There are two types of office functions in a branch: front-office operations (i.e., counter work), and back office operations. The latter functions require many office clerks and large amounts of time. To enable efficient back-office operations, banks are now moving these operations to centralized business operation center. Forms received from customers at branches are scanned with image scanner, and the scanned data are then transferred electronically to the centralized business operation center. There, the back-office functions can be performed more effectively. Branches handle a wide variety of forms, to which the centralized business operation center must correspond. Consequently, the challenge is to reduce the development cost of client applications used in this center. We propose new client application architecture based on a framework extending the delegation event model and a component connection method using an event adapter. In this architecture, client applications can he developed by simply describing the screen configurations and their transitions in XML documents. By utilizing our architecture, we developed client applications for the central business operation center of a new bank branch system. To characterize the transmission and reflection mechanism over the UWB frequency range, the frequency dependent permittivity must be taken into account. Therefore, an effective formulation is derived for the calculation of the material permittivity for the indoor environment. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss are studied at UWB communication frequency with different materials and thicknesses. This new formulation shows that the complex dielectric constant can be accurately determined with less computation time. We use the method that decomposes the range and texture images in hierarchical structures using wavelet transform and scales up pixels of texture by using the information of the range images coded by EZW-IP. This coding method enables an efficient coding and progressive scalability representation of a 3D model. The color (RGB) components are transformed into YCbCr. Cb and Cr components are downsampled by a factor of two along both the horizontal and vertical directions. The standard deviation of 8/spl times/8 blocks of the Y component is used to select between DCT and SVD. The DCT is used to transform the highly correlated blocks of the YCbCr components, while the SVD is used to transform blocks with low correlation. Conceptually, by properly reducing the variance of host media, lower bit error rate and smaller chip-rate can be obtained. A technique of variance reduction is therefore applied by decreasing a dynamic range of the host signal. Moreover, when using the proposed technique in which some pixels having particular values are considered and modified, higher quality of the watermarked media in term of PSNR is obtained. The results show that without knowledge of original media, the embedded watermark can be recovered with a smaller chip-rate, compared to the traditional spread spectrum based methods. Additive noise in a speech signal is suppressed by this method using running spectrum filtering (RSF). RSF is digital filtering in the frequency domain. The noise reduction method using RSF does not need estimated noise spectra. We propose a method of reducing the musical noise generated by speech noise reduction which uses RSF. Synchronization between the analog solver and digital simulation kernel is an important challenge in mixed signal simulation. In this paper we introduce an algorithm for mixed signal simulation that reduces unnecessary interaction between digital and analog simulation kernels. For this purpose we use a common data structure, and we eliminate invocation of the digital kernel by the analog. This paper discusses our common data structure, simulation process, and analog/digital synchronization algorithm.
