One of the objectives of the procurement of government goods and services is to increase the participation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. At least there are three government policies related to efforts to encourage the achievement of these objectives in the form of; provide opportunities for Micro, Small Business and Medium Enterprises, use information and communication technology and electronic transactions, and develop three Goods / Services Procurement E-marketplaces in the form of electronic catalogs, online stores, and Electronical tendering. Qualitative research is carried out using the applied law research approach. Secondary data analysis is carried out through a literature study of the mandatory policies and theories related to Emarket place for procurement of government goods, small business development, and innovation. The results showed that MSMEs could use Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat analysis to increase their role in E-marketplace procurement of government goods and services. There are 2 (two) strategies, namely strategies to improve MSME weaknesses in the form of strengthening business legality and innovating through information technology and strategic strategies for cooperation or partnerships between MSMEs and business associations, online stores that are already in PBJP's e-marketplace, with LKPP and Communication and Information Service to be able to innovate in the Emarketplace, and with the Office of Cooperatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the City / Regency / Province especially to be able to foster and facilitate the strengthening of HR and MSME governance. Wood and articles of wood are the only forest product commodities that are included in the ten export commodities with the largest share of the forest product in 2017, reaching 34%. Plywood provides the largest share of wood and articles of wood, with 42% in 2017. Since 2005, Indonesia is no longer a major exporter of world plywood, and the export volume tends to decline until 2017. This study aims to analyze the exports and competitiveness of Indonesian plywood to three major trading partners (Japan, South Korea, and the United States) over the period 2000 to 2017. The method used is the Common Effect Panel Model with cross-section weighted. Based on the results, it can be concluded that REER, RCA, and trade openness affect the Indonesian plywood export significantly. The policy recommendation is to enhance partnerships between exporters and timber farmers (especially those with limited capital) to increase production. As well as increasingly tightening the Timber Verification and Legality System (SVLK) so that importers do not doubt the quality of Indonesian plywood.","PeriodicalId":229902,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on Trade 2019 (ICOT 2019)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117250511","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Theoretically, the export destination influences country’s export sophistication. One of the main mechanisms by which exports to developed countries can have a positive impact on production and export sophistication is skills upgrading. This paper aims to examine the effect of exports to developed countries on the export sophistication of ASEAN countries and relatively shows Indonesia’s position towards other ASEAN countries in terms of export sophistication. The method we used is fixed effect panel data model by using the UNCTAD’s index of comparative diversification vis-a-vis developed countries as dependent variable, which measures the similarity of exports with developed countries’ exports. Empirical results show that higher share of exports to developed countries are significantly associated with higher export sophistication, but there are diminishing returns to this effect. The results also show that the Indonesia’s export sophistication is relatively low compared to some other ASEAN countries, which is still below Malaysia and Thailand. This paper suggests that the Indonesian government needs to encourage Indonesian industries to target developed countries in order to enhance their productivity and product quality that lead to capability in exporting to the developed countries, which in turn will increase Indonesia’s exports in general.","PeriodicalId":229902,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on Trade 2019 (ICOT 2019)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123709109","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research uses gravity model analysis and spatial autocorrelation analysis. The data used are panel data for the 2007-2017 period in 23 countries for frozen shrimp and 6 countries for fresh shrimp. The empirical findings from this study indicate that competitiveness, logistical performance, population, and exchange rates have a significant positive effect on frozen shrimp exports, while fresh shrimp exports are significantly affected by economic distance, population, rates, exchange rates, and FTAs. The moran's I index results in exports of frozen shrimp and fresh shrimp indicate a negative spatial autocorrelation. GVC provide both opportunities and threats for host countries. One side, GVC are the window of opportunities for local companies to catch up with the global leaders. On the other hand, GVC could provide only limited impact on host country economic development by only seeking and exploiting the location advantages of host country. This paper aims to elaborate some common upgrading challenges faced by local companies when they insert in GVC. Four main upgrading challenges are identified, namely: limited value capture, inefficiency, Neoliberal regime, and bad policies and