The Urban Heat Island (UHI) is a phenomenon where urban areas are experiencing high temperature than the surrounding rural areas. The current rapid urbanization in India cause of temperature rises, undeniable climatic changes etc. because of it heat island phenomenon occur which call for a need to address the issue of its consequences and awareness. To counterbalance this, various mitigation strategies has been introduced and new technologies are developed which helps in identifying the hot pockets in a city. Due to the seriousness of the problem, extensive research has been done and a lot of literature study of the subject is available. The literature in this domain provides the most up-to-date research methods, concepts, procedures, investigative tools, and mitigation strategies. The aim of this paper is to present state of the art on environmental benefits of UHI mitigation applied at city scale level like benefits of green roof, high albedo material, water body, modification in building envelope and also suggest that future study should concentrate on design and planning characteristics in order to minimize the level of urban heat island and, as a result, live in a better environment. ","PeriodicalId":232897,"journal":{"name":"Architecture Engineering and Science","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134639763","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When the impact exceeds the manageable limits and becomes irreversible, the environment can no longer sustain the intense human activity, which leads not only to the degradation of the natural environment but also consequentially affects the functioning of the urban system in social, economic, and physical terms. Planning of self-sustaining environments is possible with the establishment of principles of development in harmony with nature. Tools from the field of applied ecology need to be utilised to establish urban environments. The planning of the urban environment is possible with the application of the ecological method, which involves the determination of selected natural features of the area, their interpretation, and evaluation within a value system. The natural factors of the area to determine suitability for urbanisation with the aim of preservation and efficient utilisation of natural resources have been analysed. The persistency of the carrying capacity of the land based on the constraints has been studied. The paper also attempts to establish the ecologically sustainable planning of the town of Gurgaon in the national capital region of India. Gurgaon is one of the nearest satellite towns of New Delhi, the capital of India. It was envisaged as an area with tremendous potential which could alleviate the pressure on the capital.","PeriodicalId":232897,"journal":{"name":"Architecture Engineering and Science","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122379446","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Space for contemplation can also lead the architect towards spiritual realms. The current era can be described as tumultuous, changeable, and unsettled. Rapid urbanisation and extreme intensification are being accompanied by technical advancements and a push for sustainability. Traditional architecture was often purpose-built with little care for adapting to new users, various purposes, or changing conditions down the road. Today, however, it is suggested that building flexibility is urgently required due to climate change, changing demographics, resource depletion, and affordability issues. It is believed that architecture in the twenty-first century must approach similar levels of flexibility and adaptability for a variety of reasons, one of which being the mental health and spiritual connection of the user. Rather than deconstructing structures to fill landfills, our architecture should be designed to be disassembled, reassembled, and reused in order to generate spaces of contemplation. There can be various ways in which architecture can bring out such spaces. It can be a garden oasis in urban land crowded with buildings, a small skylight in a dark space, framing a window to form a vista. Which language of architecture has to be used to create contemplative space depends upon for whom the space is being designed. The current study is the result of extensive literature reviews in the fields of contemplative architecture and spirituality. The focus of this paper is to study the impact of physical surroundings and architectural structures on leading a healthy lifestyle. Different spaces can be designed which connect the user to themselves in a deeper way by proposing a space where they have freedom to think or meditate and feel the present moment. People suffering from depression or stress can benefit from such contemplative spaces.","PeriodicalId":232897,"journal":{"name":"Architecture Engineering and Science","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127131642","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In Tengger Desert section of Wuma expressway, the temperature difference is large, and the cracking of temperature shrinkage and dry shrinkage is difficult to avoid, resulting in the decline of pavement structure strength. Once the semi-rigid base is cracked, the asphalt pavement is equivalent to a flexible structure; the residual fatigue strength is greatly reduced; the long-term service performance of pavement structure can not be guaranteed; the durability is poor, the damage layer is deep; the repair