A novel face detection system is presented in this paper. The approach relies on skin based color, while features extracted from two dimentional discreate cosine transfer (DCT) and neural networks. which can be used to detect faces by using skin color from DCT coefficient of Cb and Cr feature vectors. This system contains the skin color which is the main feature of faces for detection and then the skin face candidate is examined by using the neural networks, which learns from the feature of faces to classify whether the original image includes a face or not. The processing stage is based on normalization and discreate cosine transfer ( DCT ). Finally the classification based on neural networks approach. Brain interfaces are studied to provide rehabilitation to patients with neurodegenerative diseases; such patients loose all communication pathways except for their sensory and cognitive functions. One of the possible rehabilitation methods for these patients is to provide a brain machine interface (BMI) for communication, using the electrical activity of the brain detected by scalp EEG electrodes. Classification of EEG signals extracted during mental tasks is a technique for designing a BMI. In this paper a BMI design using five mental task EEG signals from two subjects were studied, a combination of two tasks is studied per subject. An Elman recurrent neural network is proposed for classification of EEG signals. Principal component analysis is used for extracting features from the EEG signals. The EEG signal is classified into two tasks. Ten such task combinations are studied. Average classification accuracies varied from 75.5% to 100% with a testing error tolerance of 0.05. These algorithms are used in various areas such as path planning, collision detection, haptic interaction, virtual reality, etc. The algorithm of Gilbert-Johnson-Keerthi (GJK) and the algorithm of Lin-Canny (LC) are well known fast solutions to the problem. An hybrid approach which was proposed by Sundaraj-Mazer (SM) has also been shown to produce satisfactory results in terms of speed and accuracy. A review of these algorithms and their variations are presented. GALS offer generic adaptability to existing concepts and change localization during product evolution. The major advantage of using the presented methodology is an improvement in the development time of the system during both the design and the maintenance phases. This work has empirically demonstrated the effectiveness of a hybrid neural network model for density-based clustering. The cluster regions formed were then evaluated based on visualisation of clustering information on the map. The visual inspection of the map revealed the number of clusters as well as their spatial relationships. By analysing the clustering information in this way, the cluster (or density) structures of the data were obtained. Living in a building that adapts itself to the users and assists them in reducing their energy consumption is now within reach. The main technical barrier comes from hardware: servers and industrial control networks do not fit in a house. With the availability of dedicated wireless solutions and low-cost small computation units, the platform to implement task distribution in a control network is now feasible and cost efficient. This paper explores the possibilities of fitting a distributed learning algorithm for home ambient intelligence in a wireless network of sensors and actuators, driven by very limited microcontrollers. The chosen hardware platform is the WACNet: Wireless Ad-hoc Control Network. The concept of WACNet is introduced and the test-bed developed for its study is explained. The fuzzy learning algorithm is then introduced and its implementation is studied. This paper proposes the implementation of FLC for PLC TSX 37-21. This PLC has additional plug-in called PL7Fuz but user has to buy it separately. The proposed idea was implemented to control the speed of DC motor. FLC is designed with 2 inputs and 1 output (5 labels for each input/output). For simplicity, the output membership function uses singleton type. The input membership functions use triangle and trapezoid types. For this PLC can be programmed with several methods, the structured text method was chosen. Although the performance of the system in the presence of disturbance was not satisfied, the system worked well under normal condition. The FLC system is not general so the tuning process is difficult. This paper will discuss the development of desktop search utility for Linux by integrating the web-based interface by using Java script with command line indexer program Namazu to search text files located in the hard drive. Currently, this system is developed and tested on Debian distribution of the Linux Operating System and it could only search for text files. This system refers to this index files when processing the searching for userpsilas request in a fast and produces effective results. A haptic device enables a two way communication between the user and the host computer. The applications of force feedback device cover a wide area such as in medical training, systems for the visually impaired, engineering research, and creative art-work. The role of haptic feedback varies depending on the applications in question and the devices used. This includes haptic as a teaching tool, and a communication aid. Despite the benefits of haptic feedback, its deployment to support interactions in a virtual environment is still slow. This is due to the high cost of the haptic devices in the market. We address this issue by presenting a conceptual framework in designing and implementing a cost-effective haptic device; building on similar concepts obtained from existing technologies. The device is developed using those gadgets that are mainly available in-house.