institutions. A countrylevel and a firm-level case study research are employed as the illustration how these challenges inhibit a country and its leading and potential local company to grow and upgrade its position in GVC. Indonesia and Astra International and its automotive subsidiaries (Astra) are chosen as the case study. Astra is an interesting case for number of reasons. First, Astra is originally from Indonesia. The company was established by Indonesians and locates most of all their businesses and value chain activities in Indonesia. Secondly, Astra is one of the largest Indonesian companies, which has about 200 subsidiaries and employs over 200,000 workers. Thirdly, Astra gives very rich insights for other Indonesian local companies and government how to grow, manage and support businesses in the age of GVC. Several implications for managerial strategy and policy recommendation are also discussed. The analysis is conducted by using mixed methods and triangulation from various previous literature, data sources, interviews, news, and company’s historical archives. In focusing on determining the right policy, it certainly requires an indicator that is able to answer the needs of my policy. The need that the Indonesian government usually wants is spatial mapping, given that Indonesia has a high heterogeneous level. In entering the era of industrial revolution, the role of technology is certainly undeniable, thus it is necessary to have indicators to illustrate how ready Indonesia is to navigate the waves of technology. The strategy that can be combined with technological progress is the diversity of Indonesia itself. With the optimization of specialization and regional comparative advantage can trigger synergies that can be used as a basis in competing in the international trade market. Therefore, there needs to be an analysis of the effects of technology combined with specialization as the proxy for regional comparative advantage of Indonesia. This can help in analyzing productivity or even other trading problems. Guided by the establishment of a competitiveness index and by utilizing spatial panel data modeling, this study is able to map the direct and indirect effects of these variables on an area. On the other hand, it can be seen how indicators improve competitiveness and not just trading volume. The research was done using qualitative method with secondary data obtained from literature studies. The data is then analysed using qualitative descriptive techniques through three stages of analysis, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that in order to become a technosociopreneur, Halal Travel Agency must develop expertise and application in technology and improve its social orientation based on the role of the human resources, as well as integrate all parties involved in forming a halal tourism system. The technology that must be mastered and applied primarily is technology to help customers to access information easier, make choices on tourist destinations and packages, and make reservations. The social orientation that must be improved is mainly in terms of efforts to promote domestic halal tourist destinations which subsequently increases the socio-economic impact of the wider community. In addition, through field data collection and testing of the determinants of technosociopreneur in influencing the socio-economic conditions of the Indonesian people it is known that partially the technology, HR and tourism promotion variables significantly influence the socio-economic community, and it appears that tourism promotion variables have a dominant influence on social economy compared to other independent variables.","PeriodicalId":229902,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on Trade 2019 (ICOT 2019)","volume":"141 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124548380","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, e-commerce can shift the demand for labor through the reduction of conventional or retail employment and increase the demand for labor in the fields of Information, Communication, Technology, and knowledge (ICTD) which has the potential to increase unemployment. However, there has been no empirical research that discussed the impact of e-commerce on the shifting demand for labor in Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to find out the description and the factors that influence the demand for ICTD and conventional labor in Indonesia year 2015 - 2017. The statistical method used is panel data regression. This study proves that shifts in labor demand have occurred in Indonesia. E-commerce has a positive and significant effect on the demand for ICTD labor and negative and significant effect on the demand for conventional labor. East Asia has led the world in aggressively utilizing the second unbundling, or the mechanics of international production networks centered by machinery industries. Yet there is still ample room for expanding and deepening the involvement in such a pattern of international division of labor. At the same time, a wave of digital technology has arrived in East Asia, and the application of new information and communication technology (ICT) and the third unbundling have become important policy agenda items. This paper concisely presents the conceptual framework of “unbundling,” particularly the second and the third, and discusses a number of issues on empirical studies and policy discussion over development strategies and required sets of policies.","PeriodicalId":229902,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on Trade 2019 (ICOT 2019)","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121136181","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
