The proposed method requires that signers wear gloves to simplify the process of segmenting out the hands of the signer via color segmentation. The consecutive frame differences of the segmented signing hands are then thresholded and accumulated into two static images that preserve the motion information. Special accumulation strategy is employed to maintain the directionality of the projected motion. To filter out any other irrelevant source of motion in the resulting images we encapsulate the movements of the segmented hands in a bounding box. Bounded images are then transformed into the frequency domain using Discrete Cosine Transformation followed by zonal coding to form the feature vectors. The pipeline and parallel approaches are combined to introduce a new high speed FFT algorithm which increases resolution by using floating point calculations in its structures. The design has the merits of low complexity and high speed performance. Furthermore, latency reduction is an important issue to implement the high speed FFT on FPGA. The proposed FFT algorithm shows the latency of (N/2log2 N) + N. It is envisage that the result from this study can be used to select the most appropriate wavelet to compress still colour images. Correlation coefficients between many statistical features of colour images and their PSNR, CR and bpp values are computed. The results show that the colour histogram statistics of the images do not influence the coding performance. In the first step, the TS algorithm is reviewed and then we employ the proposed method in order to assign efficiently the optimal PID controller parameters. The design goal is to minimize the integral absolute error and reduce transient response by minimizing overshoot, settling time and rise time of the system. A 5-bar-linkage is considered as a case study. We define an objective function including these indexes. Then by minimizing this function using discrete TS algorithm, controller parameters design is performed efficiently and quickly. Superior features of this algorithm are fast tuning of PID parameters, rapid convergence, less computational burden and capability to avoid from local minima. It continuously provides the machine status which allows the detection of abnormalities and problems at incipient stages as well as the intervention of maintenance and production personnel at proper time to keep the plant running and to avoid serious accidents. Most of rotating machine failures is due to bearing faults. The ability to predict the bearing failure at early stage is of great importance. This paper discusses the concept of acoustic emission (AE) monitoring techniques, in which signal processing measurements are used to create a simple integrated structure for the integration of condition monitoring and real-time information management of systems. This allows AE signals with frequency range 100 KHz - 1 MHz to be processed and analyzed using advanced signal processing and data analysis techniques. The effectiveness for AE monitoring system for early detection of healthy bearing is conducted. In such applications, the speech signal is corrupted by environmental ambient noise. This acoustically added background noise degrades the performance of digital voice processors used for various functions like speech compressors, encoders etc. Further, due to dramatic variance in characteristics of noise in different environments, a single algorithm cannot prove equally beneficial in all circumstances. Finally, the complexity is a major barrier when dealing with systems involving runtime signal processing for mobile phones, as issues such as time complexity and MIPS as involved. Hence, some kind of noise reduction technique has to be employed in order to maintain the performance level of the system at par with that in case of a noise-free environment, regardless of the actual environment in which it is employed. QoS guarantees can be provided in packet networks by the use of proper packet scheduling algorithms. Similar to the trends of computer revolution, many scheduling algorithms have been proposed to meet this goal. In this paper, we propose a new priority assignment scheduling algorithm, Hierarchical Diff-EDF, which can meet the real-time needs while continuing to provide best effort service over heterogeneous real-time network traffic. The Hierarchical Diff-EDF service meets the flow miss rate requirements through the combination of single step hierarchal scheduling for the different network flows, and the admission control mechanism that detects the overload conditions to modify packetspsila priorities. The implementation of this scheduler is based on the multi-agent simulation that takes the inspiration from object-oriented programming. The implementation itself is aimed to the construction of a set of elements which, when fully elaborated, define an agent system specification. The Z-source converter overcomes the conceptual and theoretical barriers and limitations of the traditional voltage-source converter and current-source converter and provides a novel power conversion concept. The Z-source concept can be applied to all dc-to-ac, ac-to-dc, ac-to-ac, and dc-to-dc power conversion. The robotic arm imitates a human arm and able to grasp many objects of different shapes and sizes ranging from a small pen to a large ball. The robotic arm consists of a shoulder, an elbow, a wrist and five fingers and each finger is designed with three moveable sections except only two for the thumb. The sections in each finger will either be pushed or pulled synchronously using internal linkages and controlled by a 18F4431 microcontroller. Basic movement is pre-programmed to ensure that all the movement is within the allowable constrains, and can be controlled by human operator or automatically controlled by a computer. The 8 DOFs humanoid robotic arm provides wide trajectory coverage over the three-dimensional space around the base. It is implemented on an FPGA chip in the Altera Stratix EP1S25 DSP Development Kit using VHDL. The system can be configured to use either space-time block coding (STBC) or space-time trellis coding (STTC). It also allows for the use of OFDM to provide frequency diversity and can be reconfigured to use different space-time coding schemes and different modulation schemes including QPSK, 16QAM, and 8PSK.
