(2016) it is not always easy to determine the exact date of birth of every generation as the transitions have been found to be difficult to pinpoint. (9). According to Seemiller and Grace (2015), the representatives of generation Z were born between 1995 to 2010 and have already entered higher education. Reading online has become one of the most widely used sources of knowledge for learners, especially in the academic contexts (Zarrabi, 2015), thus it is not surprising that for generation Z visual media may as well have the most substantial impact whereas internet and smart devices are the main means of communication making it possible for every question to be answered immediately. Teachers nowadays are faced with a somewhat challenging task to meet the information obtaining needs and preferences of the new generation while belonging to the previous generation themselves. In order to cast light into the process of choosing the most suitable methods and materials as well as the devices for the learners of Generation Z, a research was started in Tallinn Health Care College, with an aim to investigate different generations´ text searching and reading strategies. Current article focuses on describing the preferred medium of text among the representatives of Generation Z. An online semi-structured questionnaire was conducted descriptive analysis conducted. The results direct authors toward further research to investigate the strategies of working with texts keeping in mind the characteristics of Generation Z in order to use the mediums and strategies to create effective learning possibilities in higher education.","PeriodicalId":228883,"journal":{"name":"EPH - International Journal of Educational Research","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130078196","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, we must ensure that online learning remains of quality and provides optimal results. One of the things that influence the quality of education is student engagement, to determine the effect of management support variables and online learning design variables on learner engagement within the scope of the company are the objectives of this research. The statistical test methods performed were statistical tests of validity, reliability, discriminant validity and testing the effect of factors using Smart PLS 3.2.9 software. Evaluation data obtained through a questionnaire distributed to respondents of PT. Pupuk Kaltim who has participated in e-learning learning. We accept both hypotheses. Awing society has moved from a patriarchal and hierarchical society to egalitarianism, from homogeneous society to heterogeneous one within the same indigenous set up. The patriarchal and hierarchical society in which the man takes initiative alone and controls production is now changing to one in which the woman has started taking initiative thus revolting against chauvinism and assuming her independence. This paper demonstrates though proverbs that there is a shift /move from the ideology of conservatism to that of egalitarianism in the Awing society as a result of the influence of contemporary issues. It also illustrates the role of the Awing female in social cohesion as spelt out in their proverbs. Proverbs are the wisdom of the ancestors and the best way of preserving language. So analysis of proverbs will show the present male hegemony and how women are revolting against it. The problem this paper raises is that there is a shift in ideology in Awing society. This will create confusion and destroy social cohesion. The moral value of proverbs will diminish in Awing community and people will become less interested in the use of proverbs, the excesses of the feminist movement is going to destabilise the Awing society. The African man has a role to play as well as the woman. If these roles are destabilised, there is no unity or social cohesion. Social cohesion takes place when each person plays his role. The fact that the feminist movement is attacking the traditional tenet of unity is dangerous and can never bring unity. About 90 proverbs are analysed using the (post) Marxist approach. Through these proverbs, the African thought in relation to the on-going struggle for women emancipation is expressed. These proverbs are collected from the Awing society and transcribed in the Awing language. The free translation method is used to bring out the English version with concentration on the context of the proverb and not on Grammar. It is comprehensive in scope as it covers various disciplines when it comes to our learning and communicating through language and actions. Thus, the primary task is to search the most appropriate and best material where discourse is as relevant and worthy of our time and attention. The criteria for selection is basic and important to form a conclusion which either promotes awareness or justifies our biases in a real world, that might cover or uncover some hard truths of the past, present or future. The story about the Season of Migration to the North depicts the journey of the man’s quest for freedom and achievement of dreams and goals. The realization, awareness and transformation are amazing. The main character in the story has succeeded where others have failed to realize he is at the losing end, fallen victim of his own doings. Yet he lives a legacy with which a reader could somehow relate oneself that might alert the reader from falling out of reality. By far, a good story material with lots of discourses rich for interpretation and analysis.","PeriodicalId":228883,"journal":{"name":"EPH - International Journal of Educational Research","volume":"117 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-03-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121514506","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hence, this study investigated the use of web tutorial sites as supplemental learning resources to enhance students’ performance. Findings showed that there were positive results in the post-test scores of both groups. Moreover, significant difference was evident favouring the treatment group. Fabrics in Ghana are not only chosen for their aesthetic outlook but rather have certain cultural and symbolic interpretations which are in line with their names. The younger generation might lose certain key components of the culture with regards to fabrics and their names. They therefore choose designs and wear without knowing their cultural interpretations and the kind of signals and messages they are sending across. These names and meanings are only known to few and therefore need some form of scholarly documentation. The study made use of qualitative research methodology. Purposive sampling technique was used to select the respondents for the study. Interviews were conducted and participant observations made at the various shops to gather data for the study. The study concluded that Ghanaian fabrics have unique names in relation to their composition and designs. Fabrics chosen based on the message the wearer want to send across, mood of the wearer or occasion and its significance are enormous. It is recommended that stakeholders in textile education and fashion should give prominence and attention to Ghanaian fabrics and the cultural and symbolic interpretations of their names.","PeriodicalId":228883,"journal":{"name":"EPH - International Journal of Educational Research","volume":"283 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132023839","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
