In this article, we use a variety of studies to analyse how the pandemic has affected the use and perception of public open space. We find that people's attitudes towards public open spaces changed during the pandemic towards a more positive appreciation and awareness of their importance for mental and physical health, community building and belonging to the city. In this context, we introduce the concept of public pedagogy, which helps us to think about the connection between the city, its inhabitants and learning. Through an analysis of the pedagogy of the unknowable, we show how different events, performances, installations, architecture, and space itself are important in opening transitional spaces that enable learning, identity development, and entering into relationships with others. Here we analyse the role of the public educator in public open space. We argue that the role of the public educator is to foster publicness and open spaces where freedom is possible.","PeriodicalId":229688,"journal":{"name":"Andragoske studije","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114704745","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, a coherent and unified professional identity can be determined by referring to adult learning professionals' specific roles and sub-fields. Hence, how adult learning facilitators, who belong to a non-formal sub-field, conceptualize themselves as professionals may be an example of coherent, yet unified, professional identity. Moreover, it is essential to know how adult learning facilitators understand themselves as professionals because this knowledge provides a framework for facilitators to construct their own ideas of being professional. Thus, this research aims to bring insights to the questions of how adult learning facilitators became professionals, how they define their profession, how they determine themselves as professionals and how they perceive their future in the professional context. Thirty-five adult learning facilitators were interviewed using semi-structured interviews with biographical perspectives. Results revealed that adult learning facilitators seem to have a conflicted identity resulting from a gap between ideal and real. Concerns about current qualification and competences were also articulated. Findings implied that professional development programmes for adult learning facilitators need to pay close attention to identity formation, concerns about appropriate qualifications, and adequate support for professionalism through systematic policy-making.","PeriodicalId":229688,"journal":{"name":"Andragoske studije","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128919659","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

What is the added value of humans in a technological world? Many studies highlight the relevance of creativity and an entrepreneurial mindset for an individual to be able to seize opportunities and generate new ideas and values for the society, community , and economy. The main aim of this article is to illustrate the policies and programs of entrepreneurship education in Italy, South Korea and India. Starting from a review of definitions and based on the comparative method, our findings indicate that entrepreneurship education is emerging as an educational concept that could support students' growth to face new challenges today and in the future.","PeriodicalId":229688,"journal":{"name":"Andragoske studije","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125466224","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Criminal recidivism rate in Serbia ranges from 50% to 70%, which implies that the proclaimed goal of custodial sentences is seldom achieved. Therefore, the criticism of the concept of custodial sentences seems justifiable. Predominantly based on segregation and isolation, custodial sentences do not contribute to the reduction of recidivism if no adequate treatment programmes are implemented throughout their duration. One of the forms of treatment is directed towards the education of inmates. The dispersion of educational needs of inmates and the results of research on the effectiveness of prison educational programmes in the reduction of recidivism justify the investment into such programmes. The education of inmates and the improvement of competences contribute to the reduction of recidivism by means of successful employment. Besides improving competences, such a category of employment minimizes the frequency of negative opinions that potential employers may hold about former inmates.","PeriodicalId":229688,"journal":{"name":"Andragoske studije","volume":"267 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122180237","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to its complexity, the fulfilment of the professional role of the pedagogue requires the development of numerous and distinct competencies. Pedagogical studies are among the most important factors for their development. This paper comprises a presentation and analysis of the results of a research aimed to study pedagogues' assessments on the contribution of pedagogical studies to the development of competencies required for professional activities. The research sample included 152 pedagogues employed at various pedagogical and educational institutions in the Republic of Serbia. The results of the research indicate that pedagogues estimate that pedagogical study programs are directed towards a balanced development of many different competencies, but that not all of them are of equal importance for professional activities. Moreover, the results of the research highlight the statistically significant differences among pedagogues in terms of the preferred importance of specific competencies for professional activities and the assessment of their development throughout studies, taking into account their years of experience and workplace. The results of the research may be used as a starting point for the further development of pedagogical study programs.","PeriodicalId":229688,"journal":{"name":"Andragoske studije","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114789958","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We see transformative learning as a key part of lifelong learning of older people because it does not only increase knowledge but also increases awareness of oneself and the local community. Transformative learning, however, may be seen as a way to help adults make sense of their experiences and make meaning of. In the article we will introduce theories of transformative learning, situated learning and biographical learning. Furthermore, we will think about the concept of ageing in place and examine the concept of inclusion of older people into society. The empirical part of the project explores the process of learning and education of older people through their active involvement into a project group of the international project Personal Town Tours. We found that participation in the project's activities and research of the city of Ljubljana are an incentive for transformative learning through place attachment.","PeriodicalId":229688,"journal":{"name":"Andragoske studije","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114549023","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

While other adult educators transcend the local, recognizing it is a common pattern experienced more widely, even globally. In this paper we argue for making connections between the local and the global as adult learners pursue issues and conditions that are their own, but also experienced in other countries Such connections have become increasingly apparent, as educators recognize that many of the topics that adult learners pursue are greatly influenced by economic, political, health, migration, and opportunity conditions in their own and other countries.","PeriodicalId":229688,"journal":{"name":"Andragoske studije","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129319098","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper aims to identify higher education teachers' learning experiences that helped them to adjust a new situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. We collected stories from nine teachers employed in higher education in Ghana, India, and Serbia. Inductive thematic analysis was employed to identify themes within the stories collected. The common topics were identified in each country and compared with that of others. Silence to active classroom transformation is a common topic among teachers in each country. Other similarities were identified as fear that put more pressure on teachers and students. Differences among the teachers' learning and teaching experiences in researched countries were more of inequality issues related to access to necessary resources for online learning. Conclusively, teaching in online education during the crisis requires constant and multi-directional learning processes and understanding of students' resistance and negative emotions.","PeriodicalId":229688,"journal":{"name":"Andragoske studije","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124831096","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The interaction between students and educational content is important since it enables students actualize their role as creators of online educational content. For the purpose of understanding students' contribution in the context of creating online educational content, a qualitative research with students of the 2nd and the 4th year of basic andragogy studies was conducted at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade within the Online Adult Education course implemented through the Moodle LMS. The paper describes one teaching unit as an example of good practice of positioning students at the very center of the online educational process. Research results confirm that by interacting with educational content students significantly contribute to the modification and production of new educational content. Important andragogical moments that transform virtual worlds into virtual educational environments were identified as a result of this interaction.","PeriodicalId":229688,"journal":{"name":"Andragoske studije","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126142669","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Theoretically, our discussion draws on classical profession theory, organisation theory, and the \"new professionalism\" discourse; empirically, we perform a comparative analysis between two countries and discuss similarities and differences in terms of state-society contexts, professional organisations, and professionalisation organisations. Our findings indicate that professional and professionalisation organisations represent main institutionalised contexts where the professionalisation of ACE is negotiated. In Slovenia, this is supported by strong state-society contexts, whereas in Germany, traditional regional and institutional diversity is achieved at the price of a unified AE occupational profile.","PeriodicalId":229688,"journal":{"name":"Andragoske studije","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132421350","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
