Currently, such solutions are usually very costly for customer to consume, as the deployment cost is high due to high performance hardware requirement and complex software configuration. Moreover, such on-premises solutions are not suitable for the occasional analytics consumers. On the other hand, Analytical solutions are also hard for solution providers to deliver cost efficient service, since the cost is high in initial customer engagement as well as conducting incremental service. To deliver analytical solutions in a cost-effective way, we propose the idea of \"analytical cloud\", which is designed to provide on-demand decision support, analytical capabilities, and computational resources in a manageable cloud environment. In this paper, we summarize the potential business models supported by this new delivery model and identify the technical issues required to be addressed in such business models.","PeriodicalId":231641,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE 8th International Conference on e-Business Engineering","volume":"25 111","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120857513","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This market environment has forced enterprises to improve supply chain technology in order to respond to customers' orders more promptly. Based on the comparison of similarities between supply chain collaboration management and multi-Agent system, this paper proposes that supply chain coordination management could be achieved through multi-Agent system. Through constructing a multi-Agent based supply chain collaboration model, this paper studies orders' delivery time issue from overall production process and logistics process on the supply chain at the enterprise level, provides suggestions for enterprises to make attractive delivery time/price combination and make on time delivery.","PeriodicalId":231641,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE 8th International Conference on e-Business Engineering","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117141652","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper describes our research in designing & building a cost-effective, secure, customizable, scalable and non-intrusive multi-tenant database which greatly accelerates the migration and development of SaaS applications. We analyze the requirements and gaps in traditional database when supporting SaaS scenario, and then propose a novel nonintrusive multi-tenant database framework to address these challenges. Some key considerations and different implementation approaches in designing and implementation such a framework are discussed and compared. This paper also identifies some potential database performance optimization approaches in the multi-tenant scenario.","PeriodicalId":231641,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE 8th International Conference on e-Business Engineering","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129459869","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This impact in business domain could be measured in terms of not achieving the desired outcomes and loss of investment. On the basis of this measurement, a decision has to be made by the service requester on the continuation of that service or re-composing it. In the literature, approaches have been proposed that allow for service re-composition in Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) but in Cloud Computing techniques are needed that analyze the chances and affect of Service Degradability and assist in making informed service management decision. Such analysis is achieved by the assessment of transactional risk. In this paper we propose a methodology that analyses the transactional risk and proposes assessments that can be utilized to make informed decisions.","PeriodicalId":231641,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE 8th International Conference on e-Business Engineering","volume":"13 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126140604","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper will focus specifically around cloud deployment and data storage, in particular relation to privacy concerns due to multi-tenancy. The reason for this lies with the identification of Software as a Service (SaaS) as the most likely adopted service model, particularly for those who are teleworking, as this relies on the service provider adopting a multi-tenancy environment within the data centre. The paper takes the perspective that, for both legal reasons and as part of shared obligation, it is necessary for users to recognise the need for common standards of policy and procedure. For example, this may be in levels of protection to prevent data protection and privacy laws being compromised. Both cloud service providers and legislative bodies need to acknowledge the impact that multi-tenancy can have on user privacy and act accordingly in regulatory steps and in encouraging a culture of adhering to common user standards. Such matters must be addressed at the earliest levels of growth in user demand to be optimally effective, especially when scalability is a fundamental driver for the adoption of cloud computing.","PeriodicalId":231641,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE 8th International Conference on e-Business Engineering","volume":"108 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121944312","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The RFIDIWMS helps to achieve better inventory control, as well as to improve operation efficiency. To this purpose, it automates the manual warehouse operation and provides tight integration with current warehouse management system (WMS). In this system, RFID tags are embedded in the pallets and shelves. In addition, forklifts are equipped with intelligent terminal as well as RFID reader and antenna to support automatic data scanning and storage location checking. Moreover, a middle layer software component is design to facilitate the communication between WMS, portable terminals and forklift terminals through wireless LAN. Besides, it also supports additional powerful functions such as forklift scheduling, picking sequence management and 3D shelves monitoring. The design of the system makes full use of the existing equipments and facilities and has the feature of low cost and quick inaction. Through real working practice in the distribution center of Bailian Group, the system is proved to be feasible in the aspects of both technology and cost.","PeriodicalId":231641,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE 8th International Conference on e-Business Engineering","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132769401","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A customer can select the optimal services to compose a value-added composite service based on services' reputation. However, a composite service obtains only one score (or feedback) after every invocation. In order to compute the reputation of every component service, it is necessary for the composite service to distribute this score to its component services. How to achieve a fair distribution is a challenging issue, as each component service may perform differently in contributing to the success or failure of the composite service. Although several efforts have been made for this problem, they do not consider the structure information of composition, which makes the distribution unfair. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a fair score distribution framework which combines the structure-related importance of component services and their runtime performance. Experimental results show that our approach can achieve a more reasonable and fair score distribution than existing methods.","PeriodicalId":231641,"journal":{"name":"2011 IEEE 8th International Conference on e-Business Engineering","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132624128","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