is difficult and the cycle is long; maintenance costs are relatively high. This paper analyzes the causes of pavement cracks in the harsh environment in the hinterland of Tengger Desert, and studies its mechanism and treatment scheme.","PeriodicalId":232897,"journal":{"name":"Architecture Engineering and Science","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131379077","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The construction of large-scale urban complex projects is large in scale and complex in business form. After completion, energy consumption expenses account for nearly 80% of the entire operation cost. Therefore, it is particularly important to select energy saving schemes for the construction of large commercial complex projects. This paper takes a large commercial complex project in a city as an example, analyzes and compares its energy saving schemes, and calculates the comprehensive energy consumption of the selected schemes, so as to demonstrate whether the energy saving schemes meet the energy consumption policies advocated by the state and provide reference for other similar projects.","PeriodicalId":232897,"journal":{"name":"Architecture Engineering and Science","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125029537","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fluoride pollution has been widespread throughout India for decades. Because groundwater is India's primary supply of drinking water, fluoride pollution is a concern. The permissible limit of fluoride concentration by WHO is 0.6-1.5 mg/l while Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) prescribes rather less vibrant range of fluoride 1-1.5 mg/l. Present study is review of fluoride concentration change in groundwater in past two decades of Indian states as well as validating the relation of fluoride concentrations with Depth to water level. With increasing depth to water level, the fluoride concentration in groundwater increases in 80% of the cases reviewed. Concentration of fluoride in Guwahati which is near the Brahmaputra River is higher (0.18 – 6.88 mg/l) than Nalbari (0.02 – 1.56 mg/l) which is away from Brahmaputra. There has been no significant change in the fluoride concentration in cases of Yavatamal & Guntur district during past two decades. In Nagaur district of Rajasthan fluoride concentration decreased from 8.5-28 mg/l in (2010) to 0.5-8.5 mg/l in (2013). In Unnao district fluoride concentration has increased from 1.45-3.75 mg/l in (2002) to 0.8-13.9 mg/l (2010). In case of Bihar, the areas of hard rock formations, the fluoride concentration were found to be higher while in the alluvial formations there were lesser cases of fluoride exceeding the required limit which is 1.5 mg/l. In Vellore district of Tamil Nadu fluoride concentration was found to be increasing within a period of 1 year from 0.2 – 3 mg/l in (2017) to 2.15 – 4.91 mg/l in (2018).","PeriodicalId":232897,"journal":{"name":"Architecture Engineering and Science","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127770724","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Three-dimensional printing, often known as 3D printing, allows you to create a work of art quickly, easily, and in great detail. 3D printers can create a wide range of objects, including statues, automobile components, toys, shoes, furniture, clothing, weaponry, human body parts, and more, and their printing capabilities will only improve in the future. This type of technology must be presented to students in a formal and creative manner in their creation activities in order to develop them to be creative thinkers who can use technology as a medium to fulfil their creativity. The technology of 3D printing can influence creativity, resulting in the realisation of ideas inside the design creation process without having to go through the lengthy design process. The purpose of this research paper is to see how creative products can be designed while using technology. The systematic literature review has been explored through internet and secondary data from relevant published academic literature from journals articles and research papers. The case study method is used to identify extensive information through an in-depth analysis of existing cases in Interior and product design.","PeriodicalId":232897,"journal":{"name":"Architecture Engineering and Science","volume":"130 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121179007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the topological analysis framework of the dotted-line relationship of physical space is introduced, and it is found that the topology of the catalyst effect has distinct characteristics. This is a minor innovation in the understanding of urban catalyst theory. A case of urban catalyst theory illustrates a full process of transforming the elements that produce the catalyst effect from \"grand-centered structure\" to \"polycentric structure\" to \"distributed structure\". Starting from the classic case, this paper reproduces and further shows the occurrence process of the catalyst effect from the perspective of topology, and uses more cases to show the design of different types of catalyst effects, providing new ideas and references for future design on catalyst effects for different situations.","PeriodicalId":232897,"journal":{"name":"Architecture Engineering and Science","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128828737","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
