinear anisotropic diffusion of p-Laplace operator to inpaint damaged images. To test the models, we use standard Peak Signal to Noise Ratio(PSNR) and program runtime to quantify inpainting performance. Experimental results show that our algorithm's PSNRs are larger than CDD's and the runtimes are smaller; the proposed algorithm can improve inpainting speed and keep sharp edges; inpainting quality is improved.","PeriodicalId":240226,"journal":{"name":"2009 Fourth International Conference on Innovative Computing, Information and Control (ICICIC)","volume":"288 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131934748","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, wide variety of market regimes and existence of hard-to-model periods reduces universe of financial instruments and achievable performance ranges for which such portfolio strategies can be found. Recently introduced generic regularization approach based on confusing (noisy) sample removal was shown to be effective for diversification of portfolio strategies discovered by boosting-based optimization. Here we argue and demonstrate that this regularization technique could be also effective in dealing with large periods of excessive volatility and significantly reduced determinism in training data. In the most recent history such situation occurred during current financial crisis. The algorithm for confusing sample removal is outlined and applied to the recent market data in the context of mid-frequency intraday trading.","PeriodicalId":240226,"journal":{"name":"2009 Fourth International Conference on Innovative Computing, Information and Control (ICICIC)","volume":"212 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130277489","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Because of numerous advantages fuzzy models are often preferred to describe such systems. However, in many cases the generated models are very complex. In the paper, a new fuzzy modeling method of nonlinear system is proposed. The fuzzy model is identified as black-box model with input-output training data. A modified self-organizing map (MSOM) network is developed for generating parameters of fuzzy model. Based on the MSOM, fuzzy rules are determined automatically according to the distribution of training data in the input-output space. Simulating example indicates that the fuzzy modeling method is effective.","PeriodicalId":240226,"journal":{"name":"2009 Fourth International Conference on Innovative Computing, Information and Control (ICICIC)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121227466","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently, wheelchairs are required to have the ability to adapt to roads with uneven ground or unexpected obstacles. Therefore, how to simultaneously maintain the speed and direction of a power-wheelchair in an unknown environment is an important issue. To this end, an active synchronized control structure with the PI compensator has been proposed. In this research, the motion of the wheelchair is classified into straight and curved mode based on the joystick operation; meanwhile, the synchronized motion ratio is also calculated by operating a joystick. From analyzing the dynamic behavior of a power-wheelchair, synchronized error of the dual wheels can be derived. In particular, through the design of a PI compensator, the synchronized error between the dual wheels can be reduced actively. Simulations and experiments are both conducted to realize the synchronized control of a power-wheelchair.","PeriodicalId":240226,"journal":{"name":"2009 Fourth International Conference on Innovative Computing, Information and Control (ICICIC)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2009-12-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116778417","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
