Design/Methodology/Approach:The research was conducted using a mixed approach of qualitative and quantitative methods with concurrent or simultaneous designs. In this method, researchers combine quantitative and qualitative data at a time and then integrate information into the interpretation of results to provide a comprehensive analysis of research at the PT. ABC. Findings: The results of this study show that the calculation of the NPV of the construction of ABC street toll roads yields a value > 0, thus the development of this toll road infrastructure is worthy of a net present value (NPV). The Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of the construction of ABC street toll roads is 10% > the Social Discount Rate (SDR), thus building the ABC road toll is worthy, which in this study uses a discount rate of 9%. The value of the benefit-cost ratio (BCR) of the construction of this toll road is > 1, so the construction is worthwhile. Practicalimplications:Government support in the use of public funds for the development of marginal toll roads is needed so that the viability of an investment can be preserved, which will encourage further involvement of investors in the infrastructure development of roads, especially toll roads, in Indonesia, eventually becoming an accelerator of economic and regional growth. Authenticity/Value: The association is committed to creating a sense of safety, comfort, and smoothness for road users by making efforts to comply with the Minimum Service Standards (SPM) continuously established by the Government in this regard through the Directorate of JBH-DJBM Ministry of PUPR, as well as striving to meet the level of customer satisfaction through surveys carried out on a regular basis, inter alia by adding guidance lamps, building weighing bridges, improving rest area facilities, and traffic management activities in conjunction with the police and other relevant parties.","PeriodicalId":228982,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Bio Innovation","volume":"81 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141835545","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It aims at making health care safer for both clients and staff (Kohn, Corrigan, & Donaldson, 2000). It is “A framework of organized activities that createcultures, processes, procedures, behaviours, technologies and environments in health care that consistently and sustainably lower risks, reduce the occurrence of avoidable harm, make errors less likely and reduce the impact of harm when it does occur.” (WHO, 2021). Quality of care is “the degree to which health services for individuals and populations increase the likelihood of desired health outcomes and are consistent with current professional knowledge” (IOM, 1990 and ahrq.gov., 2016). Healthcare quality is a level or value provided by any healthcare resource, as determined by some measurement (Maxwell, 1984).As with quality in other fields, it is an assessment of whether something is good enough and whether it is suitable for its purpose. Other definitions of healthcare quality include: “the degree of conformity with accepted principles and practices (standards), the degree of satisfying the patient’s needs, and the degree of attainment of acceptable outcomes, while making appropriate use of resources.” The Joint Commission defines care quality as “the optimal achievement of therapeutic benefit and avoidance of risk and minimization of harm”. Care quality is also referred to as freedom from deficiencies and therefore less costly because deficiencies which often lead to customer dissatisfaction require additional costs to manage them. Quality care conforms to relevant requirements or standards - the needs and expectations of clients or patients.","PeriodicalId":228982,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Bio Innovation","volume":"113 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141835318","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This condition reflects the lack of the normal number of erythrocytes in the body's circulation and consequently the amount of oxygen delivered to the body's tissues is also reduced. Miller & Thompson (2019) scoliosis comes from the Greek word \"scoliosis\" which means crooked. Scoliosis is a complex three-dimensional deformity of the spine characterized by a lateral deviation of at least 10 degrees with spinal rotation and is usually associated with a reduction in the normal kyphotic curvature of the spine / hypokyphosis. The cause of bleeding in spinal surgery usually occurs more in cases of rigid scoliosis, pedicle subtraction osteotomy and vertebral column resection often referred to as triple column osteotomy and is considered a procedure with a high risk of complications with massive blood loss, reaching more than 10 liters (Jun. 2019). Based on its classification, this type of research is retrospective descriptive research. studies that discuss one or more variables separately, one-by-one, but do not examine the relationship between these variables, using the observation method with the subject being observed by looking at past conditions (Harlan &Sutjiati, 2022). Using total sampling