Case Presentation: The tests carried out on a small population of the female gender showed that the vaccine essentially does not create any oxidative distress unlike Sars COV-2 which instead generates an oxidative storm which, as per literature data, precedes the well-known cytokine storm. We assume that this is due to the different response induced by the vaccine which selectively stimulates lymphocytes without therefore stimulating the activity of macrophages which is instead activated by COVID-19. Conclusion: This study aims to be the starting point for a larger population study that correlates oxidative mechanisms with the vaccine-induced immune response.","PeriodicalId":232854,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medical - Clinical Research & Reviews","volume":"106 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132603825","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is slowly developing and progressing disease characterized by mostly irreversible pathophysiological changes resulting in gradual loss of pulmonary function. It presents with different phenotypes associated with specific pathophysiological changes in individual patients. Diagnostic evaluation of COPD traditionally includes pulmonary function tests (PFT) using spirometry. Spirometry is considered to be the internationally accepted gold standard diagnostic method during evaluation for COPD. Although spirometry is commonly used to diagnose COPD, it may sometime lack adequate sensitivity to detect fine pathophysiological changes associated with particular phenotypes of COPD. Development and use of new alternate diagnostic methods could improve not only diagnosis of COPD, but also optimize the management and treatments.","PeriodicalId":232854,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medical - Clinical Research & Reviews","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115796357","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As psychotherapist specializing in work with parents for the last sixteen years, and a physician who has worked with adolescents for seventeen years, in this presentation, we propose to consider the analogy between the dynamics of the overprotective family and those of the overactive immune system in autoimmune disorders, and that they are both manifestations of the structures and mechanisms of narcissistic anxiety. The overprotective parenting style is characterised by parents who present guarding behaviour that is excessive considering the child’s developmental stage and the actual risk level in their environment. Overprotective parents tend to obsess over their children’s physical and emotional safety, at a level that exceeds the actual level of risk [2]. The impact of overprotective family dynamics upon the emotional development of a child has been extensively discussed [3]. Analogous to this, autoimmune diseases are clinical manifestations of aberrant and \"hyper-reactive\" autoimmune responses to self-antigens of normal bodily constituents leading to inflammation, cell injury, or a functional disturbance [1]. Medical literature has suggested the correlation between emotional disorders and a variety of autoimmune diseases [4]. This presentation suggests to consider the possibility that high levels of anxiety underlie both overprotective manifestations. Instead of functioning as defence mechanisms aimed to protect the self, they are diverted into a direct attack on it.","PeriodicalId":232854,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medical - Clinical Research & Reviews","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116793118","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods: Women were excluded for pathological causes of fluid retention, e.g., hypothyroidism, Cushing’s syndrome, heart failure, or renal or hepatic disease. Dextroamphetamine sulfate was initiated at 15mg extended-release capsules with the option of increasing the dosage as necessary up to a maximum of 60mg a day. Results: Forty-four percent of the women lost at least 10% of their initial body weight in 6 months and 42% still lost at least 10% by 5 years. For the first 4 years there were about 15% who lost about 15% of their initial body weight. At 5 years only 7% failed to have any weight reduction compared to their initial weight. Conclusion: The amphetamines seemed to cause weight reduction by diminishing fluid retention rather than causing caloric reduction.","PeriodicalId":232854,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medical - Clinical Research & Reviews","volume":"108 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132749835","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) of the ovary was first defined by Austin and Norris in 1987. Malignant primary tumors arising in the uterine broad ligament are extremely rare. To date, its pathogenesis is unclear. In the discussion we focus on the pathomorphological and immunohistochemical analysis of transitional cell carcinomas in the genital tract and their differential diagnosis from transitional cell carcinomas of the urinary tract / ureter and bladder. Due to the high malignant potential, the prognosis is unfavorable and requires optimal complex treatment, including radical surgery followed by systemic chemotherapy.","PeriodicalId":232854,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medical - Clinical Research & Reviews","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133134931","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The etiology remains unclear. Desmoid tumors can be found in the abdominal wall, abdominal cavity, trunk and limbs. When sporadic, the abdominal wall is the most common site, particularly around the rectus abdominis muscle, with tumors tending to develop in young women of reproductive age or those who have suffered trauma, principally pregnant or postpartum women. Due to its unpredictable clinical course and high recurrence rate, the exclusive use of resection with a wide safety margin, the treatment of choice in cases of advanced tumors, has been questioned. This paper describes a case of a large desmoid tumor on the abdominal wall that developed in the 10th week of pregnancy in a 29-year-old patient with no history of familial adenomatous polyposis. Ultrasound showed that the tumor had increased around 158% during pregnancy. The patient underwent Cesarean section during which a mass of around 20 cm was detected between the anterior and posterior layer of the aponeurosis of the rectus abdominis muscle. Conservative management (no intervention) was adopted with follow-up imaging. Ultrasound-guided core biopsy was performed four and a half months after delivery, with histopathology revealing a spindle cell neoplasm, with possible musculoaponeurotic fibromatosis. Six months after childbirth, the tumor had decreased spontaneously by 40.5% in thickness and nine months following delivery the patient continues to be monitored under expectant management, with no complaints or symptoms. Although rare, obstetricians should be aware of the possibility of a desmoid tumor during pregnancy and should evaluate the best management option (surgery, pharmacological treatment or expectant management) according to the patient’s profile in order to avoid visceral complications, the need for extensive surgery with possible aesthetic and functional sequelae, and even iatrogenic complications.","PeriodicalId":232854,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Medical - Clinical Research & Reviews","volume":"199 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-08-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115886229","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
