The aim of this research is to analyze the model of communication carried out by district government officials to make people aware of how to deal with household waste. This research uses the interpretive qualitative method, in which data are selected by purposive sampling. Data collection techniques are Focus Group Discussion and observation. The results of this research show that through face-to-face communication and group communication district government officials, ranging from the head of the environment office, family planning cadres and family welfare movement (PKK) activator team, community leaders to the village head, had tried to perform their duties properly in making residents in two areas of family planning (KB) village aware about the impact of household waste. Persuasive communication is the model of communication where the source actively seeks to influence the recipient who is in a passive position. Due to differences in perceptions, the process of exchanging messages during the campaign was one-way, namely from the source to the recipient. The model of communication which is developed in the activity is a command system in which district government officials give a command to the residents of the family planning village where the participation of the people especially those who rent houses in the management of household waste is low.","PeriodicalId":228204,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Komunikasi Ikatan Sarjana Komunikasi Indonesia","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126647633","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To mitigate the plague, many countries have formulated a social distancing policy. The pandemic compels us to foster the use of technology to carry out daily activities. A very few articles explain how technology alters the way leaders communicate. Therefore, the objective of this research is to examine whether technology has an impact on leader communication patterns using Adaptive Leadership and Technological Determinism Theory. This research uses qualitative approach with literature review and interview as a means to collect and analyze data. Based on the current trend, there are some changes in leader communication patterns. Also, the author found that there is a gap in the adoption of technology between leaders and members of the organization. While leaders are prepared to change mindset and embrace digital practices, members are not well-prepared. They struggle to adjust to the new work environment and feel overworked and exhausted. To embrace the digital working environment, leaders need to solve the gap. We argue that the gap between the leaders and members can be addressed by enhancing or improving the way leaders and members interact. This is because to become a leader, one should engage in communication. We propose some principles about new ways of communication during the New Normal.","PeriodicalId":228204,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Komunikasi Ikatan Sarjana Komunikasi Indonesia","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128384287","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this study is to explain how the media today still often create content with profit priority. By using Vincent Mosco's political economy theory and case studies on local media with national networks, the author tries to unravel how the media performs its functions. As a result, even though the media has developed more advanced with the era of digital media, the media is still often used for political interests or other interests through the titles or news content they make. To anticipate this, the general public should equip themselves with the capabilities of media literacy and digital literacy, so that they cannot choose a media that is suitable for consumption in the era of industrial revolution 4.0 where the media has developed into digital domain.","PeriodicalId":228204,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Komunikasi Ikatan Sarjana Komunikasi Indonesia","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126937340","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, rapid response is difficult to implement due to structural constraints and organizational hierarchy. This research aims to reveal structural constraints to crisis communication management in the internal organization of the Transportation Ministry. Situational Crisis Communication Theory (SCCT) approaches offer a framework to understand management in general in responding to crisis situation. This research uses a qualitative method with case study approaches. The results of this research show that in the pre-crisis phase the organization serves as media for sections at the Transportation Ministry to interact in monitoring potential crisis. In the crisis and post-crisis response phases, the establishment of an Ad Hoc Crisis Communication Team (TKK) has changed the organization from being under stringent hierarchic structure to being more flexible and responsive in crisis response. This research gives contributions to more dynamic crisis communication management, recommends the formulation of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in crisis communication management, starting from pre-crisis, crisis to post-crisis response phases, and gives guidance to government and non-government organizations in crisis communication management.","PeriodicalId":228204,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Komunikasi Ikatan Sarjana Komunikasi Indonesia","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128398174","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The success of Dilan 1990 is inseparable from the culture industry's strength, which can mobilize public interest through reliable publication and marketing. The success of the film Dilan carrying the characters of Dilan and Milea as teen idols raises concerns about the identity of adolescents who are laden with violent symbols. This is because the content and theme of the story in the 1990s were constructed with Dilan's character, who liked to fight. For this reason, this study aims to analyze the construction of adolescent identity and social violence in the 1990 Dilan film. This research method uses a qualitative approach with an interpretative paradigm. Data Analysis Method uses narrative analysis of film subtitles with the Vladimir Propp analysis model. The unit of analysis in this study is the film Dilan 1990 (2018). Data collection techniques are conducted with text analysis, literature study, observation, and documents. This study concludes that social violence among adolescents is constructed in the cinema through adolescents' identity, both verbal violence and physical violence in the school environment and outside of school. Young men carry out social violence to young women who describe gender inequality, which refers to social violence due to cultural factors.","PeriodicalId":228204,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Komunikasi Ikatan Sarjana Komunikasi Indonesia","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130126648","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The local election stages have begun in June 2020 by forming a unit to update data of voters and socialize how to hold the elections during the pandemic. This paper aims to build communication strategies in socializing how to hold the elections during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results were obtained using the survey method involving 440 respondents in Denpasar in September 2020. The communication strategy is a combination of offline and online mediums. Despite a policy to stay at home, data shows that residents of Denpasar still needed offline mediums such as billboards and banners. In addition, they also searched for information about the election through printed advertisements and television advertisements. To ensure the smooth socialization of election process, the General Election Commission (KPU) in Denpasar uses accounts in social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook in collaboration with parties that have a large number of followers or mass media that have accounts in social media with a large number of followers. However, almost all respondents do not follow the official account of KPU Denpasar. Uniquely, in Denpasar, some potential voters still rely on community leaders and figures in searching for information about the local election. To that end, to build communication strategies, these community leaders and figures should be involved. Data also show that online meeting like zoom, google meet, or Webex meeting is not sufficient.","PeriodicalId":228204,"journal":{"name":"Jurnal Komunikasi Ikatan Sarjana Komunikasi Indonesia","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114582453","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