technique in sampling, the population is the medical records of patients admitted to the ICU, postoperative diagnosis of scoliosis with anemia, the sample size is 58 patient medical records. The variables observed were: indications for ICU admission and postoperative scoliosis, the inclusion criteria were medical record data for postoperative scoliosis patients with anemia admitted to the ICU for the period January 1 - December 31, 2022 and patients with the first scoliosis surgery. Based on this study, the following results were obtained: Most respondents were female (81%), the average age of respondents was 17 years. The most common type of scoliosis is adolescence idiopathic scoliosis (89.7%). The most Lenke classification is Lenke 3 (44.8%), the most types of surgery are stabilization, fusion, discectomy, laminectomy and osteotomy (56.9%). The duration of surgery was mostly 180-240 minutes (46.6%) with an average duration of surgery of 257 minutes, the average amount of bleeding was 884.5 ml, the average preoperative Hb was 13.3g/dL, the average postoperative Hb was 8.8 g/dL. The average postoperative Hemoglobin decrease was 5.3 g/dL, patients who were given blood transfusions (87.9%) with an average of 2.9 bags per patient, the most common type of transfused blood was PRC (90.2%).","PeriodicalId":228982,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Bio Innovation","volume":"65 s300","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141835163","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Decreased level of plasma HDL-cholesterol, independently can cause CAD. Recent research studies have proved that walnuts can increase plasma HDL-cholesterol if taken in specific amount per day regularly. Research study was conducted at Lahore General Hospital, Lahore from January 2023 to April 2023. Forty hyperlipidemic patients were selected from Lahore General Hospital for the study. Age of patients ranged from 20 to 65 years. Both gender male and female patients were enrolled. They were advised to discontinue any hypolipidemic medications and foods. Patients suffering from any metabolic disease, renal impairment, liver disease, and already having any cardiac problems were excluded from the research study. Forty patients were divided in two groups, twenty individuals in each group. Group-1 was advised to take 30 grams of walnuts (without shell) per day for the period of eight weeks. Group-II was considered as control group and was advised not to take any dry fruit including walnuts. Their baseline values of HDL-cholesterol were measured at day-0 and day-60, by separating other lipoprotein fractions using chemical precipitation with Mg2+, then coupling the products of a cholesterol oxidase reaction. In twenty hyperlipidemic patients, two months therapy with 30 grams of walnuts per day increase in HDL-cholesterol was 6.3 mg/dl which was significant change when analyzed biostatistically, showing p-value <0.01. Statistical analysis: Mean values with SD and SEM were analysed statistically by using SPSS version 16.1. P-value of <0.001 was considred as significant and p-value of >0.05 was considered as non-significant change. Conclusion: It was concluded from the study that regular intake of specific amount of walnuts without shell can increase good cholesterol (HDL-cholesterol) in male and female patients of age range from 18 to 65 years.","PeriodicalId":228982,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Bio Innovation","volume":"61 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141835353","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are three important steps in lipid peroxidation, namely initiation, propagation and termination. Formation of reactive aldehydes such as MDA and 4-HNE takes place when there is a catabolism of lipid hydroperoxides. Hyperlipidemia especially LDL-cholesterol may lead to development of coronary artery disease causing morbidity or mortality due to cardiac arrhythmias. Conventional hypolipidemic drugs have unwanted effects. Herbal therapy for Hyperlipidemia is getting attention due to their less frequent side effects. In this study we have compared hypolipidemic effects of Gemfibrozil with Nigella sativa. Seventy five hyperlipidemic patients from Jinnah Hospital Lahore were enrolled for study. After getting consent all patients were divided in three groups comprising 25 patients in each group. Group 1 was on Nigella sativa, group 2 was on Gemfibrozil and third group was on placebo therapy. They were advised to take drugs for two months. After completion of study pretreatment and post treatment values of LDL cholesterol were analyzed statistically. In Nigella sativa group LDL cholesterol decreased from 191.14±3.45 to 159.40±2.98 mg/dl, means 31.7 mg/dl LDL reduction was observed when compared with placebo group. In Gemfibrozil group of patients LDL cholesterol decreased from 197.77±3.91 mg/dl to 159.62±2.20 mg/dl, means LDL reduction in mean values was 38.2 mg/dl, when compared with placebo group. These changes are highly significant with p-values of <0.001. We concluded from this study that alternative therapy by herbal medication is as effective as by allopathic medication.
