This phenomenon suggests the desire to explain the norms and values of Christianity to the Chinese audience through the prism of the traditional foundations of Chinese culture. Examples of cultural Christianity include Chinese intelligentsia's fascination with the history and philosophy of Christianity; Chinese masters' creating Christian images and scenes of the Virgin Mary, the Nativity, etc. in the traditional Chinese guohua style; Chinese deltiology with pictures of famous temples in Harbin; the folklore heritage of Harbin residents, etc. Sharing the idea of the existence of cultural Christianity phenomenon, the authors analyze the works of the contemporary Chinese writer Bei Cun. After 1992, when he converted to Christianity, a key transformation took place in his work. Bei Cun strives to convey to the Chinese audience the Christian categories of sin, redemption, guilt, forgiveness, love, etc. The main theme of the novel I Have a Covenant with God comes down to the Christian concept that all people are born sinful and hope for redemption, and that confession of sin and repentance are the basis for forgiveness. According to the plot, the first chapters of the novel tell us that the main character, Chen Busen, has fallen into the abyss of sin. Being abandoned by his parents, he becomes a criminal and a murderer. In the final chapters, Chen Busen's soul finds redemption through comprehension, sincere repentance, and even love for the victim's relatives. Thus, by describing the contemporary realities of Chinese society in his works, Bei Cun introduces Christian ideas and values into the Chinese picture of the world and tries to bring Christianity and Chinese culture together.","PeriodicalId":236873,"journal":{"name":"World of Russian-speaking countries","volume":"79 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125973125","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article aims at a political scientific analysis of the socio-cultural factors in the formation of the civil identity of the young Russians during the period of social and cultural transformation in modern Russia. The article emphasizes the role of state power in the development of civil consciousness of the Russians (educational and youth policy), presents a study to identify factors that influence the formation of civic identity, according to teachers of educational establishments and university lecturers. The issue of the Internet influence on the developing personality is outlined, as the features of the online social communications era are the displacement of the traditional value scale and fundamental social structures of personal development, constant “experimentation” of the younger generation's own identity, the predominance of the subjective component of identity in the overall structure of the younger generation's self-consciousness. Therefore, family, education, youth policy of the state, and public institutions are the space of systemic formation of the youth civic identity, aimed at the preservation of historical memory, culture, and traditions of the state. The author proves that only systemic integration of all subjects in the country's civil society development, while in the long period of transformation, as well as the interaction of all participants of the process in the integral national system of forming the civic identity of the young Russians, will allow to have a developed, active and stable civil society.","PeriodicalId":236873,"journal":{"name":"World of Russian-speaking countries","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116375468","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It describes the origin and development of the Russian language world in Chongqing in the 50s of the XX century, as well as the major scientific and methodological achievements of Chongqing teachers, who enriched Russian studies in China. Significant attention is paid to the personality of Professor Cheng Xianguang, who devoted his life to the study and spread of the Russian language in China, to strengthening friendship between the nations, to the establishment of international cooperation and exchanges between the PRC and the USSR and Russia. In addition, there is a story about the rise of the Southwestern Institute of the Russian Language in Chongqing's Beibei district (now the SUIA), specializing in teaching the most demanded profession at the time; about the university's policy to invite Russian specialists to work from the early years, and about the great pedagogical, methodological, practical, scientific and ethical contribution of Soviet scientists to the promotion of the Russian language in Chongqing. Besides, the article also focuses on the two-volume “Academic Dictionary of the Russian Language”, a long-term work of Chongqing Russian scholars, which has won several prizes and is still relevant and in demand. The author concludes on the current state of the Russian language in Chongqing and the potential for work in this area.","PeriodicalId":236873,"journal":{"name":"World of Russian-speaking countries","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130283840","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Speech etiquette includes communicatively significant meanings: social, international, emotional and evaluative, and identifying and understanding these meanings is impossible without taking into account the national specifics of etiquette rules. The article examines in detail the formulas of speech etiquette related to the situations of address, gratitude, apology and request in Russian and Chinese, analyzes the system of kinship terms in Chinese, which is more detailed compared to the Russian language, provides the results of analyzing the use of proper names in speech formulas. The article considers the choice of lexical means in address, request and gratitude, depending