The fifth-grader of elementary school students' low collaborative skills encourage the researcher to develop a science project learning model with an entrepreneurship model to improve these skills. The purpose of this research is to determine the effectiveness of the learning model by implementing quasi-experiment, with one group pre-test and post-test design. Data analysis methods used were t-test, N-Gain analysis, and one-way analysis of variance (One Way Anova) to determine if there was an improvement after learning. The results of the analysis using the t-test showed a significant increase in pre- and post-test (p 0.05), with post-test values better than pre-test (negative t). The results of the N-Gain analysis showed the average increase in student scores in the high category (≥0.70), and the results of the analysis of the one-track variance showed no difference in each group (p 0.05). In general, the findings indicate that the learning model is effective in improving the collaborative skills of elementary school students.","PeriodicalId":236584,"journal":{"name":"Mimbar Sekolah Dasar","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124281641","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Witnessing that some classes are having limited English story books to read as well as ready-to-use follow-up activities, this article proposes reading activities using e-book application Let’s Read! that can be applied after the regular reading activities. Ranging from the low leveled-books to the advanced ones, the proposed activities in this extensive reading class are integrated; combining tasks that require children to experience Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL) as well as having both individual and group offline work. This type of reading activity promotes L2 learner language development, increases their motivation in reading, and helps them build reading habits. At the same time, the alpha generation maximizes the use of technology to get themselves updated with the changing use of online applications such as Let’s Read!","PeriodicalId":236584,"journal":{"name":"Mimbar Sekolah Dasar","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131376324","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Language skills consist of two receptive skills (listening and reading), and two productive skills (speaking and writing). Those four skills are expected to be practiced equally. However, based on the previous research, listening lessons were rarely implemented in class. Moreover, listening lesson were inappropriately implemented by asking students to read. Additionally, the listening tests to measure the students’ listening proficiency were also unsuitable. Based on those findings, the researchers conducted a listening lesson developmental research for the first-grade primary school. This research is part of a developmental research referring to Gall, Gall, and Borg’s developmental research steps. This research is the second of five planned research phases. In this second phase, the researchers developed a listening lesson prototype validated by six validators. To validate the data, this research employed the triangulation method. Meanwhile, Miles and Huberman’s data analysis technique was utilized to analyze the data. The result of this research was a listening lesson prototype, including the mapping of basic competencies, networking of themes, determining of listening learning success indicators, learning stages, and listening evaluation.","PeriodicalId":236584,"journal":{"name":"Mimbar Sekolah Dasar","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114387065","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The low contribution and discontinuity of teachers in the PLC programs in primary schools have impacted on the lack of optimization of the PLC programs as a support for sustained improvement of teacher professionalism. This research employed a descriptive research design with a survey approach involving 52 primary school teachers in Sumerdang Regency. The research results revealed that even though the teachers’ understanding of the PLC program objectives was very high, the teachers’ understanding of the PLC program mechanism was still low. Thus, this resulted in the low level of the implementation of the PLC program in primary schools, both in programs and regulations. Therefore, further research is expected to produce the operational, structured, and applicable PLC programs in order to increase the teachers’ participation in implementing the PLC programs for improving teacher professionalism, and having a real impact on the improvement of the quality of learning in primary schools.","PeriodicalId":236584,"journal":{"name":"Mimbar Sekolah Dasar","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132509071","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
