However, dynamic business motivates modifying existed ontology according to the continuous changes, which is hard to be done manually due to the growing size of ontology. Thus automatic method is needed for ontology evolution. In this paper, an instance-driven ontology evolution approach is proposed to cope with the dynamic changes in ontology evolution. The proposed approach suggests changing directions to users to control the process of evolution. Then the changes of ontology are formalized with elementary and composite changes which are considered as the basis of evolution. Moreover, the identification of changes is realized by instances analyzing. Finally, the approach is tested in a hospital database. The result shows instance-driven ontology evolution is an efficient method to cope with data conception changes in enterprise data management.","PeriodicalId":231641,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE 8th International Conference on e-Business Engineering","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122128662","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The right decision in producing new products or services based on data about customers' characteristics means profit for organization/company. This paper proposes a new architecture for Opinion Mining, which uses a multidimensional model to integrate customers' characteristics and their comments about products (or services). The key step to achieve this objective is to transfer comments (opinions) to a fact table that includes several dimensions, such as, customers, products, time and locations. This research presents a comprehensive way to calculate customers' orientation for all possible products' attributes. A use case study is also presented in this paper to show the advantages of using OLAP and data cubes to analyze costumers' opinions.","PeriodicalId":231641,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE 8th International Conference on e-Business Engineering","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132233966","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Maintaining sufficient web resources just to meet performance during peak demands can be costly. Compute Cloud provides a powerful environment to allow dynamic scaling of web applications without the needs for user intervention. In this paper, we present a case study on the scalability and performance of web applications in a Cloud. We describe a novel dynamic scaling architecture with a front-end load-balancer for routing user requests to web applications deployed on virtual machine instances with the goal of maximizing resource utilization in instances while minimizing total number of instances. A scaling algorithm for automated provisioning of virtual resources based on threshold number of active user sessions will be introduced. The on-demand capability of the Cloud to rapidly provision and dynamically allocate resources to users will be discussed. Our work has demonstrated the compelling benefits of a Cloud which is capable of sustaining performance upon sudden load surges, delivering satisfactory IT resources on-demands to users, and maintaining high resource utilization, thus reducing infrastructure and management costs.","PeriodicalId":231641,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE 8th International Conference on e-Business Engineering","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129504484","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The techniques from this emerging field have shown great potential in many business areas including drug design, agriculture, and so on. Meanwhile, this new computational field has also been one of the largest consumers of computational power, as the analyses in bioinformatics are often extremely computationally or data intensive. Although there are already several projects which have done tentative exploration on deploying bioinformatics applications to cloud environments, the deployment is ad-hoc and restricted to a single private cloud environment. Moreover, the complexity of various demands of bench biologists and bioinformaticians also brings new challenges to bioinformatics cloud development. In this paper, we first identify the key participants and their interactions in a public bioinformatics cloud environment, where bioinformatic analyses are consumed as services on top of a cloud infrastructure. After that, we propose a research framework to discuss the domain-specific technical challenges in delivering such a solution. Finally, we summarize the existing related research efforts based on our framework and introduce our ongoing Web Lab project.","PeriodicalId":231641,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE 8th International Conference on e-Business Engineering","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130270569","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, mobile devices have a major drawback of limited computing power and resources such as main memory and battery life. Service-based mobile applications are emerged as an efficient solution to overcome this limitation of mobile devices. On the other hand, with the advent of more powerful mobile devices, mobile devices are actively participating as computer nodes and performing enterprise functionality. In this paper, we present a practical framework for dynamically deploying services. With the ever increasing computing power of mobile devices, we project that mobile devices can also be used as computer nodes deploying services. A number of benefits for deploying services on mobile devices existed. In this paper, we define an ecosystem for service-based mobile computing, and present techniques for deploying services on station nodes and mobile nodes, which are challenging problems. By applying dynamical deployment of services on both station and mobile nodes, the overall quality of the ecosystem can be consistently maintained.","PeriodicalId":231641,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE 8th International Conference on e-Business Engineering","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125647574","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In iWeb, a context model is established and context information is collected systematically according to the context model. An innovative service selection approach based on context and QoS is proposed in the framework as the leverage of implementation of application adaption. This approach can select the best services respect to QoS and context. For the usability of iWeb, thousands of available web services are collected and grouped by functionality in order to make service selection practicable. By providing development tools, service-oriented web application can be developed easily, and can fulfill its functionality using the selected services. Collaborative Filtering (CF), which utilizes similar neighbors to generate recommendations, is believed to be the most widely implemented and most mature technique for recommender systems. However, the recommendation results are often unsatisfactory due to the data sparsity of the input ratings matrix. Consequently, a hybrid recommender system which combines social network, trust network, and improved CF is proposed to enhance the accuracy of recommendation and overcome the weakness of data sparsity. Another advantage of the system is that utilizing the community structure discovered in social network as a new trust network sharply reduces the computation required for traditional CF. An empirical evaluation on Epinions.com dataset shows that the hybrid recommender system which incorporates social network and trust network into improved CF is more effective in terms of accuracy. This is especially evident on users who provided few ratings.","PeriodicalId":231641,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE 8th International Conference on e-Business Engineering","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116313072","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, manually constructing sentiment lexicons is very time-consuming and it may not be feasible for certain application domains where annotation expertise is not available. One contribution of this paper is the development of a statistical learning based computational method for the automatic construction of domain-specific sentiment lexicons to enhance cross-domain sentiment analysis. Our initial experiments show that the proposed methodology can automatically generate domain-specific sentiment lexicons which contribute to improve the effectiveness of opinion retrieval at the document level. Another contribution of our work is that we show the feasibility of applying the sentiment metric derived based on the automatically constructed sentiment lexicons to predict product sales of certain product categories.
