The main scope was to investigate the forms of dynamical stability loss, considering finite displacements. The granular medium weight and additional external load transmitted from the surface were considered with different backfill height over the cylindrical shell. Application of a discrete model enables to consider random imperfections in the granular medium structure. It is shown that imperfections of a granular soil structure occurring in a close surrounding of the shell have an essential impact on the shell deformations. Numerical modelling, using the discrete element method, enables to obtain solutions of dynamic interaction by investigating finite two dimensional deformations.\u0000Keywords: discrete element method, cylindrical shell, granular medium, stability\u0000\u0000

NLGI class) including different mass concentration concentration (0.05%, 0.1%, 0.2%, 0.5%, 1%, 2%) of additives: graphene oxide (produced by the Institute of Electronic Materials Technology, Warsaw) and hexagonal boron nitride (produced by the Military University of Technology, Warsaw). In the first part of this publication there is elementary information about graphene and its applications, especially in tribological field. The next part of the paper contains the results of research on the mentioned above samples, which were investigated with four-ball apparatus T-02 and Universal Micro/Nano Tester UNMT (CETR, CA, USA), at the Department of Tribology and Service Fluids Logistics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Military University of Technology. The results proved a positive effect of adding graphene oxide or hexagonal boron nitride to basic grease on its tribological properties. In case of “water dispersion of graphene oxide”, its tribological properties were similar to the samples including significant concentration of GO.\u0000Keywords: graphene, grease, graphene oxide, hexagonal boron nitride\u0000\u0000

The investigations were carried out on the special stand which was projected for this aim. On this stand there was used the modified Brookfield viscosimeter. Electrorheological properties of two mixtures were tested, i.e., silicone damping liquid GP-1 which is polimethylsiloksane mixture containing 2% (v/v) of ionic liquid CJ 001, i.e., tetrafluoroboran 1-methyl-3-octyloxymethylimidazolium as well as base polialfaolefine oil PAO-6 which contains 2% (v/v) of ionic liquid CJ 008, i.e., trihexyltetradecylphosphonium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide. Selection of components of both mixtures was based on the results of investigations of miscible and on evaluation of basic phys-chem properties. The investigations showed that the made mixtures have generated the ER effect, but it was short-lived effect, suggesting the changes of inner structure of these mixtures. Therefore, we have planned the next investigations, among others dielectric spectroscopy and microscope observations in situ of these mixtures in external electric fields. The aim of those investigations will be to record the fading ER effect and to understand this mechanism.\u0000Keywords: electrorheological effect, homogenous mixtures, lubricants, ionic liquids\u0000\u0000
