It is caused due to Kapha , Vata and Rakta Dhatu involving Rasavaha and Raktavaha Srotas. Acne vulgaris is a disease of the pilosebaceous follicle characterized by non-inflammatory (open and closed comedowns) and inflammatory lesions (papules, pustules, and nodules) .There are four major factors involved in the disease production viz. increased sebum production ,cornification of pilosebaceous ducts , microbial involvement and inflammation .This condition is found commonly in puberty.Acharya Susruta has discussed mukhdooshika (yavanapidika) in the context of Kshudra rogas. Here in this case treatment modalities were applied ,internally Manjisthadi khada as Raktha dhatu shodhaka and Gandhara malahara for healing of the pidika is administered.

DSC3 expression has prognostic value in some cancers. Using cBioportal and Kaplan– Meier plotter DSC3 gene was evaluated in 12 cancers using TCGA data and compared with Hallmark gene expression. Cancers were grouped to have low (Group I), intermediate (Group II) and high (Group III) DSC3 expression. Higher DSC3 expression in group III is associated with better survival and in group I with poor survival. DSC3 expression correlated with desmosomal genes DSG3, DSC1, DSG1, PKP1 in spite of its known reciprocal relationship with DSC1, DSG1 and PKP1 under physiological conditions. Of 10 Hallmarks evaluated, three hallmarks had no correlation with DSC3. Activating invasion and metastasis (AIM) (genes SERPINB5, PERP, SNAI2) and Evading Growth Suppressors (EGS) (gene TP63) were the key hallmarks associated with DSC3 expression. Gene expression correlation with DSC3 across various hallmark genes reveals no correlation in group I cancers. Our finding demonstrate that higher DSC3 expression level may be useful for prognostication and needs further evaluation. The finding of this analysis also suggests critical role of TP63 in DSC3 expressing cancers and potentially a different biological process unique to DSC3 expressing cancers.

A 44-year-old woman sought our clinic six years ago with the complaint of pain and swelling in the legs upon waking that aggravated throughout the course of the day. The physical exam revealed edema in the legs and obesity, with a body mass index (BMI) of 50.6 kg/m2. Bioelectrical impedance analysis was performed and revealed an increase in total intracellular and extracellular water beyond the range of normality. Over a six-year period, the patient lost 12 kilograms and her BMI was lowered, but the pattern of intracellular and extracellular water remained the same. Obesity is associated with an increase in body water characterizing subclinical systemic lymphedema, which is maintained over the years. A reduction in weight may lead to a reduction in the volume of liquids.

It is extensively used as a mydriatic agent by ophthalmologists and may cause allergic contact reactions even though it is rare. Here is a case of 46 years old female patient with acute-onset edema and erythema of both eyes associated with watering, a burning sensation, and moderate discomfort characterized by contact dermatitis. The patient develops adverse drug reaction to an eye drop containing Tropicamide 0.8%w/v + Phenylephrine 5%w/v used prior to eye fundus examination. Although uncommon, cases of allergic reaction to Phenylephrine cannot be ruled out, hence it is advisable to all the clinicians/Ophthalmologist to encourage and conduct the sensitivity test for Phenylephrine allergy, in order to minimize the possible adverse effects and ruinous consequences.

The students first checked their own pulse rate individually then we performed a survey in which every student was asked about their pulse rate and then a questioner was asked to each student individually that whether they like fish as a pet or not. Different students with their different pulse rates have different likeness in fish as a pet. Some students like fish as a pet while some do not like fish as a pet. So in this way we took out an average that how many students with which pulse rate like fish as a pet and how many students with which pulse rate do not like fish. The results will be discussed below.

We describe the case of a young patient, who at 23 years old had the first episode of peripheral facial paralysis on the right. At the time, it was conducted in a protocol manner, with prednisone, paracetamol and eye care, as well as pertinent physiotherapy. There was an improvement in facial asymmetry, when in 2006 she presented a new peripheral facial paralysis, this time on the left, which was conducted in a similar way. Then, she presented 2 more episodes of facial paralysis in the interval of 3 years, already with aesthetic sequelae. In 2009, in the 5th episode of paralysis, she associated facial edema and cheilitis, when biopsy of the upper eyelid was requested, which was unspecific. In 2012, after the 8th facial paralysis, she underwent a new biopsy, in which an inflammatory infiltrate was demonstrated, consistent with clinical suspicion of SMR. Imaging exams (skull resonance and angioresonance), face electroneuromyography for prognosis, and CSF study, without abnormalities, were performed. That year she began to experience involuntary and rhythmic contractions of the orbicularis musculature of the eyes and mouth on the right, in addition to risory and platysma, featuring facial hemispasm, treated every 4 to 6 months with 100 IU Onabotulinum. Throughout the treatment period, alternating use of 10mg prednisone with deflazacort 6mg, and in 2019, due to persistent headache, she underwent a new resonance with arterial and venous cranial angioresonance, which brought elements suggestive of Intracranial Hypertension (IH). Currently, the patient is undergoing surgical programming for facial nerve decompression bilaterally and undergoing treatment for IH.

It has poses significant challenge to the clinicians and clinical microbiologists alike. Therefore its accurate diagnosis, isolation and identification of causative agents with appropriate antibiotics is required. This study is aimed to find out resistance pattern, e.g. extended-spectrum-beta-lactamase (ESBL), AmpC, K1, carbapenemase and metallo-β-lactamase (MBL) among isolates obtained from BSI.\u0000Methods\u0000\u0000A cross-sectional study was conducted in the Department of Microbiology, BPKIHS from 1st September 2014 to 31st August 2015. Isolates were screened for ESBL, AmpC, K1, and carbapenemase production by ten disk method. Confirmation for ESBL was done phenotypically by using combined disk method recommended by CLSI, AmpC sterile disk method for AmpC and K1 by combined disk method. Metallo-beta-lactamase (MBL) production was detected by imipenem-ethylene-diamine-tetra acetic acid double disk synergy test.\u0000Results\u0000\u0000A total of 11,264 blood samples were collected from the patients suspected of Blood Stream Infection. Of these isolates, 192 (1.70%) were Enterobacteriaceae. Among them, 94 (49%) were ESBL, 51 (26.5%) were carbapenemase and 10 (5%) were AmpC producers. Of 51 carbapenemase producers, 22 (11.5%) were MBL producers. None of the isolates were found to produce K1 β-lactamase. A total of 64 (33.4%) isolates were MDR.\u0000Conclusion\u0000\u0000MDR Enterobacteriaceae is found to be prevalent in our set up as important cause of BSI.
