However, real images are usually obtained according to a series of procedures, which will bring noises or artifacts that result in poor image quality. To improve the image processing accuracy, noise reduction is crucial. Therefore, in this paper, we introduce the state-of-art method, block-matching and 3D filtering algorithm, into microarray image denoising. First, median filter and contrast enhancement method are added into image preprocessing to improve the image quality. Next, the threshold and Wiener contraction coefficient involved in initial and final estimation are improved according to image variance. Experiments on real images drawn from the SMD, GEO, BCM, DeRisi and SIB datasets indicating that the proposed method perform better compared to the Donoho threshold, generalized wavelet, adaptive thresholding, compressed sensing, non-local means methods. Quantitative analysis on 127 sub-grids also verifies the efficiency of our proposed method.","PeriodicalId":228760,"journal":{"name":"2018 13th International Conference on Computer Science & Education (ICCSE)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127045776","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There exist a few approaches, which mainly use the trust scores explicitly expressed by users and effectively improve accuracy of rating prediction. However, having users provide explicit trust scores of each other is often full of challenges. In this paper, we propose a novel method to incorporate both explicit and implicit trust in providing recommendations. First, we use one of Trust Metrics algorithms to compute and predict implicit trust scores between users based on their interactions. Then, we merge ratings of a user's explicitly and implicitly trusted neighbors to complement and represent the preferences of the user. Experimental results show that our method outperforms other counterparts both in terms of accuracy and coverage.","PeriodicalId":228760,"journal":{"name":"2018 13th International Conference on Computer Science & Education (ICCSE)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126610244","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The DNS is implemented as a hierarchical distributed cache system that stores the IP addresses of the FQDNs for a certain amount of time which is specified in time to live (TTL) value. The TTL value is a arbitrary value set by the authoritative name servers, aka service providers, and hence, the calculation of the TTL value is not defined in any literature the authors referred incurring that calculation of the TTL value is a mysterious part about the DNS service. To this end, this paper proposes a generalized method to calculate the TTL value of the DNS record using the performance of web server (i.e., authoritative name server) where an actual web request has to wait to until it is get served. This paper explains the proposed mathematical method of calculating the TTL values of DNS records and provides a detailed explanation of the used parameters with the reasons of selecting those parameters to calculate the TTL value.","PeriodicalId":228760,"journal":{"name":"2018 13th International Conference on Computer Science & Education (ICCSE)","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115530784","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to that reason the necessity of evaluating the web based e-Learning content is arising. The evaluation process is usually consisting of pedagogical evaluation and content evaluation because e-Learning course material is a combination of course's content as well as the way it is delivered. This research study mainly focused to automate the pedagogical evaluation component of web based e-Learning content. Inconsistency is the biggest challenge faced by pedagogical reviewers in current manual pedagogical evaluation process of web based e-Learning since different institutes used different set of checklists in order to pedagogically evaluate their web based e-Learning content. To address this issue a calibrated checklist which can be generally used in pedagogical evaluation process was developed. This calibrated checklist has devised based on the study of the existing checklists. Then create a questionnaire and conducted a survey with pedagogical experts to identify the most important review factors which considered in pedagogical evaluation process. From the analysis of the survey results, “Interaction and Activities” is the most important review factor. Interaction and Activities are designed to help instructors communicate and interact with learners and assess learner performance. This study focused on giving comparative clarification about factors considered under Interaction and Activities in manual pedagogical evaluation process of web based e-Learning. This would help to develop a supporting tool to measure the pedagogical effectiveness of Interaction and Activities main review factor and its sub review factors.","PeriodicalId":228760,"journal":{"name":"2018 13th International Conference on Computer Science & Education (ICCSE)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129834477","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