on the characteristics of the communicative situation (the relationship between the addressee and the addressant, the communicative situation, the method and purpose of communication, the tone of communication, etc.). The author gives examples of various speech scenarios in Chinese communication, analyzes the tendency to euphemizing speech in Chinese etiquette formulas, and concludes that a comparative analysis of speech etiquette in modern Russian and Chinese helps to increase cultural awareness in the use of language and understanding that the peculiarities of speech interaction of the communicants require attention not only to the linguistic structures themselves, but also to the specifics of speech behavior and the associated pragmatics of communication.","PeriodicalId":236873,"journal":{"name":"World of Russian-speaking countries","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133509101","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The cultural background of literature in Russian was originally historical Russia within the Russian statehood. In the 20th century, this literature divided into the literature of the metropolis and the literature of the Russian-speaking diaspora. Since the end of the XX century, due to historical and political perturbations, literature in Russian is produced in different countries of the world, resulting not only from literary migrations, but also from autonomous literary processes in these regions and countries. It is possible to speak of both global communications in the Russian-speaking world and the existence of local Russian-speaking literary communities. Literature is created by Russian-speaking writers on different cultural bases, it acquires specific features depending on this basis, but also in conjunction with memories of the Russian literary tradition and global literary trends. The subject of the study is not the diaspora community as such, but the historical and cultural situation in which Russian-language literature, originally based primarily within certain state boundaries, goes beyond them and exists independently of those state institutions that have traditionally been associated with it in one way or another. The article characterizes the cultural phenomenon of diaspora as “ethnic marginality”, an ethno-cultural community functioning in a non-ethnic context, and considers the main historical and cultural stages of the relationship between the metropolis and the diaspora. Particular attention is paid to the crisis situation in the writer's work. Being in an alien socio-cultural environment, the writer acquired a special cross-cultural writing experience as a condition and creative reflection, caused by a change of environment and the loss of the familiar, usual values of the native culture, and by questions about one's identity, when previous experiences became an attribute of memory and reflection.","PeriodicalId":236873,"journal":{"name":"World of Russian-speaking countries","volume":"92 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127054017","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Rasputin's works and Russian rural prose in China. The author notes that Russian “rural prose” and the work of the major writer of this genre, Rasputin, have outstanding artistic characteristics and have an important influence on Chinese modern and contemporary literature. This article discusses in detail the main stages of studying Rasputin's work and “rural prose” in Chinese literary criticism, as well as outlines and comments on the various scientific points of view of Chinese scholars. The article identifies three stages in studying this phenomenon of Russian literature: the first stage - 1980s-1990s, when Chinese literary scholars focused on ethical issues and issues of national character, seeing in the rural prose an attempt at spiritual salvation and the revival of national consciousness. The second stage is from the 1990s to the first decade of XXI century, in the period of “reform and opening up” in China when contradictions between urban and rural areas were intensified, and many modern Chinese writers expressed in their works a call to protect national culture, which caused their natural interest in V. Rasputin's works, depicting the fierce clash of national culture and Western civilization in the period of social transformations. Finally, the third stage is the beginning of the 21st century, when Chinese studies of Russian rural prose gain many new directions and perspectives (comparativist and narratological studies).","PeriodicalId":236873,"journal":{"name":"World of Russian-speaking countries","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130564427","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The authors note that from the second half of the last century in the field of the humanities there was a turn in the interpretation of the function of space in the literary text, the concept “spatial narrative” was included in science. If traditional narrative theory attached great importance to temporal measurement, space was simply a background, then in many modernist and postmodern works, as the traditional interpretation of the time category was overcome, the spatial dimension took no less place in the structure of the text than the previously temporal dimension, which is observed in most of Makanin's works: being a necessary element, space participates in the promotion of the plot, the creation of character images and the organization of the form of the work itself. The writer poses the problem of maintaining individuality as a hero, his personal integrity and self-identity. In these works, Makanin creates a variety of spatial worlds in a special way, and thanks to spatial images, Makanin's heroes with varying degree of success are looking for a way to preserve their own self in this life.
